Hey All

There are so many other games that have popped up over the years and then disappeared and EU is still here, lets face it the biggest asset that EU has is the loyal playerbase... ie all of you. Yes we might grumble and groan but we are still here.

So here's the question..... Why?

Why do you play EU?

I was thinking about that question earlier and i really dont know. I grumble about the rce and the cost to play, but i play. I hate having to depo and then find myself thinking about expensive items. I guess the financial commitment ties us in for a longer than average period.

Is it the RCE that gives EU its longevity?
Is it the casino aspect? anyone could hit a big one at any time..... probably ;)
Combine these and its a potent mix. Its certainly a love/hate relationship for me
Is it the social aspect? after all the community is the biggest asset
Is it a pure money making exercise?

I guess i came back to eu for social reasons, to catch up with old friends, but tbh i am really not sure whats sucking me back in.... maybe its a bit of everything

What about you?

Only (quality) RCe around..we give MA a hard time, for their mistakes. But at the end of the day, they are the only game in town and with out EU there would be nothing special about gaming anymore. Id probably still be farming wow gold or some other games economy to sell on ebay....yawn

Hee,hee good post.

I think deep down it's players wondering at what stage will their skill gain trigger something extraordinary.

The RCE aspect is very appealing too.

Short and sweet but that's it, in a nutshell.

Raging addiction and sweet sweet nostalgia for PE.

I'll never leave. I've been institutionalised. Run while you can!

Couldn't have said it any better and is exactly why I play the game as well. Deep down we as well play the game just to see what next months bugs will be. Come on all you know you do. :wtg:

I participate in Entropia Universe because I am attached to my avatar and the people on my Friend List and this is the most entertaining and deep online world I have found. With the RCE component, Entropia can even change your IRL monetary position (for better...or worse - if you are not careful). The digital world and physical world are bound together. I like that.

Because I like it, shortly put.

I am here for the realcash economy, when they start to fuck up things because of "some players dont plan to withdraw anyway " or similar shit they really risk players like me

This ^. I never knew when I started how much I would come to enjoy a strangers company. And we all share that common goal of ATH ;)

I play because RL is stressful.

I need a game I can sit back and unwind on. EU is my relaxation. When I want to take my mind off of RL, which has been stressful for me many times in the past few years, I open up a game of EU and hunt/mine/craft while listening to my music :)

This game doesn't require me to be super fast with my fingers, or require me to be paying attention all the time :p I love that I can multi-task, listen to some great tunes and chat with some good friends!

Because the real cash economy makes people more aware/careful.

The challenge.

And yes, its a love/hate relationship.

The RCE makes it interesting as every action becomes an important one. Remove RCE and i wouldn't be here.

The RCE also brings in the mature ( well mostly at least) minds into the game. Hence the social bit and remove that and I would be gone. I think the community is a big part of why people play this game besides the rce.

I dont really consider the game a gambling so i guess whatever you (OP) consider a gambling can be removed without it affecting me or my sentiments for the game.

Overall, EU is horribly addictive and amazingly seductive. I guess i should stop elaborating..

I've always liked the design elements of PE/EU and the good loot that happens once in a great while. I find myself inspired that EU is still around and always seems like it will be a work in progress. Yeah it can be frustrating and some changes seem counter productive IMHO but I still enjoy exploring making some PED and at the end of the day if I want to scale back and withdrawl I can. There is a strange sense of freedom with EU and personal accountability that other games lack as well as a more mature playerbase all over the world. I will continue to play in some form or fashion as long as MA and the PPs keep generating great content that is fun.

Yes, I love the exploring aspect of the game :)

Which is why I NEED to get my little butt over to Cyrene! And Soon!

Because I don't have to pay a subscription and if I was I'd have cancelled it bloody quick.
