Phu Mining scares me nowadays

Well I have been mining for a while now since VU 7,3 I think and this VU is nice and all but it scares me a bit. Today a thing happend to me that I never whant to experience with a bigger claim, I got ctd when 7 meters away from it (meaning I never claimed it) and as we know by now its probably gone when u log on and drop next bomb. This was only a modest but if this would happen when I have a signi or larger on my finder then a signi I would get really ****** and dont know how would have handled it.

Have anyone else experienced this and what u think about it?

Kepp this in mind u see the words ENORMUS and the arrow points the way to wealth and then a big red screen appears. lol I fear the day comes when someone will experience this

Well it's not actually ctd when you get the screen saying connection lost blaablaa that's just.. well connection lost ctd = crash to desktop when you don't get any warning and PE shuts down and you are back to desktop.

On topic, yes I've had few ctd's while trying to claim the deposit, but usually after loggin back in and rebombing I get the claim. Thank god the tools are bugged cause 9/10 times it shows unknow mineral and unknow size, so you don't know if you just lost rich or tiny

If you drop a bomb, get a hit and couldn't claim the deposit for any reason (ctd, disconnected, killed by a mob), if you redrop a bomb there you'll find the same deposit. But i don't know if it stays there until it get claimed or if it disapears after a few hours...

nope not anymore, of what I have seen/tested anyway. if u drop bomb/probe get a hit and dont claim and drop another after that u cant be sure to get a hit. If Im wrong something here is really bugged

If that were the case, that dropping a bomb after you CTD or get disconnected and it is no longer there, it could well mean, those ores were never there, and is like a lucky dip. Just keep running, dropping bombs/probes and eventually the casino gives you a deposit.

Nah dont think so its actually strange did some testing now and when I dont claim a deposit and just drop another bomb the claim is still there, but as "Tuurijuoppo" said when disconnected or ctd it sometimes (evry time for me) dissapear Donnu what this means if Im just unlucky or another miner follow me around (which isnt impossible theese days). well I will continue test this from time to time.

If someone is feeling rich they could test how long the claim deposit stay when ur still online. phu I dont feel that rich.

I havent experienced anything like this in the new VU. But last VU every once in a while if I turned to quickly or the deposit was on a server border my dectotor would glitch and I would have to re-bomb sometimes if I did not re-bomb the exact same spot it would not show up again. It was easier last VU since you had the blast marks to identify where you bombed . Hopefully they have fixed that glitch with the mining updates in this VU.

If you drop a bomb, get a signal and then CTD(but not because you just got a CTD but because the server restarted - you just didn't notice) you will probably not find that deposit again.

If you drop a bomb, get a signal and press cansel(happens ) you can most likly(100% I'd say) find that deposit again if you drop a bomb nearby where you dropped the first one or further in the direction that the signal came from.

This happened to me a couple nights ago, I hit an Unknown signal and was following it when I got the Disconnect message.

I reconnected fairly quickly, was in the same location with 3 rods I had already claimed in the same area, I rebombed and got the hit again..this time it didn't show an Unknown but rather a Small Erdorium. Was it the same deposit shown previously before the disconnect? Most likely, but who can be sure. I've never had an instance where I dropped a probe/bomb, got disconnecte somehow and didn't re-find the deposit - unless of course it was a server reset but that hasn't happened to me while mining yet.

yes it was the same deposit. when i have peds to throw on the window, when i got an unknown signal, i come to 10-12 meters to deposit, unequip the finder, tho cancelling the search and bomb again. i usually get the clear reading of all parameters.

i think this is THE only place where skills matters: interaction with ur tools and clear reading. maybe also a combo with tools u use regarding the average size of deposits found, but not very sure about the latter.

I friend told me he saw a guy droping bombs in the same spot, he droped like 20 bombs and got 2 deposits

Hmm hthis was intresting, have anyone else tried something like this? Could just be respawn I guess sounds weird anyway though
