Put the file in the Entropia Universe folder, and then run it as administrator.

If he is having issues with that, tell him to run the repair feature in the client loader first if he can. It may be an issue where the update file is trying to update damaged files. Also, the file downloads as the update, not a compressed file. He shouldn't have to "extract" anything.

He cant even run the client for some silly reason :/

If he needs to reinstall EU, what would he need to run from the vu11 version?

as I know he got the vu11 on a disc so shouldn't be too much of a problem but still very frustrating to not get it to work

Tell him just replace the whole directory with the files on the disk, and it should update from 11.0 to 11.5.

Edit: Another possibly easier task would be to just replace the client loader exe and try running the repair feature from it.
