The return % is now 108.77 with 13 rounds completed. Total (+) from start = 458.10 PED. 2240 Points Tallied & an average per run of 172.3. So far this is the worst part of it, unless I get another -135 run. Maybe I won't complete the quest at this rate, I wont have no peds left after 13 runs & 4 keys remaining.

I see that u score low points.
I have done 3 runs in catagory 2 - solo and I get about 200 point per run (score so far is 615 points).

I quited because i lost more then 400 peds in those 3 runs, and now i broke.

btw, I hunted spiders with CB24 (L) + beast amp.

For me this is not a race.
I have done 3 runs in catagory 2 - solo and I get about 200 point per run
High dps = more points, I get that.
I quited because i lost more then 400 peds in those 3 runs, and now i broke.
Your broke & I'm not. That's the point of this thread.
Btw, I hunted spiders with CB24 (L) + beast amp.
High markup weapon & a low amp is not a good mix.

Minus the HOF I got I would currently be down by only -185.70ped.

Expenses at 5966.46 PED. So 5966.46 - 185.70 = 5780.76 PED.

5780.76/5966.46 = 96.887% Return on TT+MU. (without HOF)

Doing my last run of the day till I get some more free time.

Run was a complete disaster (time-wise) due to lag and relogs and many other things. I killed 46 creatures :laugh: unreal, anyways I'll post the results of this run soon enough. But really disappointed with what went on today with the server's.

If on the 20th run I get a negative figure, I may as well just hunt the weaker mobs Kerberos. I may just change up the armour a bit and heal alot less so should be cheaper for the last 10 runs to do so with the lame returns I've been getting of araneatrox & yulebot. Anyways thank you all for tuning into my log :).

I'm curious as to how you know you have no chance of placing with these runs? I am in Cat 2 Solo as well, and I am pulling in about 160 points per hour. What do you think is minimum average points per hour to place in the event?

I'm currently just using a P5a + a104. But once that breaks, if I have a chance, I plan on getting a higher DPS weapon. Just wondering if it's even worth attempting to place in the event. I've ran for 7 hours so far.

How do I know? It's simple, look at the "requirements" ie "cap" for Category Two. People will use whatever weapon they can within the requirement. For Cat 2, that happens to be under Lv 50, so the weapons available to people are something like this list I've compiled to the best of my ability/knowledge.

Based on the average dps of cat 2 being let's say 78 dps. 78x60=1min & 4680 dmg x 60mins = 280800 dmg in a 1hour run / 1100 = 255 araneatrox killed x2 = 510 points per run x 30 = 15300 score. So you can see I clearly will not win the top prizes cause most of them are filled by people using such high dps weapons that cat 2 can allow. I would take a guess & say that the avg score could be 450 per run imo.

Ultimately I can't choose this for you but for me its not worth it ped wise. Which is why I'm just hunting at my own pace with mid lvl dps & doing my best loot wise not score wise. The rest is entertainment.

Another negative run, I've no choice but to hunt kerberos, as I cannot sustain hunting at this rate of net loss. I will try a different setup & see how the next few runs fair from my previous 20.

Yes, this is definately strange though. I saved 10-12 ped but I still got a low return rate, even though I killed more mobs more efficiently. I still don't know which is better though araneatrox or kerbs. Although my loss wasn't high, it still was a loss surprisingly, and the loot seemed more balanced out but the % return was no different to runs 7, 15 & 17 etc for Ara mob. But I' am glad your liking the log O2.

Edit: One thing I will add is though my defence was alot lower & my offence higher. I still gained less points than if I did araneatrox which proves my point that it is best to hunt araneatrox instead. Also Kerbs regen alot quicker than Ara so this is probably what reduced my return in the end of it all.

Well I'll carry on with Kerbs a few more runs (4), but if they fail to improve my returns I may as well just go back to Ara and put the warrior face on. I may hof that way but of course it's a gamble & the last few Yulebots I also killed were not anything special if not retarded. I may never touch them again, even though I can take them down fairly fast and efficient now. There's to much risk for the little gain you get.

I will say something more on Merry Mayhem thus far. Though I find this change more fair & civil, it certainly isn't as Mayhemy or Merry as previous years of MM. I'm actually finding this challenge very boring to be honest & I'm getting fed up as well with the returns even though I haven't lost anything yet, it is slightly worrying. I definately do miss the big group orchestrations of past MM events.

I haven't tried any TEAM instances of MM yet & may not ever. But to put it simply, it's no different to a team hunt or even a beacon mission. So why should I join those if it's going to give a similar result in returns? It may not of course, but it certainly is harder to complete vs a solo instance.

In any case, I have no chance in winning in this event but have enjoyed participating in it thus far & glad I could share my findings and adventures with the rest of you on the forum + community.

If anyone has any questions they would like to ask or anything else they would like to contribute about Merry Mayhem then please do in this thread I'm open to discussion & helping out. Thanks so much all!

I'm gonna try sell more of my loot tonight, so I can carry on with this on kerbies. But you are right there, I've not spent any markup hunting in MM so the MU I do make is something better than nothing. The skills I've gained during MM are also a bonus, as I'm getting closer to unlocking Combat Sense 49.40 atm :).
