Is Mindark still allowed to make changes to the loot and/or skill system, and introduce their own new items,

As for the questions, don't have any. The clock will wait patiently as time goes by.
But I do have a comment on planet MJ. Without a doubt I was first in line to shoot this planet down. Sounds kinda cheesy, has got nothing to do with Calypso and gameplay will be....well, I don't know for sure but I'm not to positve. Heard some wierd stuff about dancing a tractor into an early death.

But, even with all these things being true to some extent I do believe planet MJ will do something that other recently introduced planets have failed to do so. And that is : bring in some new players. I'm not saying that's a good thing for Calypso or it's current inhabitants but it could be.

So gl on this new venture, but don't forget where it all started.

SEE Virtual Worlds, which is readying the launch of online worlds based on Michael Jackson and Universal's classic monsters, has acquired "Planet Calypso" from MindArk as well as the company's virtual worlds developer, First Planet Co., for $6 million.
The game generated $428 million last year.
Asuming the article got it's facts right, why would MA sell something that generates $428 mill a year for a mear $6 mill?!? Or did they just forget to sett a starting bid ;)

Other then that others have allready covered my questions.
 
I don't think those were asked yet:

1) Among taming and other features that vanished since new engine we lost mentoring which was promised to come back in redesigned fashion, like all the questions about ETA heres mine, when will mentoring be back?

2) A assume that investment in creating new planet is huge, and i'm sure You're aware of reluctant response of the community to MJ planet, since You admited that its SEE who manages calypso and creates MJ planet doesn't creating new areas on calypso seem a much better idea? so basicly the question is: why invest in new planet when Your firstborn baby is still incomplete?

3) There is a wishlist here on forum that in quite a number of cases contains huge number of great and seemingly easy to implement enhancements and ideas, is there a staff member in Your company thats is responsible for actually checking this thread and passing the ideas for further analysis?

4) There are loud voices lately that MA (i guess SEE now) has abandoned us (the players) and doesn't answer our calls anymore, is the any plan (and i don't mean distant future but next 1-2 months) of enhancing company-players cooperation and dialog?

5) Last question a bit connected to nr 4 i've asked, and maybe an idea or atleast something to reconsider. This is an official forum, yet number of officials beside Hanne, Pioneer, bot and now You it lacks officials. From what i understand players are moderators (which is fine) but number of people who are actually connected with company and to whom we can direct our questions or worries and be sure they will be passed further is scarce, so is there a plan for enhancing forum?

Sorry to say this Jin, but you are one of the players who didn't listen when MA explained the concept of moving Entropia from a game to a platform.

MA owns a technology where companies can create their own virtual environment. The company who owns a planet, can decide which part of the Entropia Game will be implemented.

This means: this is NOT ONE game, it's a set of games and some share skills/avatars, others don't.

No need to blame MA, if you want to stick into the Calypso-Game, you shouldn't leave the planet....

... still I understand your concern, that it's gonna get annoying if you see Michael Jackson HOFs while playing a SciFi game :)
 
What happens to our vehicles?

1) Will there be fixes for the current vehicles? Alot of them are still missing working huds or the ability to be customizable.
2) Will there be more vehicles released?
3) Flying vehicles float in the water still instead of kicking riders and pilots out, will this ever be fixed?

Do you actually care about your Clients or are we all just faceless bank accounts?

Reason I ask is waiting over 16 months for things to be reintroduced does not feel like you care. Giving answers like, 'MA haven't given us any information on when they will be reintroduced', well, why haven't they? You should be asking again and again and again until you get an answer! After all aren't you their client and in turn supposed to be looking after yours?

If there is no intention of these being back in game for yet more months will we be receiving a backlog of compensation in the costs of masks, makeup, fruit, nutrio bars and skills all tied up and useless as the hangar owners keep getting? Also, why are things like makeup, fruit and mask bps still being found when they have absolutely no use?

When will colours be fixed on items of clothing? I still have loads that are incorrect colours. How can several black items still be grey and burgundy be pale pink?!

I agree with Major Carter... Beacons.

Many Many people have been asking/campaigning for the return of Beacons and Beacon missions.

Can you confirm if and when Beacons will be re-introduced?

Does SEE have plans to Upgrade the Beacon system, providing different types of Beacons maybe, which yield different Types of Mission, in different types of location, against different creatures etc?



I also have questions concerning Medusa's Head.

Did MA/FPC/SEE lose out badly on the sale of Medusa's Head? Were you expecting Alot more money for it?

What will be the likely impact on the player community of such a loss?

What plans do you have in the pipeline to offset this loss?

Would we, the player community, be Wrong to fear that general loot level will suffer as a Direct result of the low sale price of Medusa's Head, or will loot algorithms remain as they were?

1) Over time, FPC was surprised by how people behaved during different events, like Landgrab or for example bidding on Medusa. Simply by forgetting that this is RCE. You plan to put more value on RCE aspect, and expect smarter responses from community in future when implementing events, auctions or releases or keep ignoring this aspect?

This graphic engine has great potential, but it was abused. In order to make things look "good", things become hard to use. User friendly environments are a priority for you? (hard to climb hills come to mind... Is a must to have a car that can fly, but still...)

Hi and thank you for this opertunity to ask some questions to the SEE team. I hope you will take the time to read through and answer what you can.

Do you plan to keep marketing Calypso with "investment opertunities", and if so what steps do you plan to take to regain credibility? Im especially interested in the following topics:

- Inside knowledge: What steps have you taken to insure that the number of people with an abusable level of inside knowledge are kept to a minimum, and what procedures do you have for internal control of this? (If not specific, at least a general quote would help)
- Security: What will be the consequenses if SEE or another planet partner goes belly up? Will the planet be taken over by MA, or will it be deleted? If it is deleted what will happen to all avatars located at that planet? Assuming they are moved what will happen to planet-specific items?
- Limitation: With the constant introduction of more land without an equivalent growth in the player base the value of each plot keeps dropping. What are your policies on this? Can SEE release as much new land as they please or are there restrictions? If so what are these?
- Standards: Will SEE cooperate with other planet owners to set standards on things like item and building statistics? For instance I see another planet partner is releasing shops with 1000 item points for a price that is next to nothing. Will SEE stick to their current item count for all estates, or will they change it (either for new or for existing estates) to be able to compete with other planet partners?
- Stability: What steps will you take to correct the turmoil caused by VU 10.0 conversions of land areas and the introduction of iron missions for some mobs and not for others? Some of these changes were so drastic they reduced the value of some land areas by up to 80%. When if ever will you attempt to correct the remaining conversion issues, and at what point will you introduce iron missions for the remaining mobs to balance out the current imbalance?

How on earth do you envision a Planet Micheal, or a Monster Planet, fit into an Entropia "Universe"?
Well, 2 than:
Wouldn't it be smarter to leave these kind of "Planets" completely out of the Planet Roster and put them into the market as Stand Alone Games?

Why am I asking this?
What is going to be left of the Sci-Fi Universe I once started my travels in and which disappoints me more and more regarding the direction it is developing. :(

1 Question, 3 parts.

- Why have you deviated so much from the original storyline of Calypso, and Project Entropia, to instead invest in planets with no coherency to each other, yet with complete cross-integration of things like globals, items, etc.

- Was/Is it your intention to create a second "Second Life" with the way that participants can create content, no matter the theme, with the various Planets being stages for this content creation?

and finally, in relation to these two questions:

- Do you realise (or even, do you agree) that you are alienating the vast majority of your original player base by introducing these new planets? (and those players are the core of your income too) - players who want a Sci-Fi storyline setting with themes of exploration, discovery and danger. Or are you happy to replace these "oldschool" players with new players who are more forgiving of bad gameplay design and bugs, in favour of things like social network integration and such like.

- Do you realise how poor (read: totally shit) your product is compared to the vast majority of other MMOs on the market currently, both big and low budget?
