Remember that you are a guest on this forum. Posting here is a privilege, not a right.

That's only partially true, since having people who want to visit and sometimes participate is also a privilege.

I'm sure there are a few people who just don't bother posting, because of these rules.

Safara:
Any particular thread closure in mind Ruslan?

Do you really need another example? :D

JohnCapital did not ban himself, he was temp banned by me.
Come on, man. Why ban such a helpful member of the forum. That rule is destructive to say the least. He's probably looking over threads wanting to reply and continue participating.
The only way a mod should get banned is if they start changing the forum background to porn, and even then it all depends on many factors, maybe lesbians are ok. But, that's kinda off-topic.

I agree with what wizzszz has to say, there's gotta be a little bit more room for interpretation. Threads are like people, they gotta be given a second chance.

Sorry for creating another thread I hope it's ok, but as usual, I don't always have time to reply before the closure.

It is a growing concern about the way this forum is going. I do wonder how much pressure MindArk is putting on the moderators to keep the forum MindArk friendly. I have enjoyed the freedom to speak my mind when something has occurred ingame, but now think very carefully before I post.
I now direct my carefully constructed questions to MindArk directly at Entropia Forum....and don't get a reply, but that is their right of course.

There is a lot of frustration ingame and more so from veteran players who just want answers and communication, which we dont get and when we do, I wonder if they have employed politicians?

Drifting off topic, we have waited over 1000 days for Taming. Why such a hard question to answer, why is it so top secret that they cant tell us when it will be back. Surely they have deadlines and meetings about progress of different projects. All they need to say is Taming is on the back burner at the moment as we are directing our efforts on space etc. We as clients then have an answer and leave it alone.

The key to success is open communication and player satisfaction. If the players are not satisfied and there is no communication what should we do?

Regarding why JC was banned. If the admin was to twist a rule according to the person involved then there is no more reason for rules.

It is like saying politicians shouldn't be fined for a speeding ticket in comparison to someone else.

I for one recognise JC's contributions but rules should never be twisted. While his outburst might be agreeable and rare, that does not reflect well especially if not punished.

my 2 pecs.

It was a natural reaction, cause he was limited by how much he could really express himself as a mod.

And now it looks more like this:

God Bless The Rule for the protection it provides us with!

Rules are rules. If he was not banned, people cry. If he is banned, people also cry. So whats a good way to treat this situation? I think it was a harsh to ban him but he was ultimately used as a scapegoat to demonstrate to us that the admin isn't biased (which is a problem some people on the forum are pointing out).

You can explain all you want but ultimately you're saying rules should be applicable dependant on someone's contribution to the forum. People will whine about inequality. All I can say is, the community is headed downwards.

I wouldn't compare it with politics, it's a private forum and I have my full respect for it, that's why I'm trying to help.

I'm not talking about the equality or how rules should be applied. All I'm saying is that a bad rule is a bad rule, no matter who tripped over it last.
The rest is between moderators, if the feel like sadomasochism it's their own right. But, I will point it out (like I'm doing now). :)

I'm not sure why you chose to once again ignore the forum rules and the request I posted in the previous thread you made when I closed it:
