"JetStar Alliance does Xmas at PA"

This is JSA's first Xmas in PE ... and thought we would celebrate it by giving away gifts to new players to bringing a bit more holiday spirit into the game.

Two-thirds of the "Orange Crush" team (Jetboy, MS9, Blood Moon ... aka "Moonie") showed up at Port Atlantis last night (ok, the wee hourrs of the morning for us) and did a "Xmas Gift Giveaway" to the new players. Instead of dropping items in various places this go round, we decided to openly announce that we were giving out free Xmas gifts to new players. This way we had better control of who was getting what.

We decided ... to get a total of 15 Opalo rifles and 15 M2100 pistols from the TT and give them out to those new players who needed a weapon. They had their choice until we ran out. Jetboy and I were on Skype so that we were able to ask each other if so-and-so got a gift already. That way we didn't have anyone trying to take advantage ... although it happened to me, and it was someone I had already given a weapon to.

When we arrived at Port Atlantis ... we were decked out in our Xmas Orange (didn't have anything red and white ... will have to work on that for next year) ...

We made an announcement ... that we were giving away Xmas gifts to Freelancers. Since there's so much trade going on at PA, the announcement moved rather quickly, and no one was coming to the monument where we stood to do the giveaway. Jetboy suggested that I take some of my armor off and look a little more sexy, since that seems to work as a draw in game most of the time (male thinking of course) ... and so I did.

It didn't work at first ... so I suggested to Jetboy that maybe I should "Git Jiggy Wit It" to cause a little stir. He said it can't hurt ... and so I did.

The combination of ... "Gittin' Jiggy Wit It" and making another announcement in the chat window seemed to work this time, since Jetboy realized a crowd was coming our way.

I got excited about giving away Xmas gifts ... but Jetboy said it looked like a stampede and tried to hold them back a bit with some hand waving.

We were so bombarded with people ... that I didn't have an opportunity to get a good screenie of the crowd because the trade window was up all the time. However ... Nity from Church of Lootius was nearby and witnessed the event for a while.

After it slowed down ... and the area was clear once again, I thought it might be a good idea to do an "All Hail to Lootius" to gain an event blessing and to draw more new players to us. I mentioned it to Jetboy, but as I did my first "All Hail" he just stood there.

I decided that Jetboy needed a little nudge ... because he seemed to be a little preoccupied doing who knows what. I told him that if he didn't do the "All Hail to Lootius" I was going to SLAP his ass a good one (I know, sibling violence).

Obviously that worked ... but now we needed to do it together in a united show of respect for the almighty Lootius. *I noticed Nity watching out of the corner of my eye ... so my motivation was two-fold, because I was banking on him going to ViagraFalls and reporting it ... and therefore maybe Lootius would be ever so more generous with the golden sprinkles ... hopefully.*

After the united front ... Jetboy just kept on going, like the energizer bunny. I said enough already, the crowd is running in again.

As each Freelancer stepped up ... we gave our cordial welcome with a wave.

As the crowd dwindled again ... we decided to do a little beckoning in order to get a few more new players over to the monument to give the rest of the weapons away.

However ... Jetboy was so overwhelmed by the activity that he said he had gotten a headache.

I said ... ok, I have just a few pistols left and can save those for the next city that we hit tomorrow. We can call it a night (morning) for now. So I threw a kiss to everyone and wished them well and a "Merry Xmas" ...

Then ... Jetboy and I waved goodbye to everyone and left for our home base at Fort Zeus.

We want to thank ... "Miss Skammie" for getting the Xmas ball rolling, and for inspiring many of us to get on the "Skamta Elf" bandwagon and spread the Xmas Spirit around Calypso. Our Skamta Elfing isn't done by any means since there are many more days left until Xmas, and sliding into cities on the Skamta Sleigh spreading the holiday cheer is a much greater feeling than watching the PED slide off your PED card (even though it's going back into the game ... it's a good cause).

Thx Cassie ... glad you liked the story. I love doing picture stories, and if you check out my other posts, I think you'll find others that you'll laugh your ass off at as well. It's a fun thing to do ... I only wish I had more time to catch up on the ones I need to complete. There will be more for sure.

I was also inspired by all the generosity of the EP/EF community, so I visited PA last night (around 23.30 GMT+1) I haven't been there since I arrived on Calypso several weeks ago. I have been doing Ok and having lots of fun. I did'nt have much to give, but I was able to give a goblin and pixie face mask, an EWE EP-17 and 23 (I think...) to 4 unsuspecting noobs. They probably thought I was crazy.

(I would +rep you, but I can't yet, have to spread some around...)
