Well today took a test flight in the XR-74635, great job on that one.
Flight took 40 minutes from an undisclosed location on Planet Calypso to the new CP.
Love the new ATC future (air traffic control), after filing in my flight plan it got approved.
This flight went without passenger so no waiting for boarding.
Took my place in the pilots seat and wow stunned by all the details, looks wonderfull. Big view trough the front cockpit window, witch proofed helpful later on.
Outside view was also great, see imagine below.
Starting up this baby took a bit of time, 5 minutes going through all steps. But then, after the docking clamps got released, the XR-74635 went into hover mode, sweet this one. ATC gave clearance to take off, and I slowly pushed the throttle forward, a good thing as the response is quick. I had to manual fly the XR-74635 to the coordinates of the start of the AP flight path.
(AP = Auto Pilot)
Controls aren’t too hard on this craft, yet some lag put me off course, but adjusted nicely. Once I hit the AP fight Path, the AP jumped in and the
XR-74635 went into a steep climb.
This part I love, the roar of the engines is loud, the outside view is shaking a bit. Soon it became darker outside and a red glow came over it, going trough the atmosphere is great !
Then space was a bit of a disappointment, no sounds, yeiks.
Checked the engines, Pffff still going.
Next stop, Space Station Alpha to refuel. 20 minutes into the flight
docked again to refuel. Darn that made a dent in my ped card.
But at last after 35 minutes CP in sight and wow that looks cool.
After getting docking clearance from ATC, I had to manual land and dock.
Wow tricky this, took some damage on docking but made it.
So pilots prepare for some real work.
