Greetings

I have uploaded a little spread sheet (link) to google in which I plugged in my profession details, more specifically my prospecting skill points as well as prospecting level into a spiral.

I translated the data as follows.

The size of the spiral I left the excel sheet to work out.
The amount of points = my skill points.
The radius of each point on the spiral = My mining tool's radius.
The power, root or log of the spiral = my level in the prospecting profession.

By reducing the power to 1 ie a 1d array which just uses distance, I was able to determine my coverage which will effect hitrate % as well as optimum distance between each drop / claim in order to achieve that hitrate.

Download the sheet, tell me what you think.

I don't get it, is this saying you should put 150m between each drop?

Sorry for not updating sooner...

It appears that adding all your mining location skills together is better than than just using one such as prospecting or surveying.

For example add prospecting, ground assessment and geology together and use that as your point total for ore.

The size of the grid that my skills encompass is that distance in diameter. I am also considering adding 1 to the base level as level 0 divides by zero.

Will post another update when I am home.
