The Different Types of MindForce

awesome. im about to start usin mf and someone told me that laceratin is a good mf start

It can be... it depends. Some Lacerating chips can be difficult to find, but its the type that currently can reach the highest DPS (you need around level 50 to use that chip though, and by the time you reach that there may be new chips added to the game).

Generally, the electric, lacerating and corrosive nanochips have the best eco, though the differences are quite small. Also, those three have shorter range than kinetic, cryogenic and combustive, meaning you'll get hit more if using them.

Lacerating, Electric and Corrosive are probably better for small mobs, as their mix of high speed and low damage/hit gives them nice DPS without too much risk of overkill. Also remember that when using Lacerating you are getting Cryogenic skills, meaning you can use Cryogenic chips as well with the same skill, if you can't find the Lacerating you're looking for :)

I find it very hard to choose which one to use.
But skilling Electric all the way atm. Kinetic and Electric nanochips has been easy to get hold on so far.
But I almost regret staring in electric now were I wanna use cryo. But if I should start to use cryo I cant hunt the mobs I'm doing atm.

How are the dmg and dps after lvl VII in Electric? Worth keep skilling it? Or change and start over?

I like the high dmg and slow. adding dmg enhancer will give you real high dmg.

Only bad thing is when u get hit and want to heal, u may die due to slow reload.

I can vouch for this.

Source: Using Combustive VII Unl (I get crits of 400+ pretty sweet when I do!) oh and I die a lot haha :p

p.s. Love the charts, good work! Awesome post!

Another problem is that you need a finisher to avoid getting overkill on many mobs. My personal preference has always been the cryo and kinetic chips, as they have a good balance between range, damage and speed imo :)

I like the range and dmg in Kinetic and the Kinetic VII are usefull to many mobs. Since I'm most skilled in electrokinesis I'm using the Electric nano and I will soon be at lvl VIII chip. From there I starting to c a nice change in dmg and speed.

But playing with cryo are awsome with the lacerating chip.

Bumping this up :)

D = Damage (per hit).
S = Speed (uses per minute).
R = Range (in meters).

Each gauge goes from 0 to 100.

I suspect these charts don't apply to higher level chips. Take for example corrosive XI it's Damage and Range is higher and speed slower. I suppose they did that in order not to upset some balance i.e. if we had an extremely high speed corrosive XI with decent damage as well. That would be quite a powerful and useful chip perhaps too powerful :)

What I would like to see is a high speed, decent damage but low range chip. Calypso development are far too sensible so probably will not make such a chip. I suspect when one of the planet partners cotton on this they'll for sure make use of the market demand for this this type of chip.

Actually, the type I personally feel is missing would be a chip with high speed and range... Currently, you've got either high-speed-short-range or low-speed-high-range

Ok let me rephrase it. Personally I would prefer it if they took the extra range out of corrosive XI and placed it in speed and damage.

Meaning as corrosive chips increase in level their range stays the same low value. The extra stats that come with higher levels gets added to speed and damge only. Since corrosive is meant to be a close combat chip this makes more sense.

As it is now as chips increase in level they could all converge towards one generic chip with little differentiation between them. For example corrosive chips are confused about their purpose i.e. are they specialist in range, speed, damage? would seem neither when they are at higher levels.

To be honest, I really don't think that's a problem.

Even the highest range Corrosive (the V) has only 22 meter range, while the lowest range non-Corrosive (Electric IV) has 23.1 meters.

As for attack speed, the slowest Corrosives are still quite fast (there are some Lacerating that are faster than the X-XI corrosives, but they are also high speed low range chips, and Corrosive I-IX are the fastest chips there are).

So to sum it up, you're correct but I don't think it is that big a deal :)
