I don't have this problem nor does anyone else I know so this issue may be specific to you.
I had to restart the client loader today which hung between the downloading and the compacting phase.

Some of us players like this VU some not so much.We are free to express our judgement and feelings here,it is natural. What is interesting, those who dont like VU explain why, some provides analysis, some use irony and sarcasm. In opposite camp its very much like " good VU, people stop being negative, etc". I would love to see couple posts with arguments, why those people like this VU.
For example:
Its good they are working on textures instead of bugs and economy.New textures will make me hunt more, I dont care about bugs and fact the loot is hard to sell.
Its good we cant drop items anymore because we did have to much fun and game play in general. Now I will grind lots more, nothing will disturb me from spending peds.
Just examples, but I hope u got what I mean and hope to see something, just something instead of "why u are so negative".
I don't feel any need to justify my failure to embrace your (personal and collective) negativity.
Peace, Miles
Thx MA, that was def. worth 1 gig...
Now that you're done fucking around with code, could someone aprove my withdrawl so I can show some love to my ex GF?

"It is now only possible to drop items in your own estates"
... MA should add a new Terminal called the "Noob Terminal" or something like that so that people can still give stuff to new players. When the item is "Noob Terminaled" it injects it into the loot pool for them or places it in one of the noob zones...... or maybe just let people drop stuff still...
Woah woah woah this is something that should've been community-polled before implementing. What players wanted this feature removed? I can't imagine very many? The world just became less interactive, why do this?
One of the things I've always loved doing was hiding small piles of extra ore, oil etc. I would normally hide them somewhere in camp icarus and watch how long it takes for them to be discovered. One day I spent ~10 minutes trying to land on the TOP of the camp icarus building (where the antenna is, above the roof level) from my sleip, without dying from fall damage. I finally made it without dying somehow and I hid a stack of animal eye oil up there. It stayed there for like a week! I am sure the new players who come across hidden items appreciate finding free things (even if it is only some pecs) and it also gives an actual reason for exploring aside from crappy fruits or dung which both aren't worth much and aren't as fun to find because they are generated by the game, not placed there by someone else.
I've found an uzi on top of the camp icarus roof just a week ago... I've found piles of pec way high up in trees that I landed on in my sleip, I've found piles of ammo in Twin Peaks under the MSC, I've found a pixie part once in a swamp under some ferns. I found a pile of 10ped in camp icarus on the chair next to the auctioneer once! And I found 0.60 of animal muscle oil crate JUST yesterday under the Thule sleip (it was hard to click on). THIS WAS FUN. Now there's no reason to explore because it's impossible to place anything.
This feature was not only social (treasure hunts etc) it was a way to be generous to players and circulate good mood/positivity. Please put this feature back. It has been here since Project Entropia... enough classic PE features have already been removed. This is too extreme of a change.
EDIT: If the issue is somebody making infinite accounts and TTing the items from the beginning (like the Explosives Ammo, etc) and dropping the pecs and making another account, can't you just make all the starter equipment (even the ammo) just be non-sellable like the Vivo... that way the issue is pinpointed directly, rather than ruining everybody else's fun.
Then some people will be making a new avatar every time they hit agi level 15 to loot bonus gifts from "idiots" who "give them free PED" until they have a withdrawal on their main.

[*]It is no longer possible to use consumables in space when ejected from ship
Fascinating how much power thieves and pirates have on this platform. Bitch and get your way. Wow! Sure says a lot about the game host and who we realy dealing with.
Free to roam, camp and rob, never depo, just steal. Not a Cop in sight and no consiquences for doing wrong to others and causing offence. You may ruin ther experience for others, especially depositing players who lose always. Sometimes fast sometimes gradual.
Brilliant Ballance for space. I suggested an idea to a MA staffer. But wont go there. Futile to even try.
For the record, i dont like it. Specially the "balance" and the "space-Dynamics". Host can do it right. But wont.
For the Non-thieves and honest frequent depositing members. The question here, that should be posed is; " Why does a non-frequent depositing frusdtrated common thief, carry so much power, as opposed to frequent high depositing gamers, who are against wrong-doings?" and "What does it say about a host that goes far out of its way, to protect and satisfy the needs of common thieves, above the rest?"
Space Police with superior firepower, and aprehension/capture abillity. That would be a honest balance. And make the pirates life, not so easy in a decent Entropia way. Platform is perfect for it. base, badge. SOC, Forum,( to lodge crime reports and close cases, etc.), and Full MA aproved Code of Virtual LAW statutes. patrols, Uniform, etc. Ye "Entopia Police Service" E.P.S.
Pucker-factor for pirates. Escort for merhant haulers. Trash collection. Cleanup-Crew. Pissed-off janitor. Cry about IT!!!
No one is stopping you from being that police, besides you and the skills that get you killed constantly by the ones you want to try to beat.
Several years ago they put a minimum TT value on dropped items, for performance reasons. This is a different issue. The ability to drop items facilitates money-laundering and the fencing of scammed items via unregistered transactions. Platform security and integrity are vital to the future of EU, so even if it spoils our fun (I've both left and found hidden items) it should be reassuring to every honest avatar.
The anti-pirate pill-popping was so obviously an exploit, plain and simple. You may not like lootable PVP space, but that won't change it being a core platform principle.
Peace, Miles
Can someone please confirm if the medi-stim pills work in planet-side PVP ?
If the answer is yes... then I totally fail to see why in space it is called an exploit.
Pirates and others constantly use the phrase 'it is pvp get over it'
Well if the pills are operational in planet pvp...then it is a game mechanic not an exploit...get over it.
If not usable in planet pvp, then I totally see the problem.
Oh and before you all start shouting at me, I have never used a medi-stim, let alone used it in space, so I have no axe to grind here, just a genuine curiosity as to why this is being called an exploit.

[h=2]ComPet Announcement[/h]Late in 2017, MindArk performed a major overhaul and update to ComPet with the goal of improving conversion and retention of new players. After this overhaul was implemented and refined, a comprehensive marketing campaign was initiated early in 2018. Analysis of that marketing campaign and the resulting conversion rates indicated that the current model was not sustainable. The marketing analysis was conducted by a leading mobile marketing firm.
As such, the MindArk Board of Directors has decided to suspend any further development or marketing of ComPet, and is exploring options for potential development and/or publishing partnerships with established mobile game organizations.
In order to minimize the impact of the decision to suspend development of ComPet, MindArk is offering ComPet Deed holders the ability to exchange ComPet Deeds for Arkadia Moon Deeds at a ratio of five ComPet Deeds for two Arkadia Moon Deed. The upcoming release will place two different NPC:s on Planet Calypso which will handle the transfer, one in Port Atlantis Mall Teleporter and one in Twin Peaks. The NPC:s will be available until December.
Best regards,
Henrik Nel

While it's great that you can only think of innocent ways or harmless uses for this, others are more devious. Even though you don't (and shouldn't) spend too much of your logged in time worrying about crime in the RCE, that doesn't mean it's not an issue.
I will miss this feature tremendously. I travel around a lot and hardly a week of active play goes by that I don't find some item left by a player. I add to them more often than I take them, but I did find some items when I was new and remember the excitement. When a new player asks me about an item they found I encourage them to enjoy the gift, and replace it when they have 'extra items' in the game.
There are families and other groups of players who use drop trades frequently as well.
In any case it's well known that this technique facilitates ongoing criminal activity. It encourages certain people to continue, and it enables newer players to get started. If this is the reason, it's understandable.
I started a thread for pics, but it's mostly turned into discussion as well. This seemingly simple decision has drawn a lot of upset from the community already. It would be nice if MA would share their reasoning on this one.
