A new IRC Network for Project-Entropia has emerged.
It's called PEChat.net and has many features including but not limited to...

ChanServ
NickServ
MemoServ
SSL Encryption
IRC Java Client
Private Society rooms
...and more.

EntropiaForum is supporting PEChat.net by adding their IRC channel for Project-Entropia to our own IRC Java client which can be used by clicking the "IRC:#PE" link in the top navigation bar.

PEChat.net Officially Opens To Community

Project-Entropia’s first player owned and operated IRC network.
Today we open our doors for everyone to come and enjoy the new IRC Network. I hope it will bring many players who enjoy a little more freedom then what we’ve had in the past and a lot cooler features not offered on the other network.
Our web site is http://www.pechat.net

Some things we currently offer here at PEChat.net
Channels:
#Project-Entropia - A General chat room for all things relating to Project-Entropia. (Most all topics of dicussion are allowed)
#PETrivia - Competitive trivia channel with questions about Project-Entropia.
#PEBay - General trading where users can post buy and sell ads.
#IRChelp - IRC help channel.
#PEHelp - A place where you might be able to get help with problems connecting to PE or in game bugs.
Other soc channels can be found here http://www.pechat.net/index.php?p=channels
And yes all Societies can make there own channels.

Features:
Chanserv - Register your own soc channel.
Nickserv - Register your nickname.
Memoserv - Leave messages for friends or your entire channel.
SSL Encryption - Short for Secure Sockets Layer, a protocol developed by Netscape for transmitting private documents via the Internet. SSL works by using a private key to encrypt data that's transferred over the SSL connection. Both Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer support SSL and many Web sites use the protocol to obtain confidential user information, such as credit card numbers. By convention, URLs that require an SSL connection start with https: instead of http: But this also can be used with any type of connection as we are using it for IRC.
More info can be found here, http://www.pechat.net/index.php?p=ircguide

Getting Connected:
/server pechat.net
/server irc.pechat.net
/server 147.175.15.25
Any of these should work, if one does not pick another one. Also most all IRC clients default to port 6667 so no need to add it. If you want to specify a port simply add :6667 or whatever port :7000 another example to the end of the line, no spaces.

There are some other cool features I’ll share with you when you start joining ;)

Please view our rules at http://www.pechat.net/index.php?p=networkrules

The staff at PEChat.net welcomes you all in advance and hope your experience here is a pleasant one, happy chatting.

I'm not here to fight with you Knuckles. Not only do I not know the story, I don't know any story, I didn't even know you were banned. It was simply ment to be funny. Truce, ok?

Knuckles would pick a fight with a stone if he could.

oh YAY! A trivia!

If anyone wants a custom vHost on pechat.net for there soc drop me a msg there and I'll do it. I think this is a fun feature for everyone.
Example: Faustian is ~Faustian@Member.Desert-Rangers.soc
Make sure you've registered your nick first though...
/ns REGISTER password email

I cannot connect, irc.pechat.net aswell as pechat.net is unknown to dns servers here in Holland. I tried 5 different DNS servers with 2 seperate computers... And connecting pure on IP-address results in disconnects on ports 6667, 7000 and 9999.

:-(

For everyone who is having issues with the DNS ... it is being resolved ... for now just connect the IP adress directly ... its 147.175.15.25 ports 6667 for plain text IRC and port 9999 for SSL

thanks ....
