There is cheaper way to unlock ESL ;).

The item you should look for is Rakzum's Pouch.

It has higher biotropic level requirement (i think 25) but you will need no collateral and total cost of unlockign ESL will be like 1 to 10ped depending on your luck ;).

Good luck searching, was really nice to see res chip going down. When you find somebody let me know, I would love to do the same :D
 
Still have 10 lvls to go before i can use the Rakzum's Pouch, so would prefer renting a chip at this point :D

Perhaps the collateral requested reflects the market value of the item at the time?
Just a thought.
