  • Landgrab: Its On!



    Landgrab have been re-introduced to Planet Calypso, and societies can yet again battle to dominate a Land Area for a period of time. The Forts are at the center of this, providing another element to Landgrab, and giving the vehicles a important role in the capturing or besieging of the Forts.

    In addition to eight Land Areas that will be used for Landgrab, there will also be two Fort areas that is connected to the Event System, where you can enter player-made events or simply create them yourself and blast up some friends. Oh, and did I mention that while participating in Fort events, ammo burn will only be 10% of regular usage and deterioration will also be just 10% of normal value, allowing you to have PvP fun with your friends at a minimal cost!

    We at SEE Digital Studios would love to try this out with you, so we're hosting three events this evening at 14:00, 15:30 and 17:00. To participate in our events today, visit the Event Manager in Tukar for your ticket.
    After the events are over, the real deal begins...


    Four Land Areas are being released for Landgrab today at 18:30.

    Societies will have to tear down the Fort to get to the claim, and hold it for one hour to claim to Fort and Land Area. So who will be the first societies to dominate the Calypso Forts?

    The remaining four Land Areas will be released for Landgrab this coming weekend. Stay tuned for exact times. And have fun!

      For those of us who are too nub to be concerned with the actual content of these events...

      Are there any missions/achievements/participation-diplomas we have to worry about getting during this event, like Merry Mayhem?

      AWESOME! Fight it out over LA9 and LA15, my current mining spots due to taxes being set at 0%. I wonder if the society that wins LA15 will jack up the taxes for the awesome copper and alferix claims which can be found there. Oh well, time to get back to mining the tax-free areas of Eudoria once again.

      So basically is there a chance for straight up newbs and people who use newb gear be able to play on a fair ground with eachother? Would be nice during those force battles.

      10% Decay and 10% Ammo Consumption?
      It will be insane and those high decay weapons (and any of the anti-material rifles if any are left) will be pretty fun to use this time 'round, explosive weapons will be ridiculously cheap to use as well.

      LA grab , is that yet to be set a date for ?
      the events they had set was just for fort tryout i may hope ?
      sorry bit confused i know just woke up , because if LA grab still needs to come up i wish to enter the fight tooo some way or the other.
      and please let it be everyone can go for the grab again and not only top 50 or such sheit.

      I don't understand the point of the fort.

      As I understand it, when the fort main controls have been destroyed, it signals the start of the hour that the holding society have to defend the claim for. It doesn't matter how long it takes for the fort to be destroyed, they still have to hold the claim for an hour.

      That means that there isn't really any point in defending the fort at all, since you'll have to defend your claim for an hour whatever happens. By defending the fort, all you're doing is making the whole thing take longer and spending more PEDs.

      Surely the time spent protecting the fort should be deducted from the time needed to protect the claim - so if you can keep your control room from being destroyed for 40 minutes, you only have to defend the claim for 20 minutes, or if you can protect the fort for a whole hour then you don't have to protect the claim at all.

      Have I misunderstood something?

      You have to protect the "main control" for 2 hours. If you do that, you retain control of the fort for another week. If the main control is destroyed, then anyone can take the claim at the claim rod, and then has to protect it for 1 hour.

      Ah OK, then there is some purpose to protecting the fort, but you can still get it over with quicker and probably cheaper by letting the controls be destroyed early on.

      Did you guys bother protecting the fort yesterday?

      Well, we were told by support that we would be able to adjust the spawn settings (quantity and maturity) after protecting the fort. But after protecting the fort for two hours yesterday (cersumon LA), our settings still have no effect...

      I see... there's no DNA controls on the LA though, right? Did you make the request for changes via support too?

      There are controls for the dna right on the claim rod in the forts.

      We have an ongoing support case since the first land was won and it did not work.
