How much does an ESI lose if i put 500 lvls on it?

I would like to take out an unneeded skill where I have just about 500lvls.
If I put this on a 12.5 ped chip, would the ESI disappear or would it have enough value to create a new one? How much of its TT value would the ESI lose?

I think If your left with any value less than 12.5, you loose the remainder.

Pity really. But stops the flood of peoples 10 skill worth chip auctions lol.

I think it says on the descriptions on ESIs that if you chip out and the remainding ESI value goes under 10 peds you will get it in peds. And 500 skill points should be just above 1 ped chip according to http://www.entropiatools.com/numchips.php.

I recently took out 500 levels of a skill. I use a 12.50 ped chip and got an 11.27 ped chip back, so it took 1.23 ped of the chip.
If the chip you use has 10 peds or less after the extraction you will get 10 peds (or the value of the chip whatever that may be) and no chip back.
