As the scope of Entropia Life continues to increase both in terms of traffic to the site, amount of users - and size of the code thats running the system, we might want to include more people in the project.
A little about the size of the project.
So, what do we need help with?
Support
As the userbase continues to grow, we do also see more and more support cases comming in.
Since the new site launched a few months ago, we have had about 350 support support cases.
While we can handle those right now, we would like to speed up the support case process - this means more supporters. None of us who are running the site at the moment spend too much time in "the support section".
You dont need any particular skills to become a supporter - except you must be able to write in english.
Programmers/Coders
With the branching we have tried to do with Entropia Life since the new site launched - its getting to the point where its simply "too much for one guy".
We have gone from a purely "tracker" site to a point where we are trying to include several other aspects of an Entropia Universe community site into the system.
Currently we are looking into extending/finishing:
- The blog system
- The soc system
- The event system
- The group system
.. and a lot more...
We are also starting to implement better a better API system via webservices/js framework.
Finally we are looking into extending Entropia Life into the mobile environment as well.
Is this something you want to help with? And do you know C#? (Or "whatever" for mobile phones) then this is for you!

If you really like Entropia Life - why not become an ambassador for the system. Get privileges on the site in exchange for you promoting the site inside Entropia Universe.

As for payment... Entropia Life really does not make a lot of money. If you are in it for the profit - buy a land area.
Even with the planet partner agreement, our self hosting the site and so on. We barely can pay the power bill for the server. On a good month.. I make about 400-500 PED (Before server power costs are deducted)...
In short.. If you want to help the community.. please mail me at admin@entropialife.com then we can figure out how you would like to get involved.
A little about the size of the project.
- Currently there is about 20.000 users of the site, making it one of the largest "player run community sites".
- Over the last month, we have had about 550.000 page views (Not counting in all the client calls to the service).
- Each day we have about 2.500 unique visitors.
- The main database currently holds just over 14 million globals (and a lot of other data).
- The main database is about 6 GB in size.
- The entire system is hosted locally (at my place).
- The system runs on a web-garden environment running .NET 4.0
- At any one point in time we have about 250 people online - peaking at about 350 during European evenings.
- Average load time for pages (including TCP traffic, is 1.1 seconds - according to Google thats faster than 89% of websites they monitor.
- Each week 50-70 new users sign up to the site.
- We have about 2.500 users of the Entropia Tracker Client.
- The Entropia Tracker Client consists of about 5.000 lines of code.
- The Entropialife website consists of 40.082 lines of code in cs/asmx files only
- Each night the entire site and databases are backed up to several locations (onsite and off site)
