Affiliate Program

In the course of the integration of the CryEngine2 as graphics engine for the Entropia Universe this Affiliate Program was initiated. It offers eligible affiliates the opportunity to receive a 5 year, weekly paid commission on the company´s profits of each newly recruited player.
We absolutely differentiate here from other programs as the duration in which we pay the commission is much longer and not just a one time bonus after reaching a certain turnover.

A main characteristic of this program is the fact that these commissions are also paid if the player who originally registered for Planet Calypso decides to play on other planets inside the Entropia Universe. Of course, First Planet Company´s main interest is to keep the participants on Planet Calypso, but for the commission is only relevant that the initial registration was made for Planet Calypso via our affiliate network.

Your advantages
Our affiliates are looking at a market that's still just scratched on the surface and are facing an excellent starting position to take part in the steadily growing MMORPG market environment.

Numerous studies show the fact that basically free games, with special content that needs to be paid, are steadily increasing.
Mindark, the company behind the Entropia Universe and First Planet Company with Planet Calypso recognized that trend very early and developed a game environment with an economy that's based on real cash. Here, participants can not only deposit money from their bank accounts or credit cards, they can also withdraw it directly back without any hassles.

How does it work ?
So, how does an affiliate program look like on a game concept that's basically free, with no download fee or monthly subscription fees ? How does the operator actually earn money ?

Each tool, weapon, clothes, basically everything a player can utilize has a specific basic value. This base decreases by a certain preset amount every time an object is used until it reaches almost zero value and has to be "repaired".

The correlating amount of the in-game currency PED and therefor 10:1 US-Dollars of what the item decays gets distributed 50:50 between Mindark PE AB as operator of the Entropia Universe and the planet partner where the participant has the account registered and pursuing its activities, in our case First Planet Company and Planet Calypso.

Another source of income are fees and commissions attached to the in-game auction and player's shops. Every sale on the auction and shops produces a sales commission that also gets shared 50:50 between Mindark and the Planet Partner.

Planet Calypso attracts gamers
From this revenue First Planet Company passes a certain percentage X onto the affiliates registered on planetcalypso.eu - for 5 years on each new recruited player !

At the same time its irrelevant whether a participant spends money that was obtained by hunting, mining, etc, or if it was deposited via credit card or other methods of payment available. Once the money is used to operate tools and other items its counted as income.

Internal Mindark surveys show that every user grosses an average of about $ 0.50 - $1 per hour on item usage charges.
Furthermore once registered people stay for a longer period with the game, as compared to other online games, until they eventually lose interest and move on to another one.
A substantial reason for that is the non-existent monthly subscription fee.

Also an overly interesting, exciting and always evolving storyline, which actively integrates the players into the past, present, and future of Planet Calypso is maintained by the operator First Planet Company. New planets will also increase players interest in the Universe due to different styles of play and story lines linked to different planets

Prosperous affiliate program thanks to CryEngine2
The graphics upgrade to the popular CryEngine2 is another unique characteristics in this market environment and guarantees our affiliates a big interest on their banner campaigns.

The Entropia Universe and the game Planet Calypso inside of it is still very little known everywhere in the world compared to other online games, mainly because Mindark never really did any active advertising for it. Yet, there are already 900,000 accounts registered, a number that will jump up together with the CryEngine2 upgrade. Well-known new planet partners will fire up the interest and the curiosity for the Entropia Universe too.
Thus, participating affiliates are looking towards an outstanding and long-term revenue stream, just by displaying our eye-catching banners or textlinks with their affiliate ID on related content.

All informations about the Entropia Universe and Planet Calypso that an interested person might want to know can be found on the publishers websites, multi-lingual of course and each new account registration there will be tracked by the affiliate ID.

Always up to date banners, also especially made for ongoing ingame events (e.g. a special christmas event, that got some exceptional prizes), will be provided by us, but also can be designed by the affiliate based upon our guidelines.

Your potential: multilingualism & sub affiliates
Affiliates who want to address clientel that speaks languages other than English can do that too. The publishers website and all the information as well as the game client is available in German, Spanish and French. Chinese and Russian translations are being processed. We currently offer German, Polish and English banners inside the internal area of planetcalypso.eu and more languages are to follow.

In the near future our affiliates will be able to set up own sub affiliate programs. In short, this opens up exceptional income capabilities on a long-term basis which are further described under "income possibilities"

Sooo I geuss even more less loot?

Not neccessarily, online poker does the same thing, called Rakeback, you sign up through an affiliate and they get a portion of the rake you generate(and in return for signing up through them they give you a portion of the money they recieve from the website) This looks like a very similar setup

For me it looks different..
""In the near future our affiliates will be able to set up own sub affiliate programs. In short, this opens up exceptional income capabilities on a long-term basis which are further described under "income possibilities""'

Where does it say they will pay from their own pocket and share their PROFITS and not from the moneypool..
They would generate less dollars per person and I do not see that they are stating that generating less per affliate is valid.
I am seeing the scenario where somone decays 10ped you will get 15% FPC and MA will get 50% but not from the leftovers.
So 1.5 for you
5 for MA
5 for FPC

It should be 5 for MA 3.5 for FPC and 1.5 for you..
But then again, since Mind Ark is a solid blackhole we can only geuss.. anyways I''m not happy with any type of affilate program in such genre where money plays a mayor factor.. smells scammish even though it might not be the case

Panic imo. The purpose of these affiliate programs to for the affiliates to actively pursue getting more users into the game, Existing users are unable to join these affiliates because of this.

Basically FPC goes "You find us new people to play the game, and we will give you 10% of what we make off them"
Affiliate goes out and gets people to sign up using their program, maybe offereing them a free gun or something to encourage them to get into the game, as they will be getting 10% off them for life. Or whatever number they use.

FPC basically takes the hit on the 10%, because without the affiliate program, that new user wouldn't even be playing in the first place. So they decide that 90% is better than 0% of the user.

Most pokersites do this and essentially take the hit for the most part, because getting a piece of the action is better than none of the action.

I do not see any info..
What I really would like is transparancy, since an affilate program has allot of cons, and ofcourse its pros.

You have to understand that people are complaining about the loot(not as always) it has gotten way more severe in the last few months..

People play to pay andhave no clue where their hard earned money goes, so who is going to pay? The players or FPC/MA ?
That's all, and with a few words I think that would not be enough.. some prooves might be in place to give people trust in Entropia if FPC/MA is going to pay.
Trust is the mayor thing that keeps an economy healthy

Panic imo. The purpose of these affiliate programs to for the affiliates to actively pursue getting more users into the game, Existing users are unable to join these affiliates because of this.

I''ll tell you where my panic comes from, it is from the statements about avarage cost per hour, active users, and being intransparant about the figures, prospecs and promisses that were not kept.

If you account all those things, I start to worry because history has shown damage and lack of insight.
this thread is merly a demand for a clear explenation..

at the affilate program it even say something about the registered users..
well good luck with that, the real numbers, active users, avarage deposit and non depositors are the numbers to do the calculations with not with registered users..
Lets say from the 900K users, only 20k still exsist.. what does it say about EU?

So who is going to pay, and how do you show that to the outerworld

BTW I sense in myself a certain agression, what it should be is just genuine worries about how stuff is being handled/ So no attack or flame stuff here..

I''ll tell you where my panic comes from, it is from the statements about avarage cost per hour, active users, and being intransparant about the figures, prospecs and promisses that were not kept.

And all unrelated to an affiliate campaign. The purpose of them saying the cost per hour, and ect ect, is them trying to sell the idea to potential affliliates, all they are saying is "Hey, we have a good game with a nice setup, we need you to go out and find people to play the game so we can make more money. In return for you finding someone to play our game, we will give you a portion of what we profit off of them.

It's not uncommon for a company to embelish their numbers a bit to make themselves look better, nor is it illegal or even sleazy, they are trying to psych people up to get into their system so that they can make more money. Nothing wrong with that.

As far as your questions, Marco just said, its in its infancy, they just came up with the idea, most likely they haven't even decided on everything they're going to do, so the answers just don't exist yet, if you wanna speculate that its going to kill the economy, go for it. I'm going to speculate that FPC will do what they think will best sustain the economy, and also model their affiliate program off of ones that work.

seeing the rate and amount of money being taken from players, affiliate program must be quite profitable.. make a few more Mayhem or extra golden ages... omg :)
dang too bad I dont have a few million bucks for this . but wel if I do...

I have to choose between Mcdonald and EU .. hmmm

wel better Mcdonald lol they sell salades nowadays.. still a bit junk food but wel.. at least they dont serve shit to their customers

(off topic)

Not entirely true.. The salade''s are even worse for your health than a hambuger due to the dressing that comes with it.
If you ever have seen "supersize me" you should see the shit you get at Fastfood concerns.

Ingredients might vario from country since every area has it's destinctive taste and rules

The initial objective of the program is as an offering to companies like ad networks, affiliate networks, large gaming sites and other related media.

They can enter a revenue-sharing partnership with FPC to drive new users to Planet Calypso.

The program is not aimed at individual users. Although referral programs, or buddy programs, are used by other gaming companies, and are of interest, we have not reached a satisfactory model for that yet. This offer is to companies that have large reach at this stage.

It should in no way affect the Calypso economy as it is strictly a business to business offering. And as stated previously, the program is only in its infancy.

Very clear and promissing thanks

:) not gloating but.......

Why not...

Why not go in to the individual basis eventually? There's tons of individuals that are looking for something like this... At the very least you could set up a with an existing affiliate program and use their tools... Linkshare or something similar...

Sounds like they will? :)

LMAO
u wanted to say smt about EU ?:laugh: +rep

The website is extremely fishy, or should I say phisy. It claims to be registered by Frank Campbell of Mindark, which we all know of course. But on the site it doesn't claim anywhere to be associated with mindark or first planet company, and it doesn't have any contact details for them. It just has some info in the terms of use.
However the site claims that everything there legally belongs to some german that I can't find any information about, other than what is on that site.
So, if you register there or give them any details at all, remember that you are really giving it to some random german person, and you are not dealing with mindark or fist planet company.

Is it just me, or is the site mentioned been taken down.

I cant get on to have a look.

Seems 15% is max rate, earning rate in the beginning is 3%
Income Possibilities / Success Stories

As mentioned under "Affiliate Program" in cooperation with First Planet Company we exclusively offer eligible registrants a participation to an affiliate program with an exceptional and unique product, that forecasts extraordinary revenue streams on the short run, middle-term and long-term basis.

The percentage of commission or revenue share an affiliate gets is based on the monthly created turnover from newly recruited players through the affiliate ID link.
It starts at 3% of the income First Planet Company is entitled to and ends at 15% provided specific volume figures are achieved.

As stated before the avarage Entropia Universe participant grosses about $ 0.50 - $ 1 an hour. For our calculation model we use a conservative mean value of $ 0.70 per hour and assume that a user averagely plays the game Planet Calypso for about 2 hours a day, one considerably more and one probably noticeably less.
With 30 days this translates into 60 hours a month multiplied by $ 0.70 which results in $ 42 of expenses for items repairs / decay and auction and shop fees.
Now 50% of these $ 42, namely $ 21 is First Planet Company´s income. To simplify our sample calculation we round it down to $ 20.
Each active player thus may create a turnover thats eligible to the affiliate commission of $ 20.

Calculation details
Just to emphasize it once again. A player who initially registered its account via this affiliate program generates a revenue for the affiliate associate no matter where its activities take place, be it Planet Calypso or one of the other upcoming planets.
Because of the variety of different planets / MMORPGs available inside the Entropia Universe, the staying time and therefor the earnings on each participant will be increased once again which is a crucial key fact in this affiliate program.
With 500 recruited and active players and at 3% commission this leads to already a 300 Dollar / 200 Euro* paycheck each month, for 5 years !

A 1000 users might be 600 Dollars / 400 Euro* and if the 20,000 Dollar turnover theshold is reached, it will be 5% commission, or 1000 Dollars / 700 Euro* a month, again for 5 years.

If $ 30, 000 turnover is reached, which could be roughly 1,500 players, then the commission will increase to 7% or $ 2,100 / € 1450* a month.

From approx. 3,500 actively playing participants or a turnover of $ 70,000 a percentage of 10% is passed over, which means possible payments of $ 7,000 Dollars / 4800 Euro* a month.

If 125,000 Dollars monthly turnover are achieved, which can be approx. 6250 players, the rate goes up to 12% or 15,000 Dollars / 10,400 Euro* per month.

Recruiting about 10,000 active players which may equal 200,000 Dollars of turn-over, sets up the highest possible revenue share of 15% or $ 30,000 / € 21,000 month after month.

The rates at a glance

Turnover Player* Percentage

up to $ 19,999 3%

from $ 20,000 approx. 1,000 5%

from $ 30,000 approx. 1,500 7%

from $ 70,000 approx. 3,500 10%

from $ 125,000 approx. 6,250 12%

from $ 200,000 approx. 10,000 15%

In the past the user solely grew through the word of mouth and new of exceptional sales / events in the virtual universe. Sensations like the auctioning of the space asteroid "Club Neverdie (tm)" in 2005 for eventually 100,000 US-Dollars drew tens of thousands of new players into the Entropia Universe and onto Planet Calypso who never heard about this game before. Many of them are still enthusiastically playing.

*approx. figures, based on the assumed monthly revenue per player of $20. Exact number may be higher and or lower, depending on what the players actually gross per month.

More publicity - More revenue

Now, for the first time and mainly through this affiliate program real advertising will be conducted on adequate websites and magazines and the interest in Planet Calypso is presumably enormous due to the upgrade to the CryEngine2. Right now, there is no other Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game on the market that utilizes such an amazing, exceptional and realistic graphics.

Also in terms of diversity towards game themes the Entropia Universe with its upcoming planet partners and its different ideas of MMORPGs will most likely remain unmatched for a very long time. Mindark, the operator of the Entropia Universe platform is currently leading negotiations with a few very well known companies / brands that want to intigrate their planets into the universe which will again increase the variety and will also create enough publicity to realistically forecast the acquisition of a base of 10.000 active users in a reasonable timeframe for affiliates with the appropriate website content and dertermination to promote this game properly.

What we offer here is the chance to participate in an affiliate program thats never been there before in the gaming industry. It offers fantastic earning possibilities, short-, mid- and long-term based and we want you to be part of the unquestionable success of Planet Calypso from the beginning.

Our affiliates are important to us !

We support our affiliates with our best efforts, e.g. there will always be up to date banners, also specialized towards big ingame events, so they can be promoted offgame to attract new persons too.

Payouts to our affiliates will be executed once a week, as long as a minimum amount of 50 Euros or approx. 75 Dollars is reached. The calculation of the commission is, because the ingame currency is pegged to the US-Dollar, done in Dollars, however on the day of the money transfer the accumulated amount will be converted into Euro using the daily bank conversation rate.

Each newly recruited and actively playing participant creates a steady income over the duration of 5 years.

Individual negotiations concerning the percental commission of maximum 15% are possible under special circumstances and we gladly contact you if you think your internet presence deserves a separete arrangement.

More informations will be provided during the registration to our affiliate program. Please kindly understand that we currently approve each registration manually, may even contact you and also reserve the right to reject applications if your webproject doesn´t fit our program.

The wording implies that FPC will be in fact taking the hit as predicted. 3%-15% is not much at all, they will have no problem with that.

For a comparison, FullTiltPoker affiliates offer 27% rakeback to get users to sign up through their affiliate. Meaning the affiliate has to be getting closer to 40%-50% of the rake their players generates

Pokerstars doesn't use affiliates but has their own rakeback system, in some cases the rakeback can be 110%, but for the most part, the highest level rakeback is closer to 65%, and average players are getting closer to 15%

Don't be alarmed that FPC is paying out 15% for affiliates. It's actually a rather small number.
