i suspect you get this because you arent supposed to install the new VU yet.

nope it's a bug, has to do with windows and it wont even run patcher. has to do with windows files if i googled the right stuff.

Im yet downloading
I run with vista 64 bits... I'll install it and check it out once its downloaded

I have same problem. Running Windows 7 64bit.

To avoid confussion, post updated :D

For anybody receiving the side by side error,
regardless of Win OS version your using.

Including Vista x64 and Win7 x64.

I have Vista 32-bit SP2

I think i did all things what was mentioned in previous posts, but not working  im kinda lost with computers anyways so could someone be even more spesific what to do? :scratch2:

Just got told they are still using C++ 2005 :)

Do this first, download and install C++ 2005 redist SP1

Do this second, install security hotfix for C++ 2005 redist SP1

Entropia CE2 Client is x86 (32-Bit) software, not x64.
Please download from the above links the x86 files.

Thanks Much Wody :)

+rep guys it was the Ctt redisributable for me

Downloaded vcredist_x86.exe for Win7 RC 64bit. Works wonders.

None did work for me (Vista Ultimate x64).
BTW...which NET version do you have installed ?
Everything I googled was talking about V2.0 with either SP1 or SP2, but the installed here seems to be V3.0

Worked great for me too, thanks for the great info, and thanks to the man upstairs for having a forum that made my problem go away in less than 3 minutes :D

Consider this an excited bump for a helpful thread ;)

V3 has all the patches that 1 & 2 has & new features, its a recursive update.

If it did not work, all I can advise is to go into program manager,
UNInstall the components mentioned, C++ redistributable (And the hotfix for the redistributable <-- the hotfix you uninstall first ;))

And then reinstall a-fresh.
C++ redistributable SP1 + hotfix for SP1

Hopefully that will work for you.

(Also the same with the MSXML if you have that installed as a component)

V3 enhancements of .NET should not be causing the issue for you.

Links updated in the earlier post.
Keep in mind Entropia CE2 is a x86 (32-Bit) release, not x64

Thanks for posting, this seems to be a known problem with BITS (Background Information Transfer Service) and thanks for the fixes :D

I've got 64bit Vista. Ware you saying EU will not work with it at all :scratch2: Or do I install EU to to another folder? I'm so freaking confuzzled.

See if it works after doing those two.

Same as above post.
Also for anybody using Vista x64-bit or Win7 x64-bit ;)

Just need to download and install the x86 (32-Bit) version of C++ 2005 redistribuitable SP1 & Hotfix.

Thank you for clarifying that. Tried to + rep you for it but apparently I need to stop being stingy and speed some rep around ;)

+rep sent! ONce I installed the patches it worked like a champ!:D

Blackjack :cowboy:

I fixed the issue by unstalling all c++ from my machine, and EU 10.0. I then reinstalled EU 10.0 and it installed the entire C++ package that I needed.

Well... Having some issues still...
1)Downloaded the new VU
2)Had the ClientLoader.exe error
3)Checked this forum and Downloaded thous :
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) -INSTALLED
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update - HAD ERROR ON BOTH INSTALLERS (IA64 AND X64) (This installation package is not supported by this processor type. Contact your product vendor)
4)Still having the ClientLoader.exe error
