Greetings .

Now before i start some people will frown upon the way i do this log , so please be prepared, for negative feedback (but i hope people will realise this is aimed at saving PED in the long term and any Markup gained is just a bonus). This is designed not for a non-depositor or sweater, so every hunting run there is a risk, And using a PED Management Hunting System (PMHS), it means that I run the risk every hunt and so on. Meaning my PMHS is always calculated on worse case returns, so therefore im fully prepared for the maximum losses I get and my PMHS is tailored that way.

The idea of the PMHS is to manage worse case scenarios and adapt your hunting technique in that manner, we do not cover Markup in this log..Ive studied the entropia hunting system for almost 5 years and have risked so much of my own money in learning the PMHS, coming up with a simple , effective way to manage your ped. and ofc this may work mining and crafting, but we may get to that later on. From this 5 year study the end result is not the time you hunt, the mobs you hunt, its the area you work in.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UPDATED 03/08/2012

The system is now finished and fully detailed in this thread the parts are as follows

Experimenting with parts the system - Final Test Phase

Part 1 - Managing Peak Loots
Part 2 - Hunting System Changes to Part 1
Part 3 - Risk Management System Introduction
Part 4 - Testing out Risk Management System on Planet Cyrene
Part 5 - Experimenting with the Risk Management System (ended up being costly)

The Final Product

Part 6 - Block Hunting (Ended up being the best way to use the system efficiently)
* Includes a guide on how the final system works *
Part 7 - Ultilizing the Risk Management System to get the best chance at Loot Return
* Detailed information from over 5 years study of the loot system and the best way to hunt *

I may provide some You Tube videos of the system in action later on, after i log additional runs.

Currently Logging Hunting System - updated 03/08 MA time : 22.12

Experimental -1500PED - Campaign 1 : Finished -19913.15 18367.14 (-1546.01) After 166 Runs

Final Product - 1500PED - Campaign 2 : -10874.72 11021.60 (+146.88) After 133 Runs

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now for the first time ever im gonna share this information because i believe the correct way to manage hunting is by managing your peak loots (also known minis/globals/hofs). And try to avoid constant average loot runs (without any peak loots). I will be using a few different weapons in this log but always maxed in enhancers and amps.

I am gonna risk my whole EU future on this system because its been in the making since I started theories back in Jan 2008. I may have to deposit / I may not have to (unfortunately this system is ALL based on MAXIMUM RISK). The PMHS system does NOT account for Armor Decay, FAP Decay, Tagger Decay (or with BLP Setup Ammo for Tagger) and I do not use finishers and also Ammo i loot during the run (but i try to seperate those packs so the gun does not use them. If there is tax in the area the PMHS system is adjusted to compensate for that tax in the area. Ok so lets begin (full details as the runs progress wish me luck).

How to hunt using the Ped Management Hunting System (PMHS)

1) Choose an area to hunt (preferably single mobs) eg. Ambulimax - Neas Place

2) Choose your PRIMARY weapon setup (the PMHS only accomodates the primary weapon)

3) Try to Minimize Secondary weapon costs and ammo

4) Work out how much it costs per shot (my cost per shot is 50pec)
FYI : the PMHS ALWAYS rounds up to the nearest PEC.

5) Next thing is determine your Maximum Risk for the run (How much you can afford to lose) ok after basing many factors lately the average loot return is lower than ever
(is this due to CLDs ?, meaning are we paying a hidden tax to fund these deeds)

At this time im basing the Maximum Risk Threshold at 45% return on average loot (without peaks).

With my setup im looking at a 28pec loss per shot ..therefore

My Maximum Risks are as follows (based on the following setup)

0x0F382C8C91E58C8B24DF - Tier IV - Amp A106 - Eco 2.89
Ammo amount 1000shots - 351.50ped ammo - ~500.00ped TT total - cost per kill 50pec a shot

25 PED Risk - 90 shots
50 PED Risk - 180 shots
75 PED Risk - 270 shots
100 PED Risk - 360 shots
150 PED Risk - 540 shots
200 PED Risk - 720 shots

6) Now after ive chosen my risk amount I go out and hunt until the amount of shots I risked are used up.

7) You loot a PEAK , Important advice. The 2nd peak is normally the most important , it can tell you the trend the loot is going whether (up or down) . Hunt with 50% of your TOTAL allocation, from now on with every PEAK until you hit nothing more.

eg.. you hit your 2nd peak with only 320 shots remaining (you have risked 100ped) so instead of having 320 shots remaining you have only 200 shots remaining.

2nd eg.. you hit your 2nd peak with only 80 shots remaining (you have risked 100ped) so instead of having 80 remaining you now have 200 shots remaining

Tip *most times PEAKS occur early in the runs rather later

8) so there are 2 points to ending your run

a) you have PEAKED 2 times or more during the run therefore you run was either extended or finished early. Then you decide what you want to do after.

b) you got no PEAK loots through your entire shot allocation therefore LEAVE the area. before you lose more ped..lol

9) When cashing in at the TT make sure you cash the LOOTED Ammo (not what you bought) and note the TT amount before working out the cost of the run etc.. Otherwise your results will be inaccurate.

Hunting Tips
* Everytime you get a peak loot mark a waypoint on that spot and hunt the rest of your run around it
* Its advisable to leave the area once you reach your maximum risk , to avoid more ped loss.

A new log will follow on the Area Hunted and the returns of using the PMHS

Cheers:)

ie : I was looking at my post earlier on and it has been simplified due to the loot return is the same calypsowide ..maybe even universe wide.

You might want to rethink the verbage of your new system... "PMS" means something in real life. So perhaps come up with some different verbage :)

Run 1 - Ambulimax
Peak Loots: 7
Cost of Run : 583 shots (291.50)
Maximum Risk : -175.00
Return 437.67 (+146.17)
Balance +146.17
Nice start to the system logging , 7 peak loots including a global - Neas Place Opened Well

Run 2 - Formidon
Peak Loots: 1
Cost of Run : 212 shots (106.00)
Maximum Risk : -75.00
Return : 99.78 (-6.22)
Balance +139.95
On to formidon valley and a little global there to keep the losses down

Run 3 - Ambulimax
Peak Loots: 1
Cost of Run : 161 shots (80.50)
Maximum Risk : -50.00
Return: 49.87 (-30.63)
Balance +109.32
Tried Ambu again at Neas , obviously they stopped paying me for now

Run 4 - Big Allophyl
Peak Loots: 1
Cost of Run : 130 shots (65.00)
Maximum Risk : -50.00
Return: 113.24 (+48.24)

Had a nice little global on Sarahs Allo Farm Balance looking healthy at this time

Run 5 - Formaciadia
Peak Loots: 0
Cost of Run : 202 shots (101.00)
Maximum Risk : -75.00

Cost of Run : 156 shots (78.00)
Maximum Risk : -43.55
Return: 40.46 (-37.54) Risk Recovery Complete
Balance +63.57
A forced run is when you have to run again because the return was under your Maximum Risk. several No Loots and blazar or nova fragments can cause you to run over your Maximum Risk, but like a Risk is there has to be either reward next run , Or recover the loss and pay back the system next run in the same area on the same mob. No reward this time but recovered the debt to the system

Run 7 - Atrox
Peak Loots: 2
Cost of Run : 218 shots (109.00)
Maximum Risk : -75.00
Return: 188.84 (+79.84)
Balance +143.41
Not quite enough to risk a longtooth run yet so maybe another 50ped risk on itumatrox, but at least recovered from those bad formaciadias

Run 8 - Itumatrox
Peak Loots: 2
Cost of Run: 212 shots (106.00)

Maximum Risk : -50.00
Return: 45.73 (-51.77) Maximum Risk Reached

Well in deep trouble on CP im forced to run Dome 2 again !, This run could wipe out todays profit oh well..thats life.

Force Run 11 - Dome 2 Kreltin
Peak Loots: 0
Cost of Run: 203 shots (101.50)
Maximum Risk : -48.23

Its actually taken from our soc member Paulo Manique.... ;) sorry Paulo ;P

This is interesting, hard to follow but interesting

some time ago I tried something like this, after a peak I would change mob or area but in the end I came to that conclusion that it all was just in my head:)

But maybe I was wrong, will surely follow you on this one:)

GL!

Ped Management Hunting System? PMHS? Sounds more like Ped Management System - PMS (probably gets you just as cranky too keeping track of all those details)... good luck.

It was initally PMS , but cause I got a little flack abbreviating cause PMS is also a medical condition in RL, so I had to change it, I didnt want to but in respect to others I changed it.

some women might take offence to you calling it a disease

PMS is a collection of physical and emotional symptoms related to a woman's menstrual cycle... they get moody and shit

Thanks for the feedback ill try to look at refining some parts of the system to make it easier to follow, its been in development for a long time now and explaining it in text is a bit difficult as eventually the system will have a natural flowing feel to it, I have all the stats information everything i need just putting it in text is the hard part , but thanks to MA with the disabled loot window option, i could actually see clearly when you peak now and value of that mini now. Risk Management in the Entropia Universe has been my speciality for many years and now this new loot tool MA has introduced I can now bring this system out from the dark and into the player community and see how its recieved.

I cant win can I ..lol ..Your right its not a disease and my apology and I just edited it , it was just the wrong wording

Please stay on topic - Ive changed the Abbreviation as requested from some people.

I would suggest naming it:
AHT - Advanced Hunting Tracker

Hopefully that would reduce the number of dodo replies.

Regardless of the 'verbiage' used I am interested in following your progress on this... I am still not quite getting all that you are explaining but it is intriguing... Please carry on posting hunt runs.

Ok welcome to Part 2 , ok the replies have come in being hard to understand, also the point has been raised from a couple of PMs and also myself noticing that all the runs go over the Maximum Risk threshold, after analyzing all the runs from yesterday the result of looted ammo was indeed sending possible maximum risk over. Let me explain the 6 runs without peaks and we will adjust accordingly today to see if it effects the outcome, or its a natural part of balancing my risk management system.

A 50 PED Run Based on the system is 180 shots however these runs went over quite significantly and we will look at those runs now. The amount is infact 178 shots but we make it easier entering it into the system at 180, but unfortunately the ammo looted makes you go over that allocation without realising.

Run 5 - Formaciadia
Peak Loots: 0
Cost of Run : 202 shots (101.00) 180 shots is infact 90.00

Run 9 - Dome 1 Aurli
Peak Loots: 0
Cost of Run: 212 shots (106.00)

Run 10 - Dome 2 Kreltin
Peak Loots: 0
Cost of Run: 195 shots (97.50)

Today we will reduce all shots by approx 10% and see what the outcome is, whether we can balance that maximum risk a bit more, this may also lead to saving ped ..after analysing the data from yesterday NO peaks occured in the last 10% of the run. so the table will be as follows

25 PED Risk - 80 shots
50 PED Risk - 160 shots
75 PED Risk - 240 shots
100 PED Risk - 320 shots
150 PED Risk - 480 shots
200 PED Risk - 640 shots

Also today we will disect the run a little more to provide more information so you can understand more

so onto todays data we start the day at +17.72 TT

wish me luck :)

Welcome to Part 3 of revealing this Ped Management System.

In Part 1 we got started familarising you with how the system works
In Part 2 we showed you the trends of how the run plays out

Now in Part 3 is where the fun really begins. I have upgraded one of my selected guns, so therefore it gets more interesting on how a higher tier weapon will do under the system, and whether our maximum risk gets breached today, It got breached in Part 1 on 2 ocassions, but we figured out it was due to inaccurate results because of Ammo Loot during the run, on Part 2 we fixed that problem by cutting 10% of the required run to accomodate that change , it seemed to have worked from run 12 right through to run 34 , as the maximum risk was always enough to cover my losses, even with 5.00% tax on a few LAs so im very happy with that.

Today is where the challenge begins entering into my dbase program the new settings, the program has come up with these Risk Management Settings as below.

0x0F382C8C91E58C8B24DF - Tier V - Amp A106 - Eco 2.89
Shots Available : 1000 (375.70PED) - Maximum TT spent for run is 526PED TT
Cost per shot : 53pec , Maximum Risk Loss per shot : 30pec
10% less shots due to Average Ammo Loot (for people doing melee this does not apply to you)

Risk Management Assessment for those current stats are as follows.
25 PED - 75 Shots
50 PED - 150 shots
75 PED - 225 shots
100 PED - 300 shots
150 PED - 450 shots
200 PED - 600 shots
250 PED - 750 shots
300 PED - 900 shots

* Important Note - For the system to work effectively if you peak during the run and the risk, you MUST risk additional ped. Example , 150 shot risk at 50PED - If you peak at say 50 shots left (1000-900peak) and to add at least another 75 shots to the run you MUST risk 25 extra ped. Unless you decide you dont want to risk it.

However we strongly advise you do risk the additional 25ped and see the run out and hopefully you peak again. (NB: each gun as different risks however), if you dont have additional peaks after peaking at 50 shots left (1000-900peak), you end the run after around about -25 shots (1000-900peak-~825end) and your maximum risk is 75PED.

Remember to SUBTRACT your additional risk AS SOON as you loot each peak, you only have to pay that risk if you go over the amount of shots (Eg 1000-950peak-930peak-~855end) then your risk is only 50PED.

Keep those maximum risk deposits coming into your own system as you hunt because its there to cover your losses, put that PED you risk in storage so you know you have it covered, Personally i set up a Risk Management Account on my database. NEVER use any of that PED in your 'storage' or 'account' to cover TT on any MU you loot or pay auction fees , transport fees, armor costs, enhancer costs, fap costs etc.. That Risk Management Account or PED in storage is your LIFELINE, the system will not work if you start using your Hunting PED to fund all those other liabilities.

Ok on Part 2 we ended up with a healthy balance of +502.02, Today we will show you that this system is not slow boring system , like camping is - but a fun way to hunt and burn lots of ped, but dont deviate from your Risk Management otherwise you will be in trouble. Oh and DONT hunt longtooth thinking you can risk only 25PED. A 25PED risk is only for mobs under 500HP, A 50PED risk can accomodate up to 2000HP, Longtooth however is a MINIMUM 150PED risk, Spiders 75PED, Eomon 150PED, Falx 75PED, Rex 75PED, Proteron 100PED, Levi 100-200PED.

Feel free to ask any questions about Risk Management and ill be happy to help.

Ok ready for Part 3 - wish me luck :)

Part 4 - Planet Cyrene

Ok the time has come to see the average loot on Cyrene compared to Calypso, The Risk Management Program seems to work on Calypso (after 2 parts, first part was testing the system, but Cyrene is another story, after a month being there loot averages there are about 5%-10% under the normal, But today we will risk going to Planet Cyrene and using the same system as Calypso. No changes will be made to the current setup, I will post this also on the Planet Cyrene website after the experiment is complete for this round. Wish me luck :)

As predicted the runs were shocking today

here is the image of todays action (will be doing this from now so i can keep burning lol)

Starting Balance for Part 4 is : +370.00 PED

Run # -- Cost (PED) -- Return -- Profit/Loss -- Cost (Shots) -- Area -- Peaks -- PED Risked

day_4.jpg

Total Hunting Cost in PED : 6719.77 PED
Total Loot Return in PED : 6774.71 PED
Current Balance : +54.94

break time and will continue tonight

Part 5

Looks like yesterday the tier V add-on is too much firepower for the Current Risk Management, lets increase the Risk slightly and see how it goes. Hopefully the additional risk gives us a chance to hit some peaks today.

Primary Weapon used today

Shots Available : 1000 (375.70PED) - Maximum TT spent for run is 526PED TT
Cost per shot : 53pec , Maximum Risk Loss per shot : 30pec
10% less shots due to Average Ammo Loot (for people doing melee this does not apply to you)

Risk Management Adjustment - same stats as above
40 PED - 120 Shots
80 PED - 240 shots
120 PED - 360 shots
160 PED - 480 shots
200 PED - 600 shots

Starting Balance : -98.17 PED

Wish me luck :)

Btw, have you looted and Old Jacks Nimble HK (L) from Old Jack on Cyrene?

Part 5 Continues and more little tweaks to make hunting with the Ped Management System.

Today we have started introducing the Risk Management Scale*
also Ammo Loot percentage will change from 10% to 15%

* NOTE : this scale is for my current setup, everyones Risk Management Scale is different, please reply if you want your scale done (primary gun , all amps, all enhancers used)

Primary Weapon used today
0x0F382C8C91E58C8B24DF - Tier V - Amp A106 - Eco 2.89
Shots Available : 1000 (375.70PED) - Maximum TT spent for run is 526PED TT
Cost per shot : 53pec , Maximum Risk Loss per shot : 30pec
~15% less shots due to Average Ammo Loot (for people doing melee this does not apply to you)

Risk Management Scale (Based on 1000 Shots)

Level 1 40PED - 885 shots
Level 2 60PED - 830 shots
Level 3 80PED - 775 shots
Level 4 100PED - 715 shots
Level 5 120PED - 660 shots
Level 6 140PED - 605 shots
Level 7 160PED - 545 shots
Level 8 180PED - 490 shots
Level 9 200PED - 435 shots
Level 10 220PED - 375 shots
Level 11 240PED - 320 shots
Level 12 260PED - 265 shots
Level 13 280PED - 205 shots
Level 14 300PED - 150 shots
Level 15 320PED - 95 shots

How does it work ? - Ok start your hunt at 40PED risk, each risk thereafter is 20PED the amount of shots left is shown on the scale once you near the maximum risk (without going over) end the run if no peaks, each peak you decide how many levels you risk, its strongly advised when you get a peak under a global only hunt 1 extra level down, the risk is therefore 20 ped more. Another way is keep hunting down the scale until you hit a peak then after that peak hunt a level or 2 down (depending on the size of the peak). If you make it all the way to level 15 you should profit nicely (very rarely this happens though), However every level will cost you an additional 20 ped, so be careful.

Back to business after a break - wish me luck :)

Ok the runs have been continuing with many test phases to make the best formula , It seems going until you peak doesnt work, I learnt the hard way as you will see... Im down on ped now after trying certain methods of risk management . Heres the progress so far and we will then analyse through the results.

Also 40ped runs even with a peak can still result in a unacceptable loss.

40 PED risk is not enough in my opinion (Level 1) and its ALOT of going back to the TT
1. Even with a small mini or average mini (with this setup) is just not enough

however a 100PED risk ($10) (Level 4) yeilded better returns based on risk management

Hunting until you peak is also unacceptable.

So we will go 1 under with Level 3 at 80PED on the risk scale. And we will do it in a block format

Stay Tuned..

Part 6 - Block Hunting

Block hunting is another form of Ped Management, using the Risk Management Table we will hunt only at Level 3 (not above, not below), in this case peaks are very important , but this time we wont track peaks, it will be concentrating on improving our returns. As the above table shows we did some 40 PED blocks and even with a peak gave some pretty poor returns, in this setup we will be only risking 80PED maximum every run. In future we will look at other hunting blocks to find the best formula.

Shots Available : 266 (100.00PED) - Maximum TT spent for run is ~140PED TT
Cost per shot : 53pec , Maximum Risk Loss per shot : 30pec
~15% less shots due to Average Ammo Loot (for people doing melee this does not apply to you)

Our blocks this session will be at Level 3 with a Risk Management Scale of 80PED (around 225 shots)

wish me luck ..

Primary Weapon used today
DOA Rockjacker Mentor Edition - Tier V - Amp Fi/Ra/Co Evil - Eco 2.77
Shots Available : 320 (115.20PED) - Maximum TT spent for run is ~141PED TT
Cost per shot : 44pec , Maximum Risk Loss per shot : 25pec
~15% less shots due to Average Ammo Loot (for people doing melee this does not apply to you)

Our blocks this session will be at Level 3 with a Risk Management Scale of 80PED (around 272 shots) however assuming the loot system is the same as last cyrene visit no BLP ammo loots off mobs so therefore if this is the case there is no Average Ammo Loot.

wish me luck ..
