The artwork here sucks, I know, lol...

I did the artwork on 15 minute breaks at work and did the text descriptions at the same time... so very quick little sketches... and done in the very limiting MS paint... descriptions are the important part... I was looking to make mobs that used damage types or combos, or maneuvers different than most other mobs that we already have in game... since that would present a bit of a challenge to hunters...

assembly_bot.jpg

Creature Name: Assembly Bot

Creature description (100 word limit): The assembly bot is a factory worker drone with the primary duty of building new robots, or using recycled robot parts to re-create robots that were destroyed. These drones do not use conventional weapons such as lasers, but are known to have plasma torches and sometimes use spare robot parts as weapons. Assembly bots work closely with recycle bots to re-create robots that have been destroyed previously. It is rumored that if robot bodies are not looted when they are destroyed, recycle bots and assembly bots can work together as battlefield technicians to re-create robot armies.

Assembly bots do burn damage with their torches, and various other damage types with robot parts that they have access to. Typical damage types would probably be electric, impact, shrapnel and cut.

goozoid.jpg

Creature Name (max. 20 characters incl. spaces, hyphens etc.): Goozoid

Creature description (100 word limit). Creativity, relation to Calypso story and novelty elements will be taken into account when judging:

Beware of the Goozoid! It's can absorb any food source that it touches, and it likes to eat just about anything!

10 creature maturity names reflecting difficulty levels e.g. young, mature, elite etc. (max. 15 characters):

1. freshly spawned
2. ooey
3. gooey
4. slimey
5. gross

8. dangerous
9. assassin
10. deadly

Suggested stats and parameters for creature based on current creature characteristics on Planet Calypso. Final balancing decisions of the creature will be made by MindArk.

The goozoid is a living puddle of acidic ooze. These squid like creatures essentially are blobs of goo that will attach themselves to anything they come in to contact with. They are something of a cross between a jellyfish, an octopus, a tick, and an electric eel. These creatures do electric and acid damage to whatever it touches. If the goozoid is allowed to stay "stuck" on any one victim long enough, by wrapping it's tentacles around the victim for a certain length of time, it will also begin to do penetration damage. Constantly moving can keep the goozoid from sticking on you too long.
Tentacles must wrap completely around its victim before its penetration damage starts. It is NOT a good idea to stand still too long in an area where goozoids are believed to be since they will likely wrap themselves around you. Since the goozoid does not actually need air to breathe, it can be found both in water and on land (it cannot be killed by drowning). In the water, it can swim at a mediocre pace. On land it slides along the ground at a very slow pace, and sometimes will sit on the ground waiting for potential victims that don't realize that it is there.

hisser.jpg

Creature Name (max. 20 characters incl. spaces, hyphens etc.): Hisser

Creature description (100 word limit). Creativity, relation to Calypso story and novelty elements will be taken into account when judging:

The Hisser is a very fast snakelike creature that is rumored to protect itself with a natural static electric force field barrier.

10 creature maturity names reflecting difficulty levels e.g. young, mature, elite etc. (max. 15 characters):

1. Just Hatched
2. n00b
3. Slow
4. Youthful
5. Mature
6. Fast
7. Quick
8. Speedy
9. Hyper
10. Elite

Suggested stats and parameters for creature based on current creature characteristics on Planet Calypso. Final balancing decisions of the creature will be made by MindArk.

- Runs fast
- When not running, the Hisser is taking a rest, at which time it's glowing. When in this state, anything touching the hisser will be shocked with a small amount of electric damage.
- When running, this creature's bites does acid damage, penetration damage, or cut damage.
- the hisser makes a snakelike sound at all times. It is a fast sssssssssss type of sound when running and more of a buzzzzzz type of sound it's resting. Like the chirpy, these little creatures will run away if they feel threatened, and they move very fast like the chripy.
- Higher level maturities are bigger, faster, and do more damage.

merlynn.jpg

Creature Name (max. 20 characters incl. spaces, hyphens etc.): Merlynn

Creature description (100 word limit). Creativity, relation to Calypso story and novelty elements will be taken into account when judging:
This ancient tribe of humanoid elemental masters attempts to remain in hiding in fear that others will want learn their secret knowledge of magic and will try to make them share that wisdom.

10 creature maturity names reflecting difficulty levels e.g. young, mature, elite etc. (max. 15 characters):
1. initiate
2. apprentice
3. skilled
4. trained
5. mature
6. experienced
7. wise
8. elder
9. arcane
10. master

Suggested stats and parameters for creature based on current creature characteristics on Planet Calypso. Final balancing decisions of the creature will be made by MindArk.

The Merlynn are elemental magicians. The spells of these wizards do a variety of damage types, all of which are tied to the 4 elements, Fire (Burn), Ice (Cold) Air (Electric) and Earth (Impact). Earth spells do similar effects to mining in that they shake the ground in the area surrounding the Wizard - but unlike mining equipment effects, these mini-earthquakes do actual impact damage to those in the area still in contact with the ground (not jumping when the ground shakes). Cold spells are similar if not the same as the Thorifoid spells. Fire Damage should have effects that look like fire in close range, or like fireballs being thrown in long range attacks. Electric attacks always appear as lightning bolts in long range attacks, or as glowing effects around the wizard's hands or feet as the wizard kicks or punches with electrical damage in close range combat (Glowing effects should be similar to the glowing effects created by longblades purchased from the trade terminal for electrical, and more red/yellow for fire)

Merlynn are typically older looking humanoids. Males have long beards. The Merlynn are typically found in tops of mountains since they are basically hermits that don't trust other humanoids. It is rumored that if killed, these wizards may loot chips that can be implanted in to colonists that allow the colonists to do mindforce tricks that are very similar to the spells that the wizards are able to do, and that these chips may be more powerful then the nerve blast chips that colonists can currently use because they will allow a one time warmup phase followed by 25 "blasts" of the magical energies before another warmup phase is needed, whereas nerve blast chips that currently exist have to have a warmup phase every time they are used, making them very unuseful in combat situations.

mutant_terrorist.jpg

Creature Name: Mutant Terrorist

Creature description (100 word limit): Mutant Terrorists are typical mutants that have decided that all humans must die. In order to fulfill this wish these mutants strap bombs on their chests and enter populated human colonies. These terrorists have been trained in explosives and have figured out ways to bypass the turret’s sensors in various cities across the planet. If a mutant terrorist is killed, the bombs on its chest must be deactivated in 10 seconds or the area around the body, and everything in that area, will take massive amounts of shrapnel, burn, and cut damage.

10 creature maturity names reflecting difficulty levels e.g. young, mature, elite etc. (max. 15 characters):

1 – Beginner
2 - Young
3 - Mature
4 - Advanced
5 - Annoying
6 – Aggressive
7 - Hostile
8 - Violent
9 - Elite
10 – Deadly

Suggested stats and parameters for creature based on current creature characteristics on Planet Calypso. Final balancing decisions of the creature will be made by MindArk.

It is rumored that these terrorists use fertilizer, robot parts, and explosive ammunition to create their bombs. If a bomb can be deactivated before it explodes it can be looted and re-used at a later time. Deactivating the bombs requires various mechanical and weapon manufacturing skills that many of Calypso's finest crafters should have. It is rumored that terrorists will detonate the bombs on their chest if they are not killed before they get within 10 feet of a storage unit, auctioneer, teleporter, trade terminal, or any other terminal. They must be killed and the bombs on their chest must be destroyed before they can be allowed in these areas. If the bombs are allowed to go off near the auctioneer, terminals or storage units, the terminals and storage units in question will stop working in the blast radius until they can be repaired (a 1-2 hour timer is put on the terminal before an NPC citizen is put in to the area to “repair” the damaged terminals). It is believed that rebel human forces are responsible for teaching these elite mutants their skills. If it is discovered who the rebel forces are that are responsible for this cruel act against humanity, they must be destroyed on sight! Note: no humans are allowed to destroy human colonist's terminals… so if a colonist tries to use the looted bombs anywhere near a city, or any terminal, they should get a message that says “you cannot use this device here,” or something similar.

porcupod.jpg

I lost the text file for Pocupod. Basically, it's a pocupine that throws needles at you, sort of like the pocupines in another game by another company... The main damage would be stab and electric... it'd sort of do an electric "sleep" mode when not moving that would shock you.

recharger_bot.jpg

Creature Name: Recharger Bot

Creature description (100 word limit): Drones and bots use this bot's resources to recharge their batteries, and make other mechanical repairs. At least ten recharger bots are typically found in each mother ship's core power room. The mother ships themselves actually utilize recharger bots in order to supplement its own internal resources and allow for it to regenerate and obtain resources when on long voyages to distant galaxies. Most drones and other robots can recharge their own health via internal regeneration processes. The recharger can heal nearby robots, as well as its own health, at a much higher rate of regeneration than is normally observed.

10 creature maturity names reflecting difficulty levels e.g. young, mature, elite etc. (max. 15 characters):

1 – Newly Assembled
2 - Beginner
3 - Trained
4 - Energized
5 – Battle Ready
6 – Advanced
7 – Mature
8 - Super Healing
9 - Elite
10 – Maximum Healing

Suggested stats and parameters for creature based on current creature characteristics on Planet Calypso. Final balancing decisions of the creature will be made by MindArk.

Recharger bots are very dangerous since they are equipped to be the very last line of defense to keep foreigners from obtaining robot technology. When other robots issue the command to a ship to self destruct, the recharger bot is the actual robot that initially explodes, which causes the rest of the ship to explode in an organized, systematic chain reaction! Recharger bots are essentially walking nuclear power plants! They use the nuclear fusion and fission reactors that are embedded inside of them to regenerate their own health and the health of any nearby ally robots, and also to power weapons systems, and generate power to feed mother ships' core power supply. It is believed that these dangerous robots can cause burn and penetration damage with their powerful plasma beams that are powered by their internal reactors. It is also believed that they can do cut and stab damage with their sharp claws and metallic bodies, and can cause major acid and shrapnel damage in close range combat when non-essential, partly recharged nuclear batteries and/or battery acid is thrown in self defense. When major amounts of damage has been done to recharger bots that exceed the recharger bot's ability to heal, it is highly likely that a recharger bot may initiate its internal self destruct mechanism, causing intense amounts of shrapnel, electric, and penetration damage to anything nearby.

recycle_bot.jpg

Creature Name: Recycle Bot

Creature description (100 word limit): A recycle bot is often referred to as the "janitor" bot. This type of robot is in charge of cleaning up messes caused by other robots. These robots are essentially overgrown vacuums that collect all stackable robot parts in an area. Since this robot has a large number of spare parts available to it due to its primary duty, this robot is sometimes known to use spare robot parts as weapons. This type of robot's primary weapon is a rail gun that uses melted down robot parts as ammunition.

10 creature maturity names reflecting difficulty levels e.g. young, mature, elite etc. (max. 15 characters):

1 – Newly Assembled
2 - Beginner
3 - Trained
4 - Energized
5 – Battle Ready
6 – Advanced
7 – Mature
8 - Super Cleaning
9 - Elite
10 – Maximum Cleaning

Suggested stats and parameters for creature based on current creature characteristics on Planet Calypso. Final balancing decisions of the creature will be made by MindArk.

The real gun that these robots use is rumored to cause massive amounts of shrapnel damage. As a secondary weapon, the recycle bot is sometimes known to use itself as a battering ram, running over anything that gets in its way, doing impact and stab damage. The more robot parts that this bot collects, the heavier it becomes, the more stab damage it will do as a battering ram. It collects dead robot bodies that colonists have not looted yet.

It is rumored that the loot from these types of bots may be rail guns.

scuttleworm.jpg

Creature Name (max. 20 characters incl. spaces, hyphens etc.): Scuttle Worm

Creature description (100 word limit). Creativity, relation to Calypso story and novelty elements will be taken into account when judging:

The scuttle worm is an amphibious creature that is usually found along the beaches of Calypso. This earth and water based critter is rumored to have a very sharp tale, and a venomous bite. Be very careful if you find a scuttle worm when swimming. It is believed that they are the fastest swimmers on the planet.

10 creature maturity names reflecting difficulty levels e.g. young, mature, elite etc. (max. 15 characters):

1. Just Hatched
2. n00b
3. Slow
4. Youthful
5. Mature
6. Fast
7. Quick
8. Speedy
9. Hyper
10. Elite

Suggested stats and parameters for creature based on current creature characteristics on Planet Calypso. Final balancing decisions of the creature will be made by MindArk.

- Damage is stab/cut from the tail or teeth attack, and acid from venomous bites or poison that is spit like a snablesnot's acid attack
- The acid damage is the "venom". Alternatively, it might be possible to introduce a new damage type called "venom" which does damage every 2-5
seconds for x amount of time that is determined based on a random (dynamic) number ... If the new venom type is added, there should be an antidote for it that needs to be used in addition to the FAP. Using a FAP or Vivo will heal the damage, but that is a one time heal. The venom will do multiple damage attacks in another few seconds for a certain amount of times. The antidote can either be available in the Trade Terminal or based on something that is crafted or mined. The antidote should stop the venom from doing any further damage for a certain amount of time after it is applied. Perhaps the antidote could be made by mixing sweat with fruit so that you are giving both fruit and sweat a new use while adding an entire new market for these items that should boost the economy because currently lots of people don’t always have a regular everyday use for Mind Essence unless they have a tp chip or for fruit unless they are own a whip.
- speed is very, very fast in the water, and very slow on land.
- this is one of the few mobs that is able to survive in both land AND water.

swarm.jpg

Creature Name (max. 20 characters incl. spaces, hyphens etc.): Swarm

Creature description (100 word limit). Creativity, relation to Calypso story and novelty elements will be taken into account when judging:
Tiny, but mighty! Each swarm is an army of miniature, insect shaped, flying robots that have learned to work in coordination with one another to do a variety of aerial feats. Although their formations can be interesting to watch, each flying formation is a battle-oriented maneuver.

10 creature maturity names reflecting difficulty levels e.g. young, mature, elite etc. (max. 15 characters):

1. micro
2. mini
3. medium
4. regular
5. large
6. big
7. huge
8. macro
9. gigantic
10. galactic

Suggested stats and parameters for creature based on current creature characteristics on Planet Calypso. Final balancing decisions of the creature will be made by MindArk.

These tiny robots will occasionally have each unit of the swarm fly in separate directions. When this happens each unit is considered to be on a suicide mission - with each of the hundreds of tiny robots doing one point of damage each as they run in to anything that they hit, adding up to a lot of shrapnel damage when a multitude of these are coming your way. In game terms, the "swarm" is considered only one robot, even though it is made up of many smaller parts (particles probably) - and this one large robot essentially "explodes" and then later reassemble as one unit. They hover in place until colonists approach, and then they start their exploding routine. They also do tiny laser blasts before the explosion, but each beam only does 1-2 points of damage at the most since the beams are coming from individual miniature robots in swarm. They don't really "grow" in maturity, but larger maturity swarms are made of bigger robots in bigger swarms... so the largest swarms should be full of normal humanoid sized robots, and the entire swarm of them probably should take up a space about the size of an eomon. Each unit is called a Swarm Bot when they explode and are individual units. When they are together, there's only one robot and it's called the "Swarm"

tumbler.jpg

Creature Name (max. 20 characters incl. spaces, hyphens etc.): Tumbler

Creature description (100 word limit). Creativity, relation to Calypso story and novelty elements will be taken into account when judging:

This creature appears to those that have not seen it before to resemble a Tumble Weed. However, these are living creatures and are definitely not weeds, and are most certainly not harmless!

10 creature maturity names reflecting difficulty levels e.g. young, mature, elite etc. (max. 15 characters):

1. Just Hatched
2. n00b
3. Young
4. Youthful
5. Mature
6. Old
7. Elder
8. Elite
9. Ancient
10. Master

Suggested stats and parameters for creature based on current creature characteristics on Planet Calypso. Final balancing decisions of the creature will be made by MindArk.

This creature mainly does penetration and stab damage to things that it rolls in to.
