Fast Trade : a time-saving tool to scan recourses from ingame trade window

Tested the beta version this evening ( not on twin but with a helpfull ava )
These are some remarks:

- Almost every time the trade window was found :)
- about 30-40% off the ore - enm where succesfully founded
- for the stuff not founded the app said there was info sended to you ( hopefully you received it )
- Like you said the app din't count a duplicate recourse ( that's great )
- The app said the total TT but that was scanned and not calced. ( it would be better calced on hand off the scanned recourse, as double check )
- played a bit with gfx setting but that din't changed much
- Why calcing with the TT/ single item ? The trade screen showing the amount off peds the stack is and not the quantity off the stack. ( only suggestion )


That's about it for now. Great i could test your beta. Guess much work to come but a good start for now.

1) Good... the trade window will not be found if its covered with something or if it doesn't has focus.

2 & 3) I've received 51 files in total, 12 new resources added :)

4) yeah thats great but it may cause problems, see next post.

5) yeah, that's the point, calculate total to compare it with the scanned total. I did that one very quickly and i didn't pay much attention to it, so its ok if it doesnt show correct numbers at the moment, will be improved very soon.

6) That really good to hear :D

7) good point ! but i prefer to keep the quantity for later use.
 
I need your opinions!

Problem 1:
Duplicate stacks are counted only once to solve the scroll bar problem... but it can create an other problem: what if the trade has more than one of the same stack? lets say there are 2 stacks of 100 oil each, only one stack will be counted :eyecrazy:
it's rare but it can happen... any ideas?

Himi has a TT of 0.142, the trade widow only shows 2 decimals, plus you cant give 0.001 pec
i wanna know how you traders deal with this? you just ignore the 3rd decimal?

Stacks with deferent quantities are counted separately then stacked together, so no problem there. the only problem is when the quantities are the same. As you said, calculated total TT vs scanned total TT can help, plus you can always add the missing stack manually.

This goes beyond the himi TT, you can get values with more than 2 decimals depending on your MU.
Anyway, im gonna use a ROUND_HALF_EVEN rounding policy if i have to (the value will be off by 0.5 PEC in worse case scenario):
ROUND_HALF_EVEN : Rounding mode to round towards the "nearest neighbor" unless both neighbors are equidistant, in which case, round towards the even neighbor. Behaves as for ROUND_HALF_UP if the digit to the left of the discarded fraction is odd; behaves as for ROUND_HALF_DOWN if it's even. Note that this is the rounding mode that minimizes cumulative error when applied repeatedly over a sequence of calculations.

If i have time i'll use your tool a bit more so you can recieve more info . Can you add wools, hides, .... @ this moment ?
Yes i can upload a new version where a few more resources are recognizable, but your old save file wont work with the new version so you will have to retype all you're MU's... Same thing will happen if i want to add more resources, and that will be very annoying.

I'm making some changes so that the info needed to scan things will be stored online and read every time you open Fast Trade, So whenever there's something added or fixed, all you need to do to get the new info is to restart the application :) and all MU's will be kept :yay:

So, I'm working on this right now, maybe it will be ready in a few hours.

Edit: i'm setting up the online data base and its gonna take longer than i thought... the good news is that this will open so many possibilities for Fast Trade :cool:.

Fast Trade 3.1.0 Beta is now available at http://fast-trade.webs.com/

  • From now on Fast Trade will not start if you're not using the latest version.
  • Fast Trade now gets all the info about resources from an online data base.
  • Save file redesigned to work with future version. Unfortunately 3.0.0 save file will not work with 3.1.0
  • Added more materials (paint cans, the new ores/enmatters, oils, wools, hides ...)



Would be easier if old markup is removed completely when you type your new value
I had a better idea, MU stays but its automatically selected, so you don't have to empty the text field before typing the new value, and you can still see the old value. Unfortunately this caused many bugs and errors, so i removed it for now, will be reintroduced soon.

Very nice idea to setup the databank online ( will save you many updates i guess ). Did some more testing. Took about whole my storage and scanned it, also the wools, hides, paint cans ...

I forgot to mention that i added more materials. The current data base contains all:
  • Ores
  • Ingots
  • Enmatters
  • Refined Enmatters
  • Animal Oils
  • Paint Cans
  • Wools
  • Hides
  • Molisk teeth
  • Foul Bones
  • more will be added...

A total of 233 mats, 89 scannable.

I've just received 178 files, ill go though them one by one and update the data base :)

I know that Fast Trade is still in beta phase, but the more ppl use it the more much needed info i'll receive, and ofc the faster that list will be completed... and when it does, ill add more materials like skins, tailoring mats, beauty mats, textures, extractors, residues... anything you guys want, just ask :D

yeah so do you need any pictures of the missing materials or does the tool do that for you now? :)

Fast Trade sends me info via FTP whenever it scans a material and cant recognize it... all you have to do check "Allow sending information" under Options, which is check by default :)

oki you should have some new ressoure from me then... I tested your tool today and I think it allready runs quite well for the beta. Thanks for the bump for my service.

Data base updated
... 166 / 237 (list)

so is the tool able to recognize these materials now or does that just mean you don`t need them anymore to make the next update?

Currently, Fast Trade supports 237 different materials, 166 of them are recognizable by the scan... the other 71 materials aren't yet. (list)

Whenever Fast Trade finds a mat that it can't recognize, it sends me a little 4.4 kb text file via FTP, which contains all the info i need to make that mat recognizable.

After receiving that file, all I need to do is to update the online data base... et voilà :D! no need to release a new version of Fast Trade.
 
Scanned +- 20 missing ones. 2 errors found so far:

- petonium ingot is found as petonium stone ( no big deal )
- burnt umber paint can is found as cornsilk paint can

Some off the missing list are:

- very rare like rugaritz, dunkel and will take a while to find - scan them
- Some are Rocktropia stuff and is for now not needed much / not traded much. ( and no big deal atm )


Maybe an option that could be introduced :

When all scanning is done and the scanned TT value is different off the calced total value then it should be handy if you could add lines with TT value's and %'s so you can complete the whole trade. There shall always been new stuff in game not ( yet ) scanned.

For example:

The scanned TT value is 200 ped.
Fast trade scan 3 items: 100 ped, 50 ped and 30 ped.
The fourth item is not recognized.

Then you add a line ( or more lines if more are missing ofc ) off 20 ped tt and the % you would give the item.


Maybe coming week i seek for more missing items and scan them. Then i would do some more testing on the already known items and if all is fine then i can start using the tool :)

Very good idea, but I kinda think its alot of work for a temporary solution. I thought about what you said about quantity and I think you are absolutely right, I'm better off working with just TT. I had no chose but to use quantity in Fast Trade pre-crytropia... but now its kinda stupid to keep doing that

yeah that could be a nice feature indeed!!
However it depends a lot on HOW it`s done... it`s not necessarily a good feature as such. :p
Nevertheless I wish you best of luck with it and I`ll try to help of once we know more.

Ooh, so this is still going! :eek: I'm so glad because this is exactly the kind of tool that would save me tons of time as a fledgling trader. I saw the list and I'll be using this tool today, see if I can report any unrecognizable resources. :) Got a few of them from RockTropia, mostly ores and a few EnMatters. (I like my Hurricane Cocktail with Hard Rock :silly2:)
