Hello,I am looking for a new game to play because i am bored of the game i currently play and would like to ask a couple questions.I play any ware from 3-6 hours a day.

1.Is the game possible to play with out depositing money because i rather not.by possible i mean if i don't deposit money will it take me like 3 months of playing just to hardly get a gun.

2.If i pay about 15 USD a month will it still take me a while to get started because the last game took me about 1 month to get started and 5 more of repetition just to get halfway good gear.I don't wanna spend months of my time just to be disappointed later. I would like to get some ware a month.

3.Does it work well with vista (32 bit) or will i have a lot of problems.

TY

Dude, seriously now. Try Aion, this may satisfy you a lot more.

Not depositing brings you nowhere nowadays, actually even the only option to make some very few PED w/o depositing is disabled and $15 is something you might lose hunting in an hour as mid level player. For average mid-level gear you already need $100+ and then you still just are at the beginning.

No need to advertise EU to you since I see what you're looking up, becoming powerful quick and not spending an insane amount of money. In both cases, you probably would fail.

Welcome to entropia world.
Unique game in world with real cash economy and ce2 online.
U can do like me search in all web about others game with this specification but u never gonna find nothing like this one.
U don't need to deposit but later on I'm sure u will do.

Works good with vista 32 bit. Works better with 64 bit :)

For playing without depositing.. at the moment it isn't possible.. There are going to be ways to do so soon but it will take time and dedication.

15 usd a month is a good start and if you do your research. You can do it, but only with dedication and restraint.

This isn't your normal MMO. This one takes a vast amount of knowledge and like in any game, luck. If you think you can do these requirements you will find that the people who inhabit Calypso are kind and helpfull..

I know this isn't the most helpfull response but it is honest. :ahh: If you choose this path, then I welcome you. If you choose not to enter, then good luck with your future endevours, and remember have fun!! :yay:

consider your budget you would use to buy a MMO and a 6month membership.

that would bring you to about 180usd right?

now deposit that amount. It will give u around 1700ped

Buys skills to be able to use a pistol (500ped approx)

korss400+a104 amp.(100ped + 300ped)

buy a healkit and martial armor + 5a plate. about 500ped

go out with 300ped ammo.

Enjoy the game as 90% people do atm and depositing.

KICKSTARTED in 1 day. able to hunt alot of hard creature.

NOTE : u cant buys skills atm. wait a few days it should be available again soon.

NOTE #2: The 170usd you will have invested will still be available thru your skills, and gears u bought. This game is a investment, but take it as a game too, so u dont worry if u lose a bit of money, after that a 15$ monthly investment is something to consider and remember. as u grow ur skills, u worth more.

Ahh, hmmm :scratch2:

On a lot of gaming sites and forums, especially with older topics, you still can google quite a reference that may lead you to think the name as project entropia. I don't think he actually googled for Entropia Universe, but browsed for a mmorpg and therefore found reference to project entropia and entropiaforum.

Maybe he also found old news on treasure island or cnd back then still saying "project entropia".

Dj u there heheheh

That's a bit too much, it is certainly possible, just requires imagination.

True, but not by the usuall means ;) In fact anything is possible with alittle imagination. :D

I'd like to believe that :)

.. then he mentions the $15 a month.

New player, or another idiot setting the basis for an attack, bad publicity.

This isnt my fault, people do it.

anyway, carry on, no offence, Im over suspicious as ever :D

I called it PE because every mmo ever made is abbreviated. Ive played many mmos and have mmo experience.but all other mmos ive seen are at the core the same thing. this 1 seems different. im not trying to make a RL profit just trying to waste my time on something more enjoyable.

There also is a simple reason for what I said. Project Entropia back then got a lot more advertised than EU did in the last two years. Plus all the press releases about Treasure Island and CND. If you really don't know about Entropia and are browsing for a game you rather may find something referrencing to project entropia than to entropia universe. So sad, so true.

And the $15 are a kind of standard price for MMOs on the international gaming market. There are a lot "free-to-play" MMOs and there are MMOs you have to pay fore, and second usually cost around $15 a month.

If you actually are looking for a good community then EU is right for you, but you mustn't expect to be able to ever touch one of the top players or to become an uber player yourself one day. Neither you mustn't expect to get a powerful and well geared avatar in months if not even years, depending what you understand on that. This pattern mostly is depending on your wallet as long as you don't have excessive luck.

alright well thank you for stopping me from wasting my time on downloading the game.

Haha, nicely scared off dj :D

Even still, I don't know if I could recommend EU to anyone new right at the moment, in all good conscience. It's not noob friendly right now. I think a more helpful set of advice (even if you do suspect it's somebody rousing a fight) would probably be to wait a couple of months, then try...

We all know that $15 a month is not going to buy you very much entertainment at the moment, as you can almost spend it looking at a mob, let alone shooting at the damn thing.

Hopefully when things have settled down again, it'll be a bit more noob friendly - at least wait until the mentor system kicks in again!

*thinking out loud*
For cost / amount of entertainment a exange rate of 1:100 instead of 1:10 is allot closer to fair play since loosing 500 ped a day is already al to easy.

huh what where... o did i say that out loud ?

firstly welcome to Entropia Forum.

EU is a game that really is not like many other MMO's, best is to try it and run around to see how it is, with the new graphical update you'll need a somewhat new computer to full experience the looks, if not the gameplay is pretty much the same.

as for your questions
1. yes, but wont take 3 months :p but 1? maybe abit more of hard work to get something ok ish. atm you cant uintill sweating is up again. with 15$ depo once you can do most basic stuff without a problem, but not to deposit will make it slow, if you got good patience go for it =)

2. you can mass depo right away and become "uber" gear wise wich wont help you so much, seriously best to start low in EU and go to mid unless you really want to invest in it :p

3. yes it works..

To various others. if you dont like eu, not even to kindly tell people about itss plusses and minueses but instead "not sorry its bullf*** go play another mmo" ... what the F? :scratch2:

I mean theres just so many things i'd like to say but really? if you go to a car store to buy a car you've heard about the seller wont tell you "its shit mate go to toyota.." and some random guy sticks his hand in the door "I got that car too fuck its awfull just piss off you wanker go get another car!"

just.. even if he is a spoof or not, baffls me how people whine that people are leaving no one joining, well quite obvious, im sure some people stand in the PA spawn telling newbies "game is shit just log off and go away" that would not surprise me for some reason..

/rant off grrrr

If you like casinos and gambling, EU f.k.a PE would be your drug on the spot.

I have played a lot of games on and off line starting with WarCraft. This by far is the best game if you have a little (or a lot) of money to spend. No other game will make you madder or happier than this one. It is not an easy game and I really don't think you can buy your way to the top, 1. it would be too much money and 2. I really think there are things that are needed that are not available by buying them, that is to say some of the skills.

Anyway I don't play as much as I have in the past but I really feel that I am here for the long and I mean long haul. I have been playing about 20 months and just hit lvl 50 in dmg and almost lvl 50 in hit ability with laser rifle. To get to lvl 100 will probably be twice that long. I have also depoed quite a bit but I enjoy the game and having fun is what it is all about.

Hell if it was easy everybody would do it and if you are looking for a kick-ass easy game look elsewhere. We have the kick ass (or soon will when the bugs are finished) but it sure as hell is not easy.
Peace.

I'm going to be honest, people will probably hate on my opinion, but keep in mind that I actively play 8+ hours every day and deposit (up until recently) around 3 times a week ($20-$50 each time). I love EU, regardless if she pisses me off first thing in the morning sometimes, she's still my next ex-wife.
Anyway..

I don't think EU is the game for you for these reasons:
  • 1 - You will spend months doing mundane and boring things to get in a position where you could start taking part in a profession with a comfortable PED cushion (eg: 50ped for armor/gun/fap/ammo) if you choose not to deposit. However, deposit $10 and BANG you're in the action. Played right that $10 could last a while!
  • 2 - You will spend months and months and months grinding. You can mix it up a bit here and there, but ultimately regardless of the activity, it's repetitive click click clicking. Amps in mining do however increase minings 'fun factor' imo, as does team hunting (not currently available). Crafting is the same no matter what you do, with the exception of crafting full condition, but this isn't so much a 'fun factor', as it is a gambling one, which leads me to...
  • 2.5 - You could be disappointed later, this however depends on your experience, or, the "dynamics" aka gambling aspect. Some lose their pants, others start clothing companies (some win some lose, you get it..).
  • 3 - Works fine with Vista now. Well, it "works" on Vista, bugs on the other hand... lol
Then again... the community is great, I don't think I've felt such a tie to a society/clan/guild whatever since my counter-strike days when my team actually lived together. The rush of a global/HoF is crazy, especially when there's an item in the loot window (even better minus an L! :D), the variety of flaura/fauna/sites/sounds is awesome, well, not so much the sounds, but yeah you catch my drift.
EU also offers diversity in business potential through the RCE - many traders and service providers already here and much room for new ideas to come forth!

So as you can probably tell, I love to hate EU.
If you love being stressed about financial decisions (every decision in EU is a financial one) and are man enough to get !!!!! over the years by MA, then EU could be for you.
Otherwise I think you're looking in the wrong place.

2pec.

ps: If you're a casual player (2-5 hours a week), and deposit $10 you will absolutely love EU, in my opinion.

Just telling the truth on his main focus points. Without depositing he'll won't get very far, also not with $15 a month. Further he looks to get a powerful avatar fast, and come on, rather you buy-in for a bunch of dollars or stick with the end of the ladder. That's the reason why most MMO players are better off with real MMOs and not with "virtual universes".

Who knows, maybe new planets may change something, but as it is atm the dude wouldn't have get happy with EU. Better to tell him right now before he wastes his time and money and find out later. And still it's better to have no customers than (close to no paying and) dissatisfied customers, that at least doesn't damage the reputation.

I'm working in the marketing branche for some years, since I'm 15 now. I rather give 50 customers a product they need and can use and tell the other 50 that it won't be useful for them or come up to their expectations and build up some reputation that I treat my clients well,so that they trust on me and come with their needs to me, than sell the product to all 100, 50 are pissed off and won't ever buy something from me again, maybe even spread it.

Well that frightened that guy away! good work. :scratch2:

Yea .. wtf.

Welcome to EF, Wiseguy. :duh:
As much as everyone may talk their shit - we're all still here, plugging along - living inside a virtual world we choose to be in.

No game goes without issues and bugs, especially since implementing Cry Engine - but they are working on it as best they can. It was a huge step forward and sometimes people fail to see the forest for the trees. :dunno:

Calypso and Entropia are amazing and awesome all on their own - but the community here is what makes it so awesome. (despite some of the negativity you will always see on EF)

As for being frustrated from having to skill up or 'grind' - it's something you do in any game - from what I understand. The one major difference I see here in EU as opposed to say WoW or CS - you will be able to get something out of it, if you 'outgrow' the game. You won't get that from spending every evening at the bar, or renting movies, or whatever form of entertainment you choose. :wise:

I've been here 3 years and I haven't been without my complaints - but overall, I would say the time I have spent here is well worth it. I take it for what it is - entertainment with some extra benefits. If I were to leave Entropia today, I could walk away with $5,000 .. but I don't walk away - I stay here because I really do love it. :ahh:

If you decide to download and try it out, there are a lot of newcomer activities that you can partake in that are not going to cost you anything. Mindstar Radio runs teleporters with newcomers, AHR has a 'orange sunday' event for newcomers, and many more things are available in the Client Loader to keep you entertained, without spending a lot of money.

You should also talk to Chery Lady - he is part of a $15/month experiment and from what I understand, pretty successful at it. He might be able to help you along your way figuring out what you can do on that sort of a budget, maxing out fun and activities without maxing out your ped card.

In life you must take chances and risks - you might as well do it in a virtual world that is full of awesome people, fun places, and at the end of the day - you might be lucky enough to be able to pay your real life bills with money you earn from a video game. :yay:

Don't come into the world expecting to conquer it or thinking you'll make 20394839 peds within a month, because you will be dissappointed.
Try it out, have some fun, explore - see where it takes you.

Worst case scenario is you don't like it and have to un-install.

Whatever you decide - best of luck in your real life as well as your Calypso virtual life, if you choose to have one.

Not every potential customer is a potentially satisfied customer. Better if MA/FPC focuses on the customers who may be attracked by reality or change something in the gameplay.

Seriously, what's the point in lying to this guy now, promising a bright future, excitement etc. and he gives then a rant about it later, taking some reputation with him.

It's fact that if you want to play (big) in EU you need a shitload of money. He stated that he doesn't want to deposit, or $15 a month and wants to get powerful fast. And we both now that this amount of wouldn't get him far or powerful in the time frame he stated. So with $15 he's seriously better off getting some kind of real MMO ike WoW, Aion, what I know, just some other mainstream game which die after few years ;)

EU just isn't a "game" or as MA/FPC often calls "service" for the bright mass, but for individuals that like this special art of gameplay where you don't get to max. level 80 by playing two months and where not everyone can have everything. And on that point MA/FPC should focus if you guys aren't going to change the gameplay significantly in a way that makes loot distribution fairer and playing cheaper as it is, less risk of (high) losses involved.

Focus on the people you can hold, not on them you can get.
