Question: If I chip out 1 combat skill - will it affect other skills and ranks?

Greets.

I originally started on Laser skills back in 2004 - then moved to Plasma - and now am finally on BLP and staying with it.

I feel I have no use for my old laser/plasma skills - but am concerned if I chip those out - will it drop my BLP Hit/Damage and profession ranks as well?

Also.... am I correct in assuming it will also affect my Laser/Plasma crafting skills/ranks as well?

It will not affect your BLP skills or levels. It will not affect your BLP weapons crafting levels. It will affect your laser / plasma crafting levels. It will also affect your mounted laser profession levels.

best way to see the exact impact :
a) upload your avaar specs into chipping optimizer (possibly via entropedia)
b) see what it says for impact in various professions with chipout

There are common skills between Laser, Plasma, and BLP professions. Make sure you are not chipping those and you should be alright.

As was said earlier use the chipping tool. Down load the scanner here first to make it easier then adding numbers by hand. http://jdegre.net/pe/scanner/

This will show you what skills go with what profession and ways to maipulate chip in and chip out to suit your needs.

Over on the Entropedia skill page you can choose professions and then select a profession to see which skills influence it, if you want to quickly see if it would influence a certain profession if you chipped out a certain skill

Thanks for the responses - it is the "dependencies" that I am concerned about.

I will play with the scanner tool and see how it looks.... might post here again if I am lost again.
