I just registered...where are my PEDs ?

Do I really have to wait until the community finds out ?

Or will I have to wait until MA cancels the partnership with So Me Tric(k)s before it ever goes live ?

Tell me magic ball !

Most surveys kick me out after the 2nd questions and ask me to start another survey...in very bad german english mix...as I expected...grat MA =)

Status : Viewed and Earned PED = "--" Symbol doesnt mean I made any PEDs, right ? :)

Holy crap, I just won 3 cars, 3x500 Euro vouchers, 2x travel to new york and 27x ipad 2...and as a bonus I also got 19 PED...

Hmm, my PC really slowed down recently. Wonder why....

I haven't done any of the offers yet, although I'm sure if i'm desperate enough I'll give it a try. One of the things I don't understand is that there seems to be a 10usd limit, or 100 ped transfer limit for offers per month.....Than why am I seeing offers for 212 ped?? Little confused by this, and if anyone has done such an offer I would like to know out of curiosity's sake how they were paid, or if they have only received half due to the transfer limit. And, I think once people warm up to this it should affect CLDs, there are quite a few people who are well versed in survey taking that know the does and dont's and how to work the system better than others. Just wish they would implement commercials, videos, trailers... so much easier to deal with those.

On Sometrics

I see this as a potentially handy way to have some other companies advertising budgets feed funds into EU... Which is a good thing.

On the other side, having had a quick browse through most of the items in the "Free" tab, most of them WERE NOT FREE - as they had small print which basically amounted to you agreeing to have automated texts sent to your mobile at your cost (and that cost was not cheap at all - as you've all noticed).

So I would ask MA if they have any control over which options are visible on that feed or not?

If not, that sucks a little, but if they do it might be worth their effort to have someone go through and re-assign some of them to nicer categories or something so that the offers are either not visible, not misleading, or simply re-classified appropriately.

But I do think there is a place for this kind of thing.

And I thank them for the free PED that has indeed appeared on my deposits list for the item I found that was genuinely free. That was a nice (if rather modest) bonus.

i filled out 6 or 7 of those offers and recieved just for two some PEDs
has anybody figured out what are the problems there?

Lol, nothing to get happy about, will take years to get enough ped for one run at beginner level so...

ive heard that wow had problems with this offers, ppl have gotten their accounts hacked.

If this is the best MA marketing can come up with, i am sorely disappointed.

I still think TV ads would be awesome, and a faaaaaaaaar better way to spend money (especially from the cld sales)

did they have gold cards?

i have no idea if wow have gold cards, but i doubt everyone has gold cards in eu, it really doesnt matter EU shouldnt be involved with this crap! We want better gameplay and more for our deposited money...This is probably their way of saying: look we did something about your loot returns, now u can make free peds and get 1 million trojans and viruses....gah.....

Some sort of statement and explanation from MA would certainly be nice.

right, by the way, there even wasn't any info from MA directly to players that some Sometrics offer appeared, and what it's all about, I just noticed new banner in Client Loader, then I started to check google (cause there is never something for free, somewhere is a catch, or a trick ;)), and google told me that MA made some article about it, where is the guy called Community Manager or something?

ok so then I checked offers for my country (Poland), most of them are in "Mobile" category, which means, you get i.e. 10 PED (one time) if you accept getting SMS which will cost you 60 PED weekly, hello no!!! wtf???

other thing is: when I go to that Sometrics webpage in my EU account webpage I got warning that secured site (EU) contains unsecured elements, no comment...

I was always patient when MA was introducing bugs, when MA had bad communication with us, when there were delays in promissed stuff, etc, etc, but this thing beats everything... I don't wanna such "free" PEDs...

From MA's Privacy Policy-

"MindArk may need to disclose your personal information to third party vendors and/or service providers, without restriction to country or nationality within the European Union, in order to fulfill Third Party Item orders or other service orders which you have made in the Entropia Universe or to carry out a reclamation you have made."

I'm just curious if this applies.

Interesting but depending on the quality of the lawyer that composed that it seems not, the key words being "which you have made in the Entropia Universe", i think that some items could be ordered in game in the past, vexed generation clothing was a example of this? I think this part of the privacy policy may be holdover from that time.

I suspect that this part of the Privacy statement was more aimed toward the clothes and paintings and stuff that you used to be able to buy.

The only thing that I am thinking about is that you actually have to login through the Entropia system even past the point of entering youe GC number to access these offers. I do not know if you are in the "Universe" at that point or not.

hmm i did not realise you were forced to log in, that might change things, i just had a quick look to confirm my suspicions and seeing 5 ped offered to be spammed for life by the casino industry, among others, put me off going further. If they do mean this applies to sometrics too then the people that gave bogus information when applying to be spammed might have a big surprise waiting for them when they next check their RL mailbox. And its a little less easy to have that mailbox enlarged than it is on the internet :p

You leave the impression for those who haven't looked that there's nothing there but casinos who will spam you to death. You leave me with the impression that you looked at one ad that was related to a casino and didn't bother looking around any further. You mention casinos in your posts far more times than I have seen casinos advertised in those offers. In fact, I haven't seen any casino offers at all so far.

1. I live in the USA so I probably see and am eligible for more of these offers than people from other countries.
2. I keep a junk mail box for things like this. Sometimes I find something genuinely interesting and then will give them the address I pay attention to after reviewing what they are about. Most of them allow you to edit contact information.
3. I have a laptop that is not my primary computer that I use for doing these things. If I run into malware or a virus, there's nothing on the laptop that would be a problem to wipe. Formatting and repartitioning the laptop is not a problem.

I spent about 2 hours looking at and filling out the offers two nights in a row. You won't make an hourly wage, but you can make more than sweating. I've gone through about half of the offers in the free section. I've read them carefully. NONE of them so far have required me to provide any credit card numbers or such to pay for anything. NONE of them have required a mobile phone number. I don't even have a mobile phone anyway. I already ignore the land line. Can't see having another bill for something else to ignore. lol NONE of them so far have left anything on the computer that is giving me a problem. Yes. Sometimes there can be malware in these kinds of things. Yes. Some of these kinds of offers can spam you to death. That's why no matter what sites such things come from, having the above setup is a good idea. You can also find things that you actually like and wind up using if you can approach it with an open mind.

The worst thing I've run into is the ones for other games to download. You have to look at them carefully. When the installation comes up, it will have check boxes on a lot of them that will offer newsletters or other programs to download with what you agreed to download. You can decline all the other offers and still get the download that pays you.

For my time, I have so far collected about 70 ped. I did these offers Tuesday and Wednesday. Not all of them came through. I had 41 ped collected as of Wednesday night. Then, while I was out hunting longu earlier today, I kept getting deposit messages as my ped card went up while I was hunting. It was actually about as much fun to watch as it is to see sales from the auction come through while engaged in other activities.

Not only have I received 70 ped with more offers still pending, I also won a total of $20.00USD from one of the sites so far. In all fairness, no I haven't received the payment yet. The site lists that it can take up to 15 days for the winnings to arrive in my paypal account. So that is still yet to be seen.

For those with some questions about the limits, I haven't filled out anything for 100 ped or more yet. I have completed offers for 16 ped and 20 ped and both came through in their entirety so I don't think the limits as they are written on the site are clear enough to understand. The 10 ped limit doesn't seem to apply the way I though it would, which is the way others seem to have thought.

I have not had any mail come from these offers to any email address other than the one I gave them, which is different than the one I gave EU. The closest they get to that are the deposit confirmation emails EU sends me for each and every completed offer.

For those who have issues with downloading or giving an email address, there are a few offers in the free section that you just have to watch a video for 20-45 seconds. There isn't many of them and they pay the least, usually just pec, but they are there.

Overall, I am enjoying the service, have found a few new sites or games that I like and appreciate the little extra ped that is over and beyond any of my deposits. I even shared the wealth with a new arrival at PA yesterday. I plan on going back in and at least finishing the free offers. Unfortunately I also already have netflix and have tried Hulu but didn't like that one.

Hugs,
Aliana

I know i should of replied to one of your posts, but what does one say to someone who obviously finds some benefit they otherwise couldnt, from programs like these. I do understand that there are people who do and i didnt mean to sound condescending in any way if i did. But i do doubt that this needs to be connected to entropia, if people wish to earn money this way the internet already seems full of opertunities like this. i dont see how, from the point of mindarks platform and its real cash economy, this adds anything positive. As others have suggested people can and will fake their details, so any marketing information supposedly gained from this is heavily tainted? If people warn of spam and and malware it is for a reason, and it would seem obvious to me this is not good for MA's image. i think if the first time i had visited MA's site looking to download this game and had seen banner advertisements for "services" like these connected to MA i would never have taken their claims about a secure real cash economy seriously, and i doubt i would of downloaded the game, and at that time i was researching virtual worlds for a RL friend who was interested in investing after they read some of the media hype surrounding real cash virtual economies.
