I stated work on this program shortly after the chat.log was introduced. It started out as just a simple SMS program that would notify my wife, via text message, when I would global/hof, in hopes to get her into playing 
Recently I finished adding two other major functions to the program. So the three things this program does is...
Sends a text message - When you get a global in any of the three professions.
Tier Increse tracking - This tracks: Tier rate, Number of Shots, Damage Done, Weapon Decay and Ammo used. It will save it into an excel file named after the gun and the first 3 tier rates.
Enhancer Break Rate - This tracks: Weapon Name, Tier Rate, Total Shots, Total Hits, Total Misses, Ammo Burned/Shot, Total Ammo Burned, Decay/Shot, Total Decay and Decay from shots that hit.
For now all of the data will be stored locally on your hard drive, in Excel files. The hope is to eventually have the info saved to a database on my server for public viewing. This will have to wait until I have time to code that.
My thinking about releasing this is that we will be able to collectively gather enough data to see if there is a way to put TIR & Enhancer Break Rates into a formula, since MA will not release any info about it
Requirements -
- You will need to download the Galactic SMS program http://dl.dropbox.com/u/26594169/Galactic%20SMS.zip
- For the SMS stuff to work you will need to install the SMTP component from Ostrosoft

- You will need Excel on your computer. I have Excel 2002 on my machine, but I am pretty sure any version should work.
- I am not sure what, if any, Microsoft frame works or redistributables will be needed. If you have any problems let me know.

The only time this program connects to the internet is when you start it. It will check against this file http://dl.dropbox.com/u/26594169/Version.txt to see if there are any updates.
