Below some important facts to keep in mind concerning loot. I made it a reference list, because this is easier than repeating myself every odd months.
I make this thread so I refer to its subsequent rules without having to retype them every time.
This rules are not exhaustive and I will add more as time goes by.
1. If your modus operandi does not work with a 20DPS setup; it will not work with a 120DPS setup either.
1a The (seamingly) higher markup from bigger mobs will be offset by higher decay of armor/fap in the end
1b Don't do what someone else is doing, even if you think he is succesfull.
1c Don't do what everyone is doing; everyone loses; you want to be the exception
1d It is possible to win from the house; the house just takes more from the others instead. Few have found out and most of them realized 6b
2. There is no personal lootpool. If you have shitty loot yesterday you lost; don't assume that loot will be extra today because of it
2a The same applies for good loot
example: if you rolled 100 ones in a row with dices; you still have 1/6 chance to role a 1 next time.
3. Eco matters and is not only dependent on ubergear:
3a killing 300HP mobs with a IMKII without a finisher diminishes it's eco with 11% on average; making it less eco than most guns on which a finisher is used
3b what you pay to the LA owner; you pay to a LA owner. (official MA reply)
3c even a mod fap is less eco than not being hit in the first place
3d It is more eco to max amp (a10x) a smaller gun and hunt a smaller mob than hunt a bigger one partly amped
3e there are formulas out there that include MU in eco cost of weapons; learn and use them.
4. Mark-up does not mean big mobs. The more mobs you kill the more loot averages out and the more chance of looting something rare.
4a kill 10 5k HP mobs is a gamble; killing 200 250hp mobs is a hunting session.
4b puny creates have a higher avg MU (bone samples) than ESI dropping mobs. (100ped MU bones in a 1000ped hunt; at 1pec/bone)
4c Highest MU% stackables include molisk tooth, foul bones, blazars,... all of those can be hunted before unlocking MMS
4d big mobs drop big L guns that go for 103%; mid level mobs drop mid level guns that go 125%; low level mobs drop guns that go 130%
4e On average it costs much more to loot an UL item than it costs to buy it
4f the biggest MU mob mines pyrite in PVP4; the second biggest mob is the mob that hunts that mob.
4g Some people pay to be able to pay more in MU to be able to lose peds faster (tiering and enhancers)
5. trends: the past is in the past; if it weren't the universe would explode
5a some whine that they didn't buy xxx when it was cheap; I find it sad that I didn't buy MS stock when they first released...
5b Crafted stuff will go down in price over time till the cost is bearably more than the minimum (not average!) cost to produce it.
5c Some things are expensive because some ppl have found a way to profit with those items; don't expect you to do the same; the key is in knowledge, not in the gear
5d it isn't unfair, it's called capitalism; it's like Darwinism. Letting the weak prosper would be unfair against nature.
6. bursting bubbles
6a first admit you will lose money; since the house needs to win.
6b Want to make 30$ for a 12h working day? That is what the legendary top hunter made. He wished he learned a trade instead nowadays...
6c EU might not be a casino officially, but you sure as heck should come to ease that it is. Now where are those free cocktails?
6d The time it takes to gain back the MU in form of decay of a ModFap will be a small fraction of the peds you lost hunting.
7. What to do: have fun, don't whine and if you lose you only have yourself to blame for. If you come whine here, you are basically saying that you are a loser and a failure. (Unless you whine about real bugs)
7a If you don't like a hamburger at a particular hamburger joint; are you going to come back and whine or just go to another place next time?
7b being relaxed and joyful while playing will increase loot slightly, and if not, you paid for a good time
7c be nice and friendly and doors will open where you thought their where none. Be greedy and hatefull and break your nose on the ones shutting before you.
7d towards newbies, be generous with information, be scarce with giving them stuff.
8. Loot's a bitch and its deity is called D'Loothea; she gives and she takes.
Now this is not really relevant at all; but I find it a nice end to this post that contains too much wisdom already.
