The Port Atlantis VCC Rally

Apologies if this has been asked already, but are you going to place a VTOL or something similar for contestants to go around at this waypoint? There is flat ground as you approach this position and the temptation to cut across it (thus leaving the circuit) might be too much for some. If you place a VTOL and say that contestants must go around it (turn left to head west) in an anti-clockwise direction this could remove alot of confusion, and make it clearer if someone has cheated.

...we definitely plan to have a judge at this waypoint. The official will be standing right on the corner behind a line of oil barrels. Participants will HAVE to go counter-clockwise around the official.

:yup: :wise:

Song: There Ain't Nothin' Wrong With The Radio

Sometimes she runs, sometimes she don't
More than once she's left me on the side of the road
The older she gets the slower we go
But there ain't nothin' wrong with the radio
She needs a carburetor, a set of plug wires
She's ridin' me around on four bald tires
The wipers don't work and the horn don't blow
But there ain't nothin' wrong with the radio

I've got sixteen speakers crossin' my back dash
A little bobbin' dog watchin' everybody pass
Dual antennas whippin' in the wind
Lord, there ain't a country station that I can't tune in
She ain't a Cadillac and she ain't a Rolls
But there ain't nothin' wrong with the radio

I got stopped by a cop late last night
Out-of-date tags and no tail lights
He said I oughta run you in but I'm lettin' you go
Because there ain't nothin' wrong with your radio
I got the best lookin' gal in my hometown
I asked her last time that i took her out
Honey, tell me what it is that makes you love me so
She said there ain't nothin' wrong with your radio

I've got sixteen speakers crossin' my back dash
A little bobbin' dog watchin' everybody pass
Dual antennas whippin' in the wind
Lord, there ain't a country station that I can't tune in
She ain't a Cadillac and she ain't a Rolls
But there ain't nothin' wrong with the radio

No, she ain't a Cadillac and she ain't a Rolls
But there ain't nothin' wrong with the radio

Or...

Well, if you're one of the millions who own one of them gas-drinking, piston-clinking, air-polluting, smoke-belching, four-wheeled buggies from Detroit City, then pay attention. I'm about to sing your song son.

Well, I'm not a man appointed judge
To bear ill-will and hold a grudge
But I think it's time I said me a few choice words
All about that demon automobile
A metal box with the polyglass wheel
The end result to a dream of Henry Ford
Well I've got a car that's mine alone
That me and the finance company own
A ready-made pile of manufactured grief
And if I ain't out of gas in the pouring rain
I'm a-changin' a flat in a hurricane
I once spent three days lost on a cloverleaf
Well it ain't just the smoke and the traffic jam
That makes me the bitter fool I am
But this four-wheel buggy is
A-dollaring me to death
For gas and oils and fluids and grease
And wires and tires and anti freeze
And them accessories
Well honey, that's something else
Well you can get a stereo tape and a color TV
Get a back-seat bar and reclining seats
And just pay once a month, like you do your rent
Well I figured it up and over a period of time
This four thousand dollar car of mine
Costs fourteen thousand dollars
And ninety-nine cents, well now

{Chorus}:
Lord Mr. Ford, I just wish that you could see
What your simple horseless carriage has become
Well it seems your contribution to man
To say the least, got a little out of hand
Well Lord Mr. Ford what have you done

Now the average American father and mother
Own one whole car and half another
And I bet that half a car is a
Trick to buy, don't you
But the thing that amazes me, I guess
Is the way we measure a man's success
By the kind of automobile he can afford to buy
Well now, red light, green light, traffic cop
Right turn, no turn, must turn, stop
Get out the credit card honey, we're out of gas
Well now, all the cars placed end to end
Would reach to the moon and back again
And there'd probably be some
Fool pull out to pass
Well now, how I yearn for the good old days
Without that carbon monoxide haze
A-hanging over the roar of the interstate
Well if the Lord that made the moon and stars
Would have meant for me and you to have cars
He'd have seen that we was all born
With a parking space

{Chorus}

Come away with me Lucille
In my smoking, choking automobile

Gotcha, Chrome.

I'm an inattentitive dufus at times!

Yes Dusk you seem to be :yup:. I already stated anyone doing the race in under 10mins & 30seconds to be deemed cheating, so taking such shortcuts would make you go past this time. Also there are more than one official placed around the track I assume 2-3 more, if the officials don't see anyone pass them by but they happen to be at the next official they are eliminated from the race due to cheating or taking extreme short cuts. So we have taken precautions about this.

I see that I'm not the only one thinking about this corner

For the purpose of practice runs, can you please post an image showing the precise placement of this official? (this is why I thought the tree made such a good marker)

Thanks,
Sam :)

, sorry for the grief Sam :p. But thank you for taking such an active role in making it simple as possible for ppl. Be sure to be there on the trial runs with me and chrome to show you around, we will have pics of places where official avatars will be placed with barrels to show for it too.

There are sand-dune-type bumps at WP#3 and WP#4. Participants are supposed to go over them.

I'll hop in the VTOL and take a couple screenshots.
