Info to new players and noob shoppers

There are basically 3 types of shopowners:
  1. Those who disregard marketvalues or regular customers, but set their prices well above value and make a living off fast buying from people in a rush. Items here can be very rare or very common. Method is good for players who dont care much about price, but want the item NOW, or simply just want to try out the shopsystem.

  2. Secondly there are shopowners who live off street suppliers of materials and then sell from a shop with a marginal profit. This method is good for crafters and players who want larger amounts of material fast. Often the rate in this shop is above marketvalue, but below Auction buy-outs. Risky in times of falling rates.

  3. Thirdly shops exist with personal/society items and material, looted or crafted firsthand. With no price-increasing links, these shops often have the lowest rates. Still mostly right on or just above marketvalue - to avoid the shop being ripped clean by resellers dumping all the stuff to Auction. Method is good for regular customers who dont want to search Auction for hours for the lowest rate.

First type of shop have very low sell-rate. Often a week or more without a sale. Second type of shop is good in times with rising prices and much craft, while the third often have a steady sales-ratio depending on the type, 5-20 items/day.

Terminology:
Marketvalue - the value of any item today according to average sellingprice. See the ingame item-info or pe-trade.com or my2pecs.com
BuyOut - the possibility to buy an item directly from Auction. Often at much higher rate than average marketvalue.
Reseller - a person who buys stuff at lowest rate possible just to relist in a shop or Auction with much higher price.

Happy shopping! :yay:
