I got a tower almost 3 months ago and since then has pretty much been loss after loss after loss,, is this normal after getting a decent hit? I've had a few avg globals and hofs but even then, its all gone within minutes. MA says to match skills and equipment efficiently, I have over 150k skills and have never done anything to exceed my skill levels. I have spent about 30k ped in less than 3 months and looking back I've maybe had 3-4 profiting runs. :scratch2:
Is this normal? Was Marcos alteration of the loot system he mentioned a few months ago just to make it where there was less "no loots" and added fragments? :rolleyes:
MA keeps telling me that they cannot give any details about loot, I dont give two shits how the loot system works nor do I care, its none of my business, but something needs to be tweeked. :D
I guess you can see my frustration, I enjoy eu and have for many years but it just seems like theres got to be a point to paying for the entertainment aspect and flushing money down the toilet.
I hope there arent many of you as frustraited as I am and I wish you all the best of luck.
 
After about 3 years of it i decided it was enough.. towers and big loots come and goes, but the constant loss between those uber loots is massive most of the time. It's fun when u get a 1-2k ped hof once in a while.. not so fun when thinking about u've lost like 20k since the last time u made some little profit.
 
Still to get a tower here, maybe one day after almost 3 yrs now. :yay: :D

But yes, the constant going backwards is horrid.

At least there is something else to do when you need a break where you don't, but forum rules stop me from mentioning the name of the other RCE.

No you're not being punished, MA baits you with jackpots so you will deposit more when you lose it all again. There are the odd exceptions to this which imo are so there is still someone cheerleading the "YEW CAN DO IT" attitude.

I had 3 so-called "uber loots" in a week about a month ago, totalling around 4k PED after MV. Following that my loot nosedived, lost many many more thousands of PED faster than ever before.
I guesstimate I payed (see: lost) a total of around 30k PED towards the staff salary-pool at MA since December.
I learnt my lesson (took a while... 2nd time "learning lesson" rofl) and subsequently cleared and cancelled my personal credit cards. Now I can't deposit if I wanted to (well I could, but my accountant wouldn't be happy tryna justify "Mindark" deposits as tax deductable entertainment lol). I found EU to be incredibly boring if not pumping hundreds in every week... anyways, there's many MMOFPS/MMORTSRPG's etc I've found to keep me busy.
I log in every couple days, glance at the (lack of) PED on my card, logout.
EF is better value for money lol. :silly2:
Been much more productive too! (new tracks comin 3rd weekend of April!!!) :)



I should mention, if I ever drop another bomb, shoot another mob, click another BP and manage a HoF... I'll prolly start to play regularly again but I will never deposit again.

I wonder if its the problem that people spend peds to fast just cause they have them. I guess that alot of people do the stuff they enjoy more then usually after a nice hit cause they got the peds. :scratch2:

I personally didnt notice any difference in loot after my towers. I still see them as bonus to "regular" loot.

Hi, I know the feeling, hit a 22k atrox last September and a few days later an 1.4k ambulimax. Loot stayed good for a while, but when CP got back online it went rock bottom. Now I have been here before, after a good loot for me mostly comes a long period of low loots. I tried the ‘match skills and equipment’ claim from Mindark, only can say it didn’t work for me. Hit a 774 ped leviathan not so long ago, but again after this one, loot went low again.

What I do is keep going, but at a more slower rate, and hunt lower creatures.
Staying away from the bigger creatures, this way I still loose but at a slow rate.
Even manage to regain some losses from time to time.
What annoys me the most is not the losses, but this slows my skilling down a lot.
In 2008 I was able to do around 3 to 5 hunts every day with little losses.
Now I do 3 to 5 every week, and I’m mostly only online for the hunts.
If I want to hunt at the same rate as in 2008, it would cost me around $50 a day.

I know it will turn around again, just got to ride out these periods.
Also I think lately a lot less peds are coming in via deposits, and this has put
EU in it’s own crisis. Only thing we can do now is to ride this one out.

I'd say that they need to collect some cash for servers for the new planets coming soon and MAYBE some decent loot there (to attract ppl ofc)

No offence dude, but when you play like that you cant be surprised you lose....
 
Without seeing any numbers from you it is difficult to know if you are being punished or not. How muc hare you losing on average (including your Towers and HoFs and the values of your skills)? If you are getting an 80% return or more then you are not being punished any more than anyone else.

Not sure what you mean by that, but yes, you are paying for the entertainment aspect, that's where the 20% goes. Thjat's what pays the electricity bills, the salaries, the hardware upgrades and everything else associtaedwith running a mmorpg.
The only hting to recommend if you think you are losing too much money is to play more economically. Don't go on 1000 PED hunts for Proterons, go on 50PED hutns for molisks. Don't go on 2-hour mining runs, go on a half hour run instead. etc. etc.
 
Random thoughts:

1. Losing is normal. 80% is the standard return in all professions across the board, with short-term results in the 50-200% range.

2. Hitting a big one might affect you worse than not hitting a big one. Once you hit a big one, you start expecting it, and lower hits don't bring you the joy it should.
 
Try to keep track of your loots / claims over a LONG period of time. Lets say 6 months. If you find that over that time you lost alot of money you should either :

1. Try alternative ways to get better results. New finders on the areas you usually mine in or another setup of huntinggear. Try going unamped as well
as amped depending on results. Keep a accurate log of all you do and see if changes yields results. Dont bother by individual bad runs or even streaks of bad runs. Its the big picture that counts. Profit is made over time and not on a few lucky hits.
And remember how important it is to get best possible markup on EVERYTHING you sell. In this lays the key to success in EU.

2. If you still dont see any change in results after 6 months and its all loss, loss ,loss you should consider if you got value for invested time and money.
You have to decide if its worth for you to continue.

If you wanna hunt eco choose mob that drops MU stuff, not necessarily proteron.

If you wanna mine eco choose area that drops only stuffs with good markup.

If you wanna craft eco, dont.
 
Most common problem imo is that players change their gaming routine after having a nice hof of some sorts. And due to lack of focus on one area combined with more expensive habits the peds soon sneak away. Happend to me, and I have seen many other do it as well.

But might not be the case here, just sharing my thoughts on the common impression that: "once u get a nice find everything turns bad after that".

Same here lost a lot of peds since VU10 haven't changed my game play either only the amount of time I can play atm and I haven't had a Uber HOF to compensate :(

So MA pull your finger out and send me one ;)

I`ll tell you my story,maybe that will help you..:
After about 80k deposits,and 3years playing i got an ATH (118k),as i was waiting for the tower extract it out i was playing a little bit...
I sold that 118k iron for 128k about,and lost it until middle of febr. 2010 (less than 60 days)!!!!
I used maxed mining finders,maxed guns,middle-eco laser stuff,crafted OA101(L) 100 qr,crafted L bp-s,and just lost and lost and lost...there was days when i lost more than 10k peds.
I deposited 14k ped after i lost all my ATH, and lost that as well.

If you craft in things that have no possible way to profit off markup?

2. I didnt complain about it,i just want that ppl know about other experiments to make theorys ,think forwardly.etc
So if you losing a lot,that doesnt mean you will hit big!!!!
I use to play in casinos,and i was happy i gave up that one,so i`ll carry on EU playing even if i losing.(even if my wining chance with EU way under the casino)

well sounds like we are all in the same boat lol, so dont expect MA to give us all uber loots any time soon. Personally I have quit making depos and am wating for them to do something with the loot problems. Old calypso i was doing fine, new one loots started to suck bad, new planet loots dissapeared(unless you were there hunting). This game is getting real repetative shoot kill and either no loots or totally worthless fragments. And well I have only had 1 uber loot for 800 ped and have depo way way way more than that so well ima go buy a lottery ticket as I have concluded that I have a much better chance on winning with that. I can only hope that anyone starting this game reads these posts and buys a playstation or xbox with thier money as it will be there afterwards and not gone to a ma employee bank account.
