First a big thanks to all that have participated. I hope you all had fun.

And a big gratz to the winners:
Gallyon Luckycharm Sundstrand
Oleg
Mike Mio Lava
Rippy

I step forward as the proxy for the Monomyth event. (don’t wanna break the EULA):D
Why?
I think the biggest reason was that I was bored. The storyline had kind of stalled, the only thing that caught my interest the last year is the Orbs, but why must it take more than a year to come to a conclusion. You might think, ”Ahh, the egg” and say there is no need for an conclusion. I wanted a small event where people could work together and at the end actually get to something. On the way I hope I have educated you a bit about Greek mythology (where many of the names on Calypso comes from) and other things. And also taken some of you to new places. When I did my EU magazine www.ubermag.eu I had a puzzle whit prizes donated from kind crafters and spacestation owners, at the same time the thought of an ingame run puzzle started to grow. Now I felt the time had come to realize an event like this. Due to realtime matters I was forced to start it and I found the new VU as a really good starting point.
How?
I decided to run this on my own, using my own money and not involving anyone else. I have had some help of my tremendous soc mates in PhoenixOmega. Without some of them Thelma and Theodor couldn’t be able to go to certain places and there had been an PA event. Except TP running Thelma and Theodor I had some other obstacles to overcome. How to create ingame puzzles. I used most of the ways possible to put text ingame. The tickets was the hardest ones, very small space to put text, high cost and a stupid rule that forced me to change the texts. You can’t post event ticket with similar names, I guess that’s god in one pint of view, but if you try to create an ingame event like this it was just pain and frustration. To create the signs that was posted in the auction Theodor had to require an estate… and then we have the rule with full repair to be able to use them. I had to pick and find signs with lowest TT value. The only free place to post text was the Monomyth society information, that was only made to blow smoke and introduce Theodor to you. I was quite impressed how fast you guys found the soc, I think it was just hours from creation until it was posted here at EF. The ad screens was my biggest disappointment, sometimes it took 24h for my messages to reach you. Imagine my frustration waiting for you to find it. I read how Razer been staring at the ad screen for an hour without seeing anything, and at the same time knowing that you just spent 30 ped sending a message that no one sees. The signs in the auction was the biggest frustration, it took you about three days to find them, even though some of you stated they have looked. I almost got banned from EF while I tried to prove for you that it was possible to read text on signs in auction. In the end that clue here on EF did lead you to the last place. It was hard to find places to be undisturbed and watched while creating ad screens, creating/posting in soc, move avatars etc. - I found some new calm places while doing this.
Smoke!
The soc was 90% smoke, the scope and gun was 100% smoke. But I think an event like this need some smoke to increase the joy. I loved the question ”Is MA running this” and I answer ”The company Mind Arks is not responsible for this”. A sentence like that can be interpreted in so many ways, and you didn’t hesitate to grab that bate.
Unsolved?
The only thing you didn’t solve was not needed to solve since it was just an extra clue for the airstrip at KABQ that actually have four strips, the one I was after was named 8/26 (eight/twentysix, I couldn’t use 8/26 since that name was to close to another event).

All in all it has been my best spent 2K PED in a long time.

I will reward the hardworkers with EFD, (come back later with more info)

And the prize in the end was 4 places on a beacon where these 4 will share 100% of the loot. (come back later with more info)
EDITED:

The beacon was great fun. 2 friends form PhoenixOmega followed and we brought Ata along. She didn't get anything from loot, just a fun halfhour with great people.

The four winners got 2.6K resiude, 37.70 PED(2 flares and lots of armour) + some robot parts worth about 20-30 PED each. So all in all not a bad end of this.

EDIT2:

I have now reread most of the forum threads regarding this and spread some love in form of EFD.
These are the guys I found worthy:

Razer
aia
Fizbinthemagi
Atalanta
Shadowman3001
Brother Rick
GeorgeSkywalker
AlphaGeek
Valand
Fairy
Blob
Richard Devil

I gave them 1-2K depending of hard work. If you feel that I missed someone please let me know.

EDITED 3:
If someone still have the tickets, I would love to get one of each just as memorabilia.

EDITED 4:
If someone missed everything but would like to read up;

was fun . . .

even if i was no 6 at place :(

Nicely done, Nirfu! Was a fun event, we salute you! :beerchug:

oh is it gone now ? I was looking about 1.5 hours ago. Then it still existed (still with everything blank) and I was wondering already why it was still there, the 7 days were past.

Theodor oh Theodor, give us a sign please :scratch2:

For once I will quote myself here.
Poor old Ata was sitting there on Sunday afternoon, after the soc was disbanded, begging for : "Theodor, give us a sign please"

You posted signs. Literally. Not just 1 Sign, but two of them. And it took us until Wednesday or so to find them.

So your other post was a clue also .... thought so but could not say it in the thread (that @#@ (censored) spoiler was out by then, but still we were not supposed to know, so I flashed my memory and forgot). I think your post just got locked so soon because the subject of that sign is still a very sore point with the forum admins. Unfortunate coincidence.

I had to pick something like that to get your attention :)

And yes, I laughed at "Theodor, give us a sign please" too.;)

This event had many of the hallmarks of a great adventure... puzzles, red herrings, suspense and more.

Gratz to the winners of the final rabbit hunt. I hope the beacon was enjoyable to those that participated, and that there were no fatalities except for robots.

Nirfu, thanks for organizing this. +rep, and I challenge everyone that reads this to do the same.

AG

Thank you so very, very much for all of this. :ahh:

Even if im not capable of encrypting the codes (and others been exellent on that thank you all aswell):wtg:
its been alot of fun and much to puzzle the brain about

unfortunatley i couldnt be there to meet up last time, glad you seem to have had a great time and if anyone have screenies or film i would love to see them :)

Take care all
Fairy

Brilliant work Nirfu, this was really well put together and very engaging, even though I had no idea about most of the clues, and when I did, someone else had always beaten me to it :D

I hope I didn't spoil anything when I pointed out early on that this was clearly a player-made event, but people were getting carried away with talk of new worlds opening up and so on, I thought it was better to rein it in rather than have people being disappointed.

I always love a beacon so that was a great way to finish up :) I feel a bit guilty that I wasn't one of the people who did all the work solving the puzzles, but that's how it worked out, and perhaps it's a little bit of karma for all the PEDs I've spent running events in the past (and those I will spend in the future :D)

Here youhave some Thelma screenies. I totally forgot to make any Theodor screenies, but I guess most of you prefer a girl...

Thelma waiting at Chugs for a minute or two and no one see her.:D

Thelma escorted from Chugs, some one finds fruit. The rest clean the way for the walking girl. Actually just typing nothing just to add some extra smoke...

Once again Thelme gets escorted (does that make her an escort girl?)
She then jumps to Pandora, TP to Zychion, change clothes and name and then TP to Fort Argos. Run east to prepare the last step.

While Thelma waits for the first person to arive in the race she finds her self a bit to close to some Molisk. To feel more secure she moves a bit east, as usuall walking and stumbles on some Nisit.:wtg:

Luckycharm is really quick and manage to get from the Zychion platform to Thelma in less than 4 minutes.

The last Thelma escort where she surprises everyone by running.

sorry to say this but wth is all this? seems like i missed something

Super mega + rep for awesome initiative. Hopefully MA will take this as a kick in the pants and finish their story lines.

Major +rep

i may have only got in on the last step, but great work and i look forward to another one should you choose to do another!

Great event Nirfu (+rep). To bad I couldn't make it to the last one, but I enjoyed the journey to it :). Lets hope we see more of these in the future.

hello
yes :) tyvm for that event ...:yay:

Rippy

Kudo's Nirfu for running such a nice event.
Pity I could not make it at any of the times.

Also a small Q:
I noticed at some point in time that it was detected that this event was run by Nirfu, but those articles were deleted before I saw them.
Anyone care to explain what lead to that conclusion?

D.

For the girls and for everyone else that will miss him :
Here's Theo :D

Nirfu I could not resist dragging out your healthbar, when you were at the outpost on my 2nd attempt to run S/E to look for Thelma ;)

Thanks for letting me run along on the beacon, that was one thing I had never seen & done before. And of course there was no time anymore to print out the maps (one cannot be "prepared" enough) so I hope I wasn't too much trouble there :ahh:

Casualties ? Noooo .... except that we cannot account for what happened to this poor Snable when this ship blasted off.

D.

I saw only the deleted spoilers and the soc-name. But as you know, girls stay girls and are always too curious.

I tracked it back to this :

Google.
Do a search on the words monomyth and entropia

On the first page of results, there is one entry that is certainly suspicious because it dates back to 2 weeks *before* the event started.

You cannot see this entry in the normal way, when you click it you are blocked by a login screen. But Google wouldn't be Google without the Google Cache. The cached entry is open for public reading.

Baaaaaad spiders ...:whip:

One way, I would have preferred myself not to know it upfront. It was enough to know what we learned at the Tower : is it MA or is it player run. Further details were not relevant for the completion of the event, and it was not nice to see the identity of such good roleplayer exposed in public before the end.

But from another perspective : it did add some funny new layers to the last part of the event too for me. Who knows, who does not know. Don't say anything, don't spoil further. Almost die laughing when admins come in, telling that this is absolutely unrelated and therefore removed. Drag healthbars.

Big Plus rep to you Nirfu for this event, it was well thought out, fun, and engaging. I'm sorry I didn't get to be there for the final one too, nor for that matter participate more but life has been hectic and I seem to be missing lots these days :)

I am impressed! I must admit that I have not been following the Monomyth (just saw a couple of ads on a screen whilst I was crafting) and had thought it was an MA creation. +Rep for you for doing this.

That was an awesome event! And I am happy that that you thought me worthy of an EFD award :D Regretably I couldn't make the latter 2 parts of the event because for the second part I fell asleep and missed it and for the third I was watching tv with my family and somehow forgot all about it :scratch2: But I was following it all the way :) Here's to hoping for more events like this! But don't feel obliged to be the one to do the creating this time, you've earned a well earned rest!

+Rep

Thanks for this fun event ;p

I sooooo hope MA (or First Planet) contacts Nirfu to help them on creating events! :wtg:

To all of you from the bottom of my heart:ahh:

A big thanx for all the nice words, EFD wasn't needed, but I stach them in the vaults for the next time I'm gonna spread some by my self.:grouphug:

Unsolved clue? :duh:

It wasnt me! :umn:

not sure if its relevant, but i found an monomyth-event ticket at the altar of thorifoid temple in amythera a few weeks ago. I :scratch2: riddled a lot what the hack that means, saw there was a players event called so, but was too busy with other things ... the ticket seemed to be expired cause i wasnt able to find any clues where this event takes place. So i dumbed that ticket some days ago in the container of Orthos West Mound.

Was that the ticket with the unsolved clue??? I did not solve it...

There was four kind of tickets handeout, all was expired, the name was the riddle. All is solved except one and that was not needed to solve. Just helpfull if they got stuck.

I'm looking for one of each ticket, so if you hold one of them, please PM me here. I't would be nice to have one of each as memorabilia.

A bump to let more people read the great thing Nirfu did :)

I'm still looking for meorabilia from the Monomyth thing. If you have one of the tickets, please PM me.

a free bump from me and a bit of news.

During my quest to salve the puzzles I contacted some random Icelandic websites to try and get the Icelandic phrase translated. One of them was Icelandic Review Online. I got an answer very fast and the woman asked me if she could use my question in her section of the website, called Ask Eygló. In this section she answers questions from readers about Iceland. Of course I told her she could and asked her to send me an email with the link to the article when it was published. And guess what today she did :)

So here is the link:

Got some free publicity in there for EU as well, I'll send the bill to Marco :D
