What is the best movie you ever saw and why?

Poolhall Junkies - And I dont even like pool! :O

Dunno why.. it just stuck with me!

Lost Highway

Memento, but only works the first time you watch it so enjoy it if you haven't.

As for a movie I would watch over and over again that's The Big Lebowski, don't know exactly why.

Forrest Gump

Since the film had all of that life can offer both the best and worst.

Porn isn't allowed i guess? :ahh:

I'm not able of choosing a best movie, but recently i watched "Adam's Apple" and i really like it.
Why is it worth watching ?
-It's not a bajillions dollars hollywood movie, not it's a tinny danish movie
-They isn't a stupid love story only because it have too.
-You wan't see how the movie will end in the first 10 minutes
-They is a happy ending
So if you have some time go watch it.

Another film i watched recently is "La haine" (The hate)
It's a good example of the what I call "masturbastion intelectuelle cinephile"( You can google it), it's not funny, it's about the suburbia, and it's in black and white, but, it's a really good movie about being nothing, doing nothing in the huge suburbia of Paris.
I would recommend it for everyone who want to see another parts of the life in france different of the one in the postcard.

Best movie i've ever seen is cast away

Here are my fav 5 films of all time:

"Some Like it Hot" old black and white film (managed to get a DVD). Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon, Marilyn Monroe. Fantastic gangster comedy, still cracks me up laughing every time I watch it.

Shawshank redemption, great twist at the end, with Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. Morgan's narration throughout the film is truly epic, his understanding of humanity and that sense of wisdom you gain in order life I connect with on so many levels. I often compare this film to a great friendship I have with my boss. Probably one of the greatest films ever made.

Pulp Fiction gangster film with Quentin Tarantino. With John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis. It's a film, within a film, within a film. The humour and story is amazing. It's one of those films you need to see about 5 times and really get to know the characters to really enjoy it. My favourite Tarantino film. Zed's dead baby...Zeds dead....LOL..incredible.

The Matrix, you either love or it, or just don't get it at all. I often relate to this film when thinking of EU, it's all about making 'choices' and having self belief, and course...why are we here.

Star Trek the first one Directed by J.J. Abrams bring modern characters to the original team. With Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, I love to bits. It's the music as they approach the Enterprise, always makes my hair stand on end. You can't beat it. Such a shame our own 'Enterprise' within EU has little to do until space improves.

That's it, must see films I'd say.

The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
The Godfather (1972)
The Godfather: Part II (1974)

Top3 voted movies, and there is good reason why.

today ill say LOCK STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS but there are many great movies out there so tommorow i could put another title

I've never really given much thought to which is my very favourite film, here's a few I like though...

I still get chills from the closing scene of The Wicker Man (The original film with Christopher Lee) even after multiple viewings.

Shawshank Redemption is another great film, Romper Stomper, Moonraker, Apocalypto, Gladiator are others.

More will come to me later...

Lost in Translation... not really able to say why, but I think it's mostly cuz of the atmosphere and general feeling :)

The breeding rituals of pinguins - national geographic 2010.

Memento, but only works the first time you watch it so enjoy it if you haven't.

As for a movie I would watch over and over again that's The Big Lebowski, don't know exactly why.

Hah I second both.

Star Wars

Search your feelings; you know it to be true!

[shocked] No. No! That's not true! That's impossible!

another which im watching right now. the deer hunter. starting in ten minutes on itv4 +1 :)

Once Were Warriors - powerful picture about Maori family living in suburbs. Love and violence, lost cultural identity, crime.... Violent and heartbreaking movie. Most recommended.

Backdoor Sluts 9, makes Crotch Capers 3 look like Naughty Nurses 2!

If I could only watch one more movie it would probably be the lord of the rings trilogy (it was one book, it's one film)

But what's the best? probably Pulp Fiction.

LOL...you crack me up slither, I like you more and more.

I still struggle to understand this backdoor fascination many guys have with women, but hey everyone to their own.

What you really need is a scratch-an-sniff card with those DVD's, to really get you going......LOL.

Can you imagine, you could have a whole collection of cards of your favourite actress's with their own personal pheromones.... I wonder if there's a market for such cards, could be money to be made there. Probably appeal to the cunnilingous fans. (can't spell that damn word).

DON'T PANIC!

The best movie ever, is Hitchhikers Guide to the galaxy.

This movie reveals the secrets of Life, the Universe and Everything...and that's just pretty darn neat.

But in addition you learn some handy dandy uses for your towel. no not that use..porn freaks.

Hard to say I really like Blade Runner and Alien they are at the top of my list. My favorite western is The Unforgiven and WWII movie would be Saving Private Ryan. Band of Brothers is an excellent HBO series as well as Deadwood. The set and costume design for the film Dune still inspires me to this day. Favorite mob movie is Goodfellas and the God Father series. Favorite horror movie will always be Hellraiser.

Favorite movie....

name: Sharknado
reason: sharks jumping into water spouts and then .... well, I think that's more than enough of a reason :ahh:

Ossi!

ps. ok, maybe 2001, Army of Darkness, Ferris Beuller's day off... and the reason(s) are pretty obvious ;)

Like most people have stated it is hard to pick just one movie and I myself have been wondering this same question recently.

The movie that keeps coming up for me as the best would have to be: GRANDMA'S BOY.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0456554/?ref_=sr_1

Why is it the best? It is a VERY well done comedy about video games, and it is EXTREMELY funny. :D
