For Entropia to become a real virtual universe it has to support tomorrow's VR gear.
Buyers of this type of equipment are the customers Entropia Universe should be aiming for and by becoming one of the first games supporting VR gear Entropia would attract quite a few of them.
You could implement it after it was common in every home and supported by every newly released game or you could do it now and make the headlines!
Just imagine exploring the worlds inside Entropia just by moving your head!

Never gonna happen, period.

Not to mention that there are still shitton of bugs that came in 2008, and some that seemed to persist from the previous engine.
And wasn't this new social interface / chat improvement thing supposed to come out in 2012? (I vaguely remember something like that from Kim's interview back then).
So, yeah, adding Rift/whatever support to it... not gonna happen.

Step 1. tape ipad to face
Step 2. stream entropia to ipad
Step 3. profit

I don't think it makes sense for Entropia to adopt VR anytime soon.

Even if it's a future, it's a very distant one. This sci-fi device looks like something from beyond 2010, it will take years for us to get there.

Its not going to happen. MindArk struggles with coding CE2, let alone a whole new platform for VR. The bugs still waiting to be fixed is longer than my member and that's saying something! Sorry, but no VR for EU!

who wants to sit and grind for 8 hours with something on their head really? VR has never taken off in the decades its been around so why would it now? :scratch2:

It appears there are different definitions of virtual reality.

The most popular one would what we have seen in movies, where you plug your brain in to a network and run around, have sex and in the end die because of some computer glitch/virus. :D

What MA understands with virtual universe (I don't really recall them using the term Virtual reality to which OPs links refer to) is that they try to mimic the real world - we have currency with exchange rate with the USD, people set up businesses, socialize etc.

Those are two very different things, don't mix them together...

Yeah, even if I get one for free I doubt I will use it more than 1 time and than go back to my monitor.

But it would be so easy to implement it's just another mouse like device with a monitor built in. I think
