Hi,

correct me please if I do something wrong::ahh:

Proteron Damage is: 25% Stab, 25% Impact, 50% Acid

I want to know if an Eon or a Chronicle Set give me more protection:

Eon: 28 x 0.25 + 22 x 0.25 + 5 x 0.50 = 15
Chronicle: 70 x 0.25 + 13 x 0.25 + 4 x 0.50 = 22.75

15 < 22.75 => Chronicle should be better again Proteron.

Now we are taking a look what the Armor Advicer say:

Can somebody explain me please why the Eon should be better than the Chronicle vs. Porteron? I can´t find a reason.:scratch2:

Regards,
Tony:)

This calc makes no sense to me. You should be subtracting the amounts of the proteron's different damage types from the corresponding protection points of the armor.
Max damage:
Eon: 39-28 + 39-22 + 78-5 = 101
Chronicle: 39-70 (=0) + 39-13 + 78-4 = 100

Minimum damage (all hit numbers divided by 2):
Eon: 19.5-28 (=0) + 19.5-22 (=0) + 39-5 = 34
Chronicle: 19.5-70 (=0) + 19.5-13 + 39-4 = 41.5

Average damage ( (max+min)/2 ):
Eon: (101+34)/2 = 67.5 (Adviser has a smaller value, don't know why)
Chronicle: (100+41.5)/2 = 70.75

Average damage ( (max+min)/2 ):
Eon: (101+34)/2 = 67.5 (Adviser has a smaller value, don't know why)

The adviser doesn't just average max and min damage situations. It simulates hits throughout the damage range (not sure how many simulations, maybe 100?) then averages the results of those simulations. Otherwise your analysis is spot-on.

Interesting, I didn't know that. Assuming uniform distribution of damage, the theoretical average and median value is (max+min)/2 considering the minimum damage is over 1.0. Could you provide a link explaining how the adviser works?

check under discussion tab perhaps?

The challenge comes with the multiple damage types and different amounts protected.

Here's Eon protection -v- prots broken down from max to min damage at 5% intervals:

Notice how it gets closer to the entropedia avg dmg than your calculation. Breaking it down further would give more precision.

I remember some exchange with Witte when he introduced the armor advisor, so a post or too could probably be found with enough searching.

That's the first thing I checked, but there is no Discussion tab on the Armor adviser page :D

Yes that's it, didn't consider it myself. Thank you :)

wow you guys totaly geeked me out almost makes me feel bad about skipping math:D you guys rock!
