Many time i wondering what story are behind soc name's.

There is many societys what would be nice to hear from where name are from?

Sweden Web Rangers, was originally 2 societys that joined forces, Sweden Webbers and Calypso Rangers :)
 
Obsidian Order? I don't really know to be honest. But we merged from Puddle of Blood, and that name came from me hearing a "Puddle of Mudd" song on the radio and having an obsession with PvP at the time of the soc creation :D

Cazadores Furtivos: "Poachers" is name that means: Mindark does not want seeing us playing the game, but we do. We have not good loots, but we will kill all mobs that Mindark creates in Calypso. :wtg:
 
Mann MPH Killers started over 4 years ago and is obviously named after the Mann MPH pistol in game. The name we have always said signifies how no matter the size of the gun or other attributes that strength in numbers can achieve great things and overcome all obstacles just the same. Our occasional Mann MPH only society hunts continue to prove this to be true. No matter how big the mobs always fall.
 
Two players met and decided to start a SOC in 2005, "Wildman" and "D3amon".

Need I say more about the WildD3amons ;)
 
Addicted Fruitcakes was born under the famous tree at old Port Atlantis on 26.04.2005, It was born in my lil` sick brain...:D I guess that I connected the conversations we had about rl past and all the stupid and weird stuff that we went through...( Iznogood, Lady and me) and mixed It with all the hours that we spent each and every day like a junkie in this "project"...:silly2: Good times, good times.

So for all of you to understand our purpose abit more. Tao-19 is basically the unification of Eastern and Western philosophical joint.
As some may know that Taoism is the ancient Chinese philosophical life style. 19 is taken from the greek alphabet (Tau)

-Taoism has a broad way to define it. Its simply the path to a harmonious life. In the ancient times the Tao way has being the peace, wisdom, and just life path.

-Tau (19) also has many interpretations to it, I took this with the interesting similarity to the TAO, where are the Tau is known for resurrection, and some said knighthood as well. To follow the joint idea of both, we're select 19 brave and sincere human beings to once again express the goodness in the Entropia Universe and hoping to become the role model for our fellow entropians all over the universe.

Finally, with these, if anyone of you see the same goal, feel the same attitude and personality please feel free to chat with any of us. We wont bit

This is basicly what my soc was about before the name change (-TAO-) in 2008 iirc.

Today it still means the same but it just isn't written. :)

(No, this isn't preaching religion, Tao is a way of life)

The idea came from star wars, but if you check wiki..

Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed as an extrusive igneous rock. It is produced when felsic lava extruded from a volcano cools without crystal growth.

(The problem we think about is: will we rescue on other planets than Calypso?)

Ashla Marauders.

Ashla is the good side of the force (from Star Wars). Marauders because it sounded cool at the time. Ashla was picked by me and Maruaders by my partner in crime :) together we made Ashla Marauders :yay:

First Church of Lootius was called C.L.I.T.S. (Clan Lootius Is The Shit) - you can see how it started HERE ...

The priest in game, ViagraFalls (now my husband) formed the society - and it started out well... but people complained about the name (MUST have been the shit-part ;) ) and therefore we renamed it to Church of Lootius!

... and we lived happily ever after!

Odsidian order was a dissident movement in Star Trek (Deep space nine) also :)
 
NBK = Natural Born Killers which is the name of our top soc

In September 2005 it was created by cEViN DooM JeVaT and originally the Natural Born Killers was a handful of noobs and mid-level players who liked to run around and kill stuff.

We still like to kill stuff :)
 
Global Alliance
Originally the 'British Army' society

It was not a rebellious conversion to 'Global Alliance' by our founder Dave Ozi Eplsolon! This occurred 2007 well before the robot wars as an effort to perpetuate a diverse group of warriors, miners and hunters with common needs across the worlds of EU.

Currently Stuart Gamble is our leader and its business as usual and well supported by him.

Global Alliance is what the name says, we are an alliance of free thinking tolerant and helpful too noobs society.

Widely known as a small boutique society most are die hards with a sense of loyalty and prescence in honesty and comaradre ...there is always someone not far off to advise:)

...as long as your not a scammer then our sensors are highly tuned :D

Via Dolorosa is not a religious society. We chose the name Via Dolorosa to emphasize the effort you have to make in Entropia Universe. The heart and soul of the society is the willingness to participate and live through the changes in the world of Entropia Universe. Life in EU as we see it, is a road full of suffering (bad loot, costly, time consuming etc.) just for the pleasure or satisfaction of progression, reaching another level, get another skill, get a HoF or maybe a ATH.

Here's our description from our Website :

SPU is a gaming society and stands for "Smart Professionals United". It reflects the gaming philosophy for all the soc members. The three words describe what is important about being part of SPU.

Smart is how we play. We are not money wasters nor are we just a bunch of n00bs. We know our game and we make use of our knowledge wisely, we play smart.

Professionals is what we are. Some of us are quite busy IRL (in real life), we have real jobs or studies to finish. Hence we are no hardcore gaming kids, we are adults trying to have fun and enjoy ourselves in nice gameplay. What we do we do right, we are professionals.

United we play. We are one trustworthy entity. We rely on eachother ingame, we help eachother, we trust eachother. We are no loose knit group of gamers, we are a small circle of virtual real friends in an online gaming world. We are here to play together and to have fun together, we are united.
