Hello,

I have recently installed a new firewall on my system. When I try to access EU through the firewall it wont let me log.

When I try without the firewall in place, i.e. direct connection to the internet, no problems straight in.

My question is: are there any specific ports that need to be forwarded through the firewall?

Settings I obtained from the game site for firewall settings were:

Allow connections on the following ports:
20, 21 (TCP Outbound)
80 (Outbound)
30584 (UDP Inbound/Outbound)
30583 (TCP Outbound)
554 (TCP Inbound)

Ports 20, 21, 30584 and 30583 need to be forwarded

Edit: Exact text from EU.com

Open these ports in your firewall:

20, 21 (TCP Outbound) - Additional TCP Port outbound for passive mode FTP
80 (Outbound)
30584 (UDP inbound/outbound)
30583 (TCP Outbound)
554 (TCP Inbound)

If you have a router, make sure the router configuration has Ports 20,21, 30584 and 30583 forwarded to your computer. Also make sure the firmware of your router is up-to-date (please turn to the manufacturer of your router for any specific questions regarding this matter)

for future reference:

my firewall is an external WatchGuard Firebox SOHO 6

in Custom Services, I added a rule:

Protocol TCP, Port 20-21
Protocol TCP, Port 30583
Protocol UDP, Port 30584

and Outgoing Filter was set to Allow

My last Firewall was one of those and it didn't need any specific rules set up on it to run EU but good to see you're up and running :)
