Strange : Tier upgrading skills

I discovered something today, may be you noticed it before :

I tiered up 3 items today.

2 firsts ones no problem, i received Tier Upgrading skills :

You have gained experience in your Tier Upgrading skill.
Your GYRO FAP-2 Smuggler has reached tier 1.0

You have gained experience in your Tier Upgrading skill.
Your Adjusted Hedoc Mayhem has reached tier 1.3


But for the last on i got Mining skills lol :

You have gained experience in your Mining skill.
Your Omegaton Power Claw Mentor Edition has reached tier 3.0

(no i was not mining, i did the 3 tier upgrade at twin, first was de fap2, second the Adj MM, and last the Power Claw)

Is it a bug or is it usual ?

It is usual. You get random skills just like with any other profession. I've gotten melee skills from tiering.

thats so strange, i thought i had a bug

Mining skill is a part of Tier Upgrader profession, so it's normal.

I've gotten melee skills from tiering.

And so is Melee Combat.
