Help: avatar creation fades to black

Hi, I'm new and have just installed the game, however I can't get past avatar creation.. While creating an avatar, after a few minutes the screen slowly fades into black. Not the whole screen, though, because the creation bar is still visible. I can still see the sky, in-game screens around my character but everything else is black, thus I can't see the avatar.. It's quite frustrating. I've been trying to avoid that black screen by very quickly doing my avatar but it's not possible, it fades too fast. Any solution?

PS. My sys req. are alright.
FYI.
Windows XP
Nvidia GTX 260
4GB Ram
Intel Core Duo

Not quite helpful. :p Maybe it should be 'fade into black'. Sorry, not English native speaker.

hehe, sorry, was not meant at your english at all... it just reminded me of one of my favorite songs :D
 
A known issue on low/medium setting, will be fixed shortly (probably on Tuesday 22 December).
