Ausie Crocidile Hunter killed

Aside from his TV work he did great work leading to better understanding of a number of dangerous animals. Not to mention what he has done for Australia zoo. He will be missed by so many for so many reasons.

Rest in peace my friend :( you will be missed indeed :(

I truly loved that guy, he was one of my childhood heroes :(

:( This is sad indeed - I thought it was only rumours. I mean .. he can't die? He is THE RL crocodile Dundee - aren't people like him supposed to be immortal ??

He was and still is.

I´m in shock (but not really suprised)...

A true hero & one of my IRL-idols since his debut in the 90´s...

He did all for the attention but not for the benefit of himself but for the sake of wildlife preservation.

Rest In Peace Steve, my thoughts are with you, your kids and Terri

i thought this was about crocodile dundee, paul hogan at first before i read that article.

The story is interesting .
How did that stingray aim and reach his heart? Strange..

Unfortunately i think i didnot know Steve Irwin until today ..I cant remember seeing him on french TV .That must have something to do with national channels buying or not his shows.

He took the risk but ,regarding what the other specialists are saying ,he didnot care about security on that move ....Too bad, he seemed like an important person in the area of zoology.

According to www.aftonbladet.se he didn't see the stingray and swan right over it, making it upset.

Steve was very knowledgeable, but risk taking was what made him famous. He gained notoriety when he did one of his famous crocodile teases - with his 1 year-old son on his arm! He made a public apology to the US audience after massive protests.

Yes, Steve lived life on the edge. I liked him for it, and am sad for his family. They were a great team.

Actually, his son was only two months old when that happened. He is 2½ now. My thoughts go out to Steves wife and children.

I'm shocked :(
surviving crocodiles, snakes, spiders, whatever, but killed by a stingray who hit the heart
very sad

RIP Steve Irwin.... I feel really sorry for his children and wife that he's left behind... :( He was a truely great man and he was entertaining.

What Alice said....

Fare well Steve!

Don't mess with the sea creatures!
Nu va puneti cu jivinele marine!

Really said to see his life get cut short.
Will be missed greatly :(

'Crickey!'

It's very sad that he got killed :(

but we got to remeber his famous words:

This is veeeeery dangerous!

R.I.P

R.I.P., I really liked his television shows and he was a great conservationalist.

A very sad day Indeed:( I just love true eccentrics. The saddest day since Fred Dibnah Died.

I feel for his kids. Thats one heck of a lotta energy to lose from one family unit. He was full of life. I wish i had one speck of his energy.
Being a father all i can think of is how his kids won't be able to hug him anymore or do things together anymore. Especially Bindi the eldest.

Ironicly not a croc.. lol... very sad day indeed... R.I.P steve irwin :(

Crickey

This is a sad news flash, indeed.

Let me put a slightly different light on this unfortunate occurance. Think, if you will, about how this man reached his mortal end. He was doing the very thing he loved the most, being as close to nature as possible. Anyone who has ever seen his shows, knows that he had no reservations about placing himself in positions of danger. His love for his work, allowed him to take risks, which undoubtedly gave him extreme pleasure. Each and every one of us, should be so lucky, to pass on while in the midst of such joy.

Rest well, Steve. Your memory and spirit will live on.

This really sucks... My children cried when they saw the news on TV. He was a great man of the enviorment and a friend to all animals. Not to mention an educator to millions.

:(

See you in the next life big chap.
