Simple question really. I put in a support case about the frequent crashes - by the way, in my case they just about always happen in PA after a few seconds - and part of the reply was to install version 182.5 of the driver software. The trouble is that the current driver file version number is in a completely different format from that and also doesn't correspond to any given release dates.

I am fairly sure that my software is not the latest version, as the date on that is 21/7, I haven't updated since buying the machine and this PC is older than that - bought in June, I think.

I have a copy of 182.5, and also a copy of the latest version. What to do?

Start / Run / enter "dxdiag" / select the Display tab :)

To see what NVidia Driver version you use:

Right-click on desktop, select nvidia configuration panel

There, go to help->system information
There, it will say under display for instance:
Driver version 190.38

Thanks Wody. Strangely enough, I tried looking at that window earlier - just didn't spot that line. :ahh:
