Summary:
The hunt felt bad all the way through, yet somehow I almost cleared on TT. Hopefully this trend will continue tonight. Carabok hides however are super rare now. Normally I would get about 20-30 per 5 PED hunt. Today however only 5 hides.
I will continue with this 5 PED hunt 4 more times, like I mentioned above to get a good trend on my maxed Opallo. After that I will start targeting other beasties.
 
Halix and Ostelok are also cool for opalo and no armor. You can also consider killing Oro if you feel like starting an iron challenge, the first 3 missions give evade, courage and anatomy.

Congratulations on maxing the opalo! :yay:

A little bit of a warning though, you were progressing nicely before the generous donation from viperstrike. Having your ped value doubled overnight can make you overconfident,and you will start thinking that if you profit with small guns you can profit more with bigger guns. This however isn't necissarily the case. But if you keep checking on which mobs work with what set-up you'l do fine.

The herman law-101 from the trade terminal would be a nice upgrade if you decide to follow that path btw.

Thanks for the tip Harmony. Agree that my new bank roll could easily make me do dumb things :) Will however try and keep on my current path, maybe just up my hunt from 5 PED to 10 PED or something like that. Still using my maxed Opalo.

Not getting time at the moment to do this, next week hopefully all will be back to normal.

Summary:
Hunt was nice, but noticed there are way too many people killing Carabok these days. Can definitely see the loot is getting much lower. Or maybe its just the game balancing things out.

Hopefully my next hunt will be in the 90% bracket once again. Still making a lot of progress on skills though :)

Your return seems to be about right, the 75% ... stranglely it is a little more than my average atm doing 400ped runs :)

So keep up the good work, take it slow and steady and enjoy the game ;)

Summary:
Swunting is painful, could only do it for a while and then I unleashed my Opalo once again. Think I got 170 sweat. Glad I decided to go mine, got quite a few big finds. Very happy with my day. :cool:

Not sure how you fair with this, but I am thinking of taking Dtler under my wing for sponsorship over the next few months ....

That being said, it won't be much 100 - 200 ped.

At this time I wish not to get anyones hopes up, it is just a thought.

Dtler, I would need you to be on Calypso though to get money to you unless a kind soul can help out with the delivery each month to another planet. (possibly Cly or Zana from your soc)

As far as i go, I am just logging in a bit here and there over the next 5 - 6 months as I chip up to mid range skills ~ 4k - 5k usd worth before I start serious but progressive play again. ie. TT the least stuff possible :)

Any thoughts and suggestions ?

My reasoning to this is you have put a lot of effort into your log Dtler and it may hopefully inspire others to follow. On a final note, my helping hand won't be huge but it will be enough to get you started out.

Hi there Viper...

Since you asked me... I have no problem with you sponsoring Dtler.
I'm pretty sure Dtler will have absolutely no problem with it either...

It will, to an unavoidable degree, skew his view on how easy/difficult things can be for a non-depositor but having gone that route for 2-3 years myself I can at least help him with the various suggestions and warnings regarding how he spends his new-found wealth :)

It stands to invalidate the title of this thread as well, since while he is not depositing himself, this effectively makes it for the moment as if you are doing so for him... But again, I have no issue with that for the following reasons:

1) It will speed his progress up, and allow this log to record a steadily wider variety of activities
2) It will show what a difference a small but regular deposit can make to one's progress in game
3) It will likely improve the retention rate of at least one player ;)

So I hereby agree to assist you with this sponsorship - regardless of whatever planet Dtler stays on for the short to medium term, any sponsorship you add to his cause will find it's way to him.

Summary:
Due to lack of time, I rushed my hunt tonight. What a bad idea. It seems that spacing your hunt out, helps your return %. Will not be doing this again. So we learn.
Mining once again saved my day. I should remain on the positive side selling my items at MU.
 
You will have to do longer runs before deciding if hunting is worth it or not, 15-20 PED on carabok puny looks like a good sample size to check returns. Right now, with only 5PED ammo what you are seeing is pure random loot returns, 48% today 150% tomorrow but it's not representative of the whole thing.

Or at least keep an eye on total profit/loss and not only on the last run. If your total balance is +181PED you are doing great.
