Like mentioned before, I will no longer use Skam. I have a new official avatar that Ill be using, which possibly have the longest ingame name, ever;
First Planet Company Community Manager Hanne Gulbrandsen.

( I'm rather happy with not using my additional two familynames. :rofl: )

Skam will be frozen as I don't want to see her purged. I'm sentimental.

Knowing someone dont mean you can get your hand on an item...Its better to be trusted by people...and you can be trusted no matter what lvl or item you got...

I dont think the actual ridiculous requirement for the L fap have something to do with mod fap.If you watch other item , armor and weapon.You will that armor dont have requirement , and the L version of evrything drop a lot...
the L weapon drop a lot too and their requirement is low.also many ul weapon did drop like X5 when their stat could reduce a lot price of MM.
MA didnt bother much with price for imk2 MM or armor...no speaking about PK weapon , most of them are now kinda useless for pk , since lazer L gun that medium player can easy handel are 10 time better (lr 65-66 al 26-29)
If MA dont make the fap situation better for player , it has nothing to do with mod fap , but maybe , with the fact that , if a fap heal less , you will have to fap 2 time , so during that wasted time mobs will hit you more likely 1 more time...making you fap an other time a bit latter...so , by not giving better fap , MA gain decay on 1 more heal , and 1 more hit...this on thousand of player is quite a lot evryday...

The right person, in the right place. Dont think anyone can question your devotion. I'm a little surprised that it took them this long, to actually hire you.

The things you've done in the past to promote Entropia, and not getting paid Amazes me. Congratulations on you're new job Skam, and dont forget to keep sliding thoose blueberry pancakes under the door to Marcos office rofl

When I said "knowing someone" in that context I ment "knowing someone well enough to be trusted". (I did ask around for a resurrection chip back when I needed one, but I got the impression that some people *never* would lend it out to out-of-soc people.)

Also it's hard to be trusted if you don't have a personal relation (pretty understandable because of the scamming risk). So I think, generally, high level items are passed around to (old) socmates and spouses, but to leave that circle it takes *alot* of trust.

As I don't hang out with top-10 soc people, and know the risk of getting scammed, I doubt I have any major chance of gaining trust either.

I once was able to borrow a wormhole chip to play with for a few hours with reasonable collateral, but he who had it sold it and after that I know noone who would do it.

I'll stand by the fresh perspective principle...

Skam knows her version of the universe and it is shaped by the oltimer issues of a developing platform... so in effect she brings nothing new to the universe or the issues, etc... particualrly in terms of a vision to the real problems that exist now... which are new players entering and their expectations.

In fact how can and why should any new player trust someone with the assignment of filtering the information that is so deeply imbedded in "the community" composed of those with whom newer players are competing against and those who are working to keep their advantages.

So the company really gains very little and "the community" of ancient upper crust players gains a spokesperson and information filter for their concerns in the form of one of their own. I'll use this backslapping good ol'e girl/boy, one of us, we now have a voice thread as evidence of that.

She may claim some objectivity but in the end it is, as Chomsky pointed out, it is a natural forming conspriracy of class and visions... which is most threatening in those who control the flow of information.

What FPC has just done IMNSHO, by givng this position to a well established oldtimer embedded in the "the community" of established oldtimers, is to annouce that this planet will be about and focused on meeting their needs and concerns and protecting the interests of you and your friends.

Also by not bringing in someone fresh and not connected in anyway to past issues they missed the opportunity to present FPC as having a new fresh start. I personally would have preferred they brought someone like a died in the wool socialist from Asia living and working in Sweden.


In terms of FPC the die is now cast...

Now we have lost a good player because she has begun to work in MA, she can not act more like she wants or say what she wants unless the MA permit.
It may well be positive that she'll make future deposits (now I talk about money). I do not think she should be allowed to play this game more because she works for the MA and will learn much insider info.

Actually MA employees are supposed to play the game.

Also, she isn’t working for MA. She is working for FPC.
 
Skam, I'm super excited to know you are taking over this job! I'm sure things can only improve from here since you know the game and what the people want. I honestly wish you great luck in this position and really believe that this is one of the best moves FPC/MA has ever made! :) I cheers you (many beers at this point, its hard to keep track) :)

Gl in your new position. It`s a step forward for FPC.

Regarding the avatar issue, some of us know and was already admitted by Marco and other folks at MA that they have both an official and an unofficial avatar they play with to blend in, observe stuff, to eavesdrop, play the game etc.

Therefore I`m pretty sure you are going to have 2 avatars not 1. Ofc some will know who your new hidden avatar will be, others will not. Your new hidden avatar will be also your new playing avatar. Therefore in a way this renounce SKam thing is merely a distraction in the eyes of players that a conflict of interest does not happen.

Everyone want new player , and everyone want new player to be happy and to stay in game...
We all lose all if that game/planet , become just a the land of the old timer...If we just stay a bunch of 2000 old timer player it will die...we all know that...all old timer know it , all medium player know it , FPC know it , and for sure skam know it...It seems you just discover the true of the universe , when everyone know it since years.

Its not in FPC interest , neither is skam interessest and neither is old timer interest , that skam do a bad job and just try to do her job for a bunch of people.

She have to do her job for every one , and she have to make to make sure that all new commer can vouch their concern...
She have to help to puch for old system that create problem to be fixed or finished...but she still have to puch to improve things for new comer...I think there will be a lot of job for her when the quest system will come.Because , from what i did understand ( but maybe i am wrong) , FPC seems to want use that system as major help for newcomer to stay in game...so that system will have to works good , to be flawless, interessing....

Skam and FPC would be shooting themself in foot if they just do how you imagine , make all for oldtimer...

Because a new persone would have to work months and years to understand the whole game and economie...to get all the perspective , and to be abel to grasp what information is very important and what is not...
You underestimate a lot , how the comunauty take care about that game...
Many time the comunauty did ask for a bug that cost MA money , or that create an umbalance in game to be fixed.
Also , for now , everywhere i did go , the one in charge of something is always someone with experience...i think there is a point to that...
I dont know much place , where the young just out of school get the boss chair...usual , before he can be boss of something , he have to wander here and there in diferent position to learn all the basic of the job...
Skam is not the first player to get in MA...I think MA have the experience to know who to hire...and , IF MA keep hiring player when they can , it must have a point...Probably that , someone who play for 3 or 5 year , have a far better understanding of the game than anyone who would just come and read some paper about it.

I agree that it's nice from MA|FPC to choose one of us to do the job but .... in the end, be it Skam or anyone else that we never known, it will be the same. She will say what MA|FPC allow her to say when MA|FPC allow her to do so.

And see what MA did about the famous copy bug there you could make duplicates off a Mod-fap...
There was a bug they knew it and they cheated and MA let them keep the faps and they did lot off profit on this faps and who has to pay for it---> we new players..Coolt MA.:mad:

Thats one exemple between many , and thats why its good skam is there...she know what did happen and what was the result..
The copy bug or many other , did create many problem , and the way MA did fix them was not always the best...There has been issue pointed by comunauty that should have been fix fast , and with a better understand of the comunauty...I do bielive and hope , someone like skam can help to get a better reaction from MA to those kind of issue.

And those who say " hoo but MA is way better now" , i will send them to the concrate worm and the deer mall BS...There is a very big need of someone like skam to move that big MA stone...

As for the duplicate fap storie,what is true , what is myth .. only MA and those who did something know the true.IF the cK did realy hidde fap in see and get them after , i dont know...Maybe some cK did create that story to get some attention.

Well, she will know MUCH better what to tell FPC and MA about what the community wants, and will know who is worth listening to and such... It's all about experience, and it is important here. Skam can interact much better with the community.

Something I hear whiners, and ordinary complainers, mention very often, is the phrase "I bet no one at mindark plays this game"... Now FPC has someone that does, or at least has, played this game :wise:
