Paavo's mining log

Not everyone gets the same results with the same amount of cycled :)

And I really doubt there are other places with these kind of avg. markups. Close maybe, but there's always some lower markup materials like lyst, iron, azz and such around :) I like it so that all of the materials has good markup as if I ever gonna hit a bigger claim, I rather want to be sure I get a good markup one.
i can get >99% of narc+nik in an area, less than 1% the odd low lyst and the high azz, but of course for that you need more finders
in other i can get 100% gazz+belkar+caldo and i can even change ithe difference distribution i get using different finders,as i pls depending of markup, mainly beetween belkar+caldo because aim at gazz would put me in range of other stuff i dont want
one of the most common mistakes of most miners its that they dont use the best finder for each area, many ppl aim at depth when thats wrong
for example in your area oyster i could use a lower finder depending of the price of the belkar ( many times a year i would do that as same times belkar is higher than nik )
and chant and dance for the glory of lootius also helps

Yeah, that's why I use f105 on oyster and vrx2k on shinook.. but those your areas are still around the same avg. mu than what I'm getting now ;)

Maybe I should look for other areas with around the same avg. mu to have a change in views  It's been ages since I really explored where is what and now I have forgotten lots of places :silly2: I do know a few better avg. mu areas but they are not on calypso and I'm not really into transporting stackables in space

nice log
do you take note of hit rate? may be good to add it, i think you have it lower than normal as you seem to mine in 2 of the most overmined areas and that may explain your 83% back little lower than i would normally expect for that amaunt of turnover
happy mining

So, you believe in "overmined areas"? (smile.jpg)

Put me in that list too. Well, Xelo is heavily camping them also.

We all doing something wrong?

but for example in oyster if belkar is higher than nik i would use a lower finder than 105 i would use a rusty undervalued z1 seeker, right the tt one as belkar can be found from 5m

cant understand why ppl dont uset more often lower finders than f-105

and btw both areas i said i mine i can do a pleasent carpet bombimg ( no mobs ) through a mostly plain terrain and are at calypso

yes i do believe it has somekind of difference in your returns might be a low one, dont think the 90% is fixed i believe there are somekind of minimun but that can be different depending if system think you did something right or wrongs, wrongs paying lower than rights
somekind of bracket araund 80s%-90s%
also the more hits the more chance to ath, so hr also influences your chance of ath

Theory, theory, theory.

My favorite before was double-bombing (though, now I sometimes do octa-bombing, no joke), now my fav replaced with higher HR= more chance to ATH. (smile.jpg)

Especially, when I mine in any places, "overmined" or not, and my hitrate is strong 25%.

I love amount of theories. And they all working for someone, haha.

It's interesting that you can you can get 99% Narc + Niks in an area, when there is no area on Calypso that has that kind of ore distribution.

And the "right" finder(s) would not allow for that, because every finder has a depth range spanning hundreds of meters. Not only that, but the low MU ores can be found at 5m all the way down to 1000+. So if there is more than 1% Lyst...you will get more than 1% Lyst, no matter what you do with different finders. It would only be possible to get that much Narc + Niks if the actual distribution is, in fact, 99% Narc + Niks.

I'm not saying you don't know more about mining than me, but you seem to make it sound much easier than it actually is.

No, Rob. He is right, I know that area. And he is right about finder. He just need to cut out damn azzurdite, it's easy. Even if I am not follower of bullshit like "overmined areas" and such, I will not spoil it there, since I don't like GDs. It's personal problem with socialisation, I think. (reaching his medicines)

I'll PM it to you.

I know this area myself. Its a very good spot. Alot of runs end up with only Narc and Niks. 1-2 hits of lyst/azz when you are "lucky" since they are rare these days. Since you apparently dont belive that finders change your average of what ores you will hit its simply your loss. Nobody said its easy ;).

Hmm, I guess I was wrong. I'm not afraid to admit it. Might have to do more exploring.

An area can have an ore distribution like narc-nik-azz, but what happens when you reach <80 m +- that narc and any other of the ore distribution cant be found at that depth so system gives you the generic ore Lyst, happens the same with enmatter and oil.
