MA wants people to have fun. So it wants people in space. So it wants as many vehicles on the market. Now there are too few on market so they are expensive. Give it 1 month.
THough, MA has also written that they want to "protect the market", meaning (basically) "forget about mod faps dropping again". Noting the fact that the repairable interceptors also are the fastest, they're pretty much like the SGA version of the (L) ships (compare martial (L) and martial SGA).
As for the prices of (L) interceptors; compare the prices of (L) tanks; they're still pretty expensive (no, I don't want any tank lol). And the fact Sleipnir MK3 are/were still pretty rare in auciton. And for the thrusters (which is relatively cheap to craft once you have the BP), some people say the current price of them is "right".
I don't think MA will release any good interceptors comparable to the ones given out soon (repairable and/or as fast as the 4 event prizes). Maybe there will be some kind of event running over the summer where there will be a very good one but it won't be easy to win (think of mayhem, with top prize=LA - but this time a ship).
What's likely to happen, besides add-ons to the battlecruisers, is that MA will make a middle class ship in speed between vtols and interceptors), (L) ones, and make them fairly common, to be the "bread and butter" in space (keeping vtols space-able mostly as a way to go up from planet). And as for the price of thrusters, since a few people do want them expensive I guess they'll stay expensive. Maybe go down from 630 ped BO to say 300 ped BO.
As I'm not interested in pk at all, I just want to be able to go between planets ffs, I'll wait until some lootable fixes have been done (for instance the welding wire and some of the stuff I broght "by mistake" to Calypso and isn't useable on Calypso at all), and I'm financially able to get ship at a reasonable cost that will allow me to stay away from the most triggerhappy people - I don't care about the lack of gunpower on it. Maybe a "reconnaisance" kind of ship with say 200 speed, only one seat, and no weapon slot.
Or, well, if MA would allow me to use my TP-chip in space (dunno if it's possibly, it could be possible technically, but I don't want to get (temp)locked for it as someone who used interplanetary wormholes a couple of years back did by setting up free wormholes from Calypso to old CND) - my TP-chip has a range of 9900m which is enough to travel to another server area (well on Calypso at least). I guess the problem is to get up in space, to "change map", without a ship.
