It was a pleasant day. The morning began with the sun shining its golden light upon the landscape of Eudoria. As the sunlight brightened, so did my mood. Although, in all honesty, it was not only the pleasant weather. The coffee helped as well.

I had had a terrible night of sleep, dreaming those dreams. The ones where I am eaten. It usually starts with Trox, but it's gotten worse. These days, I even have nightmares of puny creatures.

This morning, I took a bold decision; I was going to take the day off. No work today. Sure, that would put my long-term financial goals back a bit, but what use is a battery when it doesn't get recharged every now and then?

I slipped in my comfortable attire, packed something to eat and drink and strolled to the nearest TP. There, I spent a few minutes to decide on my destination: Jennifer's Island, or perhaps the beach at Corinth. I choose the latter.

I shouldn't have.

Upon arrival in Cape Corinth, I noticed an unusual amount of people there. I smiled, as I thought that perhaps something was going on. A beach party? Or even a music festival? Such a lucky coincidence.

I entered my hoverpod, to drive along the beach a bit, in order to find a spot to plant my hiney, drink a few moonshines and just waste my day away. As I drove, I saw some fighting. Low level drones were easily defeated by colonists. My first fright as seeing robots here was ushered back to sleep by the ease with which our defences held. I felt secure.

I shouldn't have.

I drove on, crossing the large flat sandy plains just east of the TP. And that is where misfortune struck.

One moment, the plain was empty, then, suddenly, it was filled with... I do not know what it was.

They just seemed to TP in at the same moment. Twenty or more of them. Huge, metal machines. Like giant spiders. And all twenty turned to me, and started firing.

The structural integrity of my vehicle lasted for 3 seconds.

I lasted for another second.

Then, I was overwhelmed by this all-too-familiar pain and red haze. Remembering the CDF warning about too much pressure on the revival terminal system, I wondered if this would be the last time I died on this planet. Dead, without having found those riches promised when I arrived. Dead, eternally dead.

I was revived, as you can see, but the revival process was slightly scrambled. It took me days to recover from my injuries. Many days I spent in the hospital ward. Awake in pain, or asleep... haunted by new nightmares. Nightmares which will be with me for a long time to come...

Yesterday saw an epic battle for Greenthorne land area. Reminiscent of land grab battles of the past, it involved over 100 avatars fighting to take control of Greenthorne, with some of the biggest names in Entropia going for all-out war.

Indeed this is how this intrepid reporter learnt of this battle. As I logged into the game there flashed a message Jenna Star Mercury killed over 30 before succumbing, then another big name Xplojd killed... and then another. After a few pm's I was hot on the case and making my way to Greenthorne.

As I arrived in my trusty sleip, I noticed the radar in one section full of the red dots of enemy avatars. With nerves of steel and lightning fast reflexes, I single-handedly managed to kill all of them and take over the land area for Rangers. People were shouting Rangers for the win. It was absolutely amazing; you had to be there to believe it! The adrenaline, the action, the incredible moves and then I shouted, "Are you not entertained?"


Ok, ok. A slight exaggeration. I didn't really take over or indeed shoot anyone. But eh isn't pvp about slap talk and exaggerations?

This is what really happened. I sneaked in from a side where there were no red dots, landed on the outer wall, and repaired a few turrets. As I went in for the actual action I was running for cover from incoming fire from all directions. It was not long before I was at the revive! How different reality is from exaggerations...

Making my way back from the revive it was not long before the battle for the LA was over with one of the Black Angels societies (BA) taking control of the LA.

Kim, the Senior Developer for Planet Calypso, was there and I could see he was excited and wanted to join in the fun. He hinted that Wastelanders, the storyline avatars controlled by Calypso development staff, may want to fight for an LA in the future.

What will happen next? Will BA be ousted by a bigger and mightier enemy or indeed a smaller and trickier foe?

Could this be the beginning of a new era for land grab battles?

Brig. General Yevgeny de Souza, Commander of CDF Ground Forces,hereby alerts all colonists that recent reports of disruptions to the teleporter network have been confirmed by CDF military engineers. The circumstances leading to the disruptions appear identical to those associated with hostile robot infiltrations experienced on Calypso in the past. Higher than usual robot activity in recent weeks also supports this indication.

The initial breach appears to have taken place at the Ashi teleporter, where local CDF and colonist militia forces have been battling Steel Bird aerial robots for the past fortnight. Hundreds of robots are now pouring through the compromised teleporter and decimating colonist settlements in the region. The CDF urgently requests that all active members of the colonial militia report immediately to Ashi and assist in containing the situation. All other civilians are strongly encouraged to evacuate the area until the robot threat has been defeated.

One theory being investigated by CDF Intelligence is that the robot reconnaissance forces were somehow assisted in this infiltration by the mysterious insurgents known as the Wastelanders. Colonist militia forces are authorised to use any force necessary to apprehend or eliminate any Wastelander traitors encountered.

In hopes of preventing future infiltrations, CDF robotologists are particularly interested in obtaining robot technology for analysis, and are offering valuable rewards to colonists who can recover any of the following components from neutralised robots:
