You have been using the adjusted boiga. That's not a bad weapon at all eco wise (3.001 and 61 eff with a decent amp).
I have it too. it's really nice. But you don't profit with it. Ofcourse you can test yourself using one of these super weapons. But you know the answer to your question already.
The only times you profit, is when you have enough nice multipliers. So the goal shouldn't be the highest eff weapon, but where/when/how to get your multipliers. But ofcourse I could be wrong. I have never actually held a 79 eff weapon. Good luck!
I have mixed feelings about Adjusted Bolga Whip, it is lovely for taming and therefore brilliant for adding a ton of levels to looter skill. Since many taming support skills go towards looter skills.
Although since the recent updates and introduction of new eco, I've lost confidence with using it as a hunting weapon. If I go back a few MM's I did a lot of Adj Bolga on Merry Mayhem kerbs and even got a few small hofs if I remember to tick over skilling. But I'd be wary to do that now, I did shared elite kerbs solo with it at Fort Troy just before this MM and well...it was not good. Something changed under the hood. Plus whip sadly doesn't give commando, so you're not getting the HP gains to trigger loots.
This was one reason I searched for a new way forward and bought an Adjusted Det sword sometime ago, which I absolutely rate 100%. In fact at the moment I trust it more than the new Mace, but that could be skill requirement issue. (the mace and sword do give commando). I've not checked if the mats required for Adj Det sword are still available, but if you can get hold one I would highly recommend it. Once over 6900 longblades it shows true promise. Its just that little bit stronger and faster than Ark swords which I think makes the difference. The pro level requirement for it 10/10 hit ability is much lower of course, but I think the return rate is still based on high skill levels.
Melee is quite interesting over the last 6 months. I'm pretty confident that if you dump shrap to TT, it doesn't calculate a loss instead of converting to uni-ammo. Whereas trading sharp does "appear" to calculate you used it......it's quite interesting that one, and I've not quite got to the bottom of it.
Now as you say what and where you hunt makes a difference. One problem I had with taming for a long while, is I felt I was feeding the pool on that server (devils and dragon at Atlantis). I ran a ton of whips+amps at 60 ped lose per whip, but pushed on anyway (stupidly maybe), I also had a lot of good even runs too. Hey-ho I got those skills now so its's done.
I don't always like to push on in events, but that's where most of the peds are going. So I often feel "its event hunting or nothing". I don't have the knowledge or contacts to know "where" to go.....smiles. But I do get the feeling that unless you're ready for a hof and on some list, then moving away from event could be worse.
MA say long term efficiency matters. I tend to use the best weapon I can get hold of, rather than what profession it's related too. People used to rave about Mod merc, well some of these FEN have far superior stats, so we should be happy to trust them right? laughing.....who knows.
