Right, so this is a separate thread from that other thread for a reason - this one is about communication, discussing how we (that is MA and players) communicate and see if there are ways we could do it better, including in ways where there would be less misunderstanding of intentions and reasons, less flaming and where we, the players, would get more information and possibly, would be able to provide early constructive feedback. Also, as a disclaimer, these are my thoughts on the matter - not meant to be more authoritive by any means that somebody else's thoughts. In all of this, we denotes players and you denotes the development team.

Tell us about the full scope

Unless some area is going to be redesigned for only visual effects, there are going to be other changes and enhancements. Tell us as much as you can as soon as you can, preferably at the very beginning. If some parts of the grand plan get canceled or changed, you should of course tell us, but the chance that something might not make it is not a reason to leave it out.

This will also give us a good hint as to how much of what resources will be used.

Tell us exactly what is affected

This is so trivially easy - just give the 4 coordinates.

List the things that stay

If you list the mobs that will be spawning after redesign, we will not need to ask if you know about the small Atrax spawn or the Armax spawn or the Fugabarba or the mountain dwelling Tripudions, never mind what becomes of the main attractions of the area.

As much detail as you can, while not going into spoilers

You can tell us if there will be wave spawners, missions, instances, etc, no need to give exact numbers esp if you haven't decided yet. Knowing the ranges is good enough. Don't say 7 missions and then sneak in 2 surprise ones, though.

Dependencies

There will sometimes be dependencies on external parties, including platform development. Flag those as best as you can, so that when some parts get pushed back, dropped etc, we know why.

Previews and teasers

Only make ones that show us something interesting. The preview videos to Harbinger and Beacons were terribly boring, starting off with there being no action. So if you are going to make any previews of the formaicacida cave, make one where a team of people stand off against a horde of chittering formicacida that attack them coming from all corners of the cave.
