Gamers who want their fix but don't want to pay have access to thousands of games online. Games from simple puzzle games and platforms to MMORPGs with millions of subscribers are available for download or play from an Internet browser.

AddictingGames.com hosts a wide variety of games in several categories. The top-rated I Don't Game is a satirical look at platformers that requires players to think a little outside the box. Red Remover is a brilliant puzzle game that requires players to remove red boxes while saving green ones in the midst of wonky gravity and other obstacles.
Pogo.com requires a signup, but it specializes in community gaming content with lots of famous games including Monopoly, Bejeweled 2, and Jewel Quest. Players can collect tokens, try to win cash prizes, and build an avatar.
MMORPGs can take up a lot of time, so it might be a good idea to find one to dedicate play to. MMO Hut lists and rates a fully bevy of MMORPGs and categorizes them to help players find one that interests them. Runescape currently has the largest subscription base among free MMOs with 10-million accounts. Maple Story is a 2D platform type of MMO that lets users pay money for non-essentials like dressing up an avatar. For players who want to be paid to play, Entropia works on a business model that actually converts cash to game credit and vice versa. In January, it was reported that a virtual space station in the game sold for $330,000. Players in Entropia can farm for money or charge other players to visit their property.
Facebook games like Farmville have become a lucrative business for companies like Zynga which is reportedly worth $3-billion. Searching through the applications, a player can find well-known traditional games like Scrabble and newer ones like Bejeweled Blitz.
