FYI: #Trade & Other Custom Chat Channels

It seems there are a lot of players returning to EU that don't know about the #Trade channel and other important ones. I buy and sell items out of #Trade all of the time and a lot of others do too. They make buying and selling a lot easier.

These custom chat channels are player created and are visible universe wide.

To join them all you have to do is type in /join channelname

example: /join #Trade

others worth joining are: #CalyTrade #ArkTrade #CyreneTrade #Rocktrading #NItrade

As well as #Fap if you need a medic. #Space_Travel if you need a pilot

From there you can set up your tabs however you want.

I think MA should create a default one that's universe wide.

It would be a great tool for the in-game economy.
 
You can also see a list of available channels along with how many are in each

Type in: /listchannels keyword

Example: /listchannels trade

It will then show you a listing of all channels with that word or letters as part of the name along with how many are in each one. Then, if you want to see who is in that channel you can type in:

/listmembers #channelname

Example: /listmembers #trade
 
According to my message centre there already exists a MA created 'Trade' channel. Seems very quiet though.

The MA created Trade Channel is local chat only. For example, if you are in Twin Peaks or any other area, it will only display chat from that area.

The custom chat channels are universe wide, just like society chat, players from anywhere in the Entropia Universe can see messages in that channel.

Just like Rookie, MA should create a universe wide Trade channel that all players access by default.

Doing so would help facilitate trade which increases liquidity among players, thereby increasing economic and loot system turnover.
 
Thanks for the clarification. I haven't been to Twin for ages, which is why I hadn't realized it. <grin>

Don't forget to make them planet specific before it is too late, we already should not be using #trade but instead #calytrade or something as #trade should be only about universal wide trading discussion or universal wide trading were someone plans to sell or buy on any planet.
 
I wish there was a buying channel. Just for people looking for things, NOT selling things.

So I can get rid of all the reseller spam.

The odds of me having something someone needs among 5 planets with full storage's is MUCH higher then me needing the crap the people are trying to sell and clogging up the channel. I love helping people when they need something, and always check to see if I have what someone is asking for. A buying channel would be so much more peaceful :)
 
Well, the best thing is that the Ignore feature is only a click away :)
