Do people like ammo in loot?

Ammo for me because I always bring different guns to the fight and since I already know I will loot some ammo, I don't buy a lot of ammo of one weapon type. I find it more fun. And sometimes the extra ammo you get equals extra shots, so that can lead to a global or a nice loot. we got already many TT food items that are just like the old school PED.
 
MA is doing this temorary probably to raise the MU of oils so we will have little MU on loot :D they were doing things like this before and it always works out rly good

U put textures into TT, they disappear, u get back PEDs.
U put textures into texturizer, they disappear, u get back PEDs.

Shouldn't be too hard to see a similarity? And difference from actually looting some new items u didn't have before.
 
Ok, 100 ppl shoot Old Fred, 1 get a 500 ped item, 99 ppl whine.

100 ppl shoot old fred, MA hands out 5 ped ammo each , 100 ppl whine cause its ammo and not oils or ped.

You guys, lol
 
Yes

I started carrying a BLP and Laser, with enough to break the one preferred and a bit of ammo to extend my hunt with the other. Or enough to break both and get better readings on loot quantity of ammo.

Old loots without "shitty "items"" are be better than full "items" loot window where we lose 1-5% if tted it all..
Fast regen and hp x2 is bull shit too... for example regular in 98% kils 60-70 pec from ambulimax young.

Ammo in loot..No.. Because TT is 100% and MU is =0%
But if ammo stop to be in loot even more item will lose MU.

Don´t like PED nor Ammo in Loot.

I want items!
Even animal oils are better than ammo or pure PED, everything that got TT+0,01 or 100,xx% is better than PED or Ammo.

Thats what the Outside World Sees that the loot received was actual in game currency.

Now Switching to Oil / Ammo / Hides / isnt actual currency even though it has a value.
Therefore MA could easily say we don't give out the Virtual Currency as loot.

Which they don't they give items that the outside world dont know about as loot.
of course these have a currency value but it isn't the actual currency used.

Now I would love to have global screenies similar to below ;) but as Entropia Universe
is the only Cash Economy MMO then if there not giving out currency it is easier also
with the World Wide Participation then there are not just UK / EU / USA / AU / NZ Rules and Regulations

In the UK if you put Cash in to a one arm bandit / Fruit Machine by UK LAW it has to show what
the potential return rate would be x that by a number of countries and x specific country laws gets complicated.

Again around the Time Period of these changes there were rogue online casinos operating offshore and countries loosing taxes which they weren't happy about as well and so new laws and regulations were put in place also in the USA there were a number of casinos that were operating and were shut down.

Entropia Universe saw this coming and so changed the loot system to oils and stuff so that it continued.

Yes I remember the old days of getting peds / pec in loot I have adapted and will adapt again to what they put in to loot 99% of the time it just gets dropped in the TT.

In my first weeks of playing I even dropped an ESI in to the TT my mistake but it happened.

That never will happen.
With such loot windows, EU would be handled like a lottery game in many country.
Payout of cash, also is handeled as gambling, what would be illegal in many countrys.

Example: Germany
You may set up a poker match and payout some items prize - not gambling
You may set up a poker match and payout cash prize - gambling

Nonsens, but thats the law :D

Exactly that nonsens is why MA surely never will bring back, PED in Loot.
Due to its fixed exchange rate to $ its seen as currency/cash.

but it isnt cash. its gold coloured graphics called PED. apart from the fact that everything else looted has a TT value, the presence of ammo that has no possible markup also dismantles this gambling theory. MA changed it to put oils in the game, then switched the oils to ammo to give them some value.
 
Well aridash, you are around since 2005, so you should have noticed the discussions back that days about the US problems.
There have been serious problems, EU was seen as a gambling plattform, so serveral US CC providers didn´t allow to use those CC to deposit into EU.
Some even feared, that EU got completely banned from US market.
MA removed PED from loot, problem solved.

Believe me, thats all of it.
For MA it doesn´t make any difference if there is animal oils or same amount of PED in loot window.
The difference is some stupid laws.

Same problem MA had with US accounts would have been seen if someone reported EU as gambling plattform in germany that days.

PED will be seen as currency, as it has a direct link to an RL currency with fixed exchange rate. 10 PED = 1 $
Animal oils are trade goods, not currency. No fixed exchange rate, it could also be sold at more than TT value and even at less than that.
Only PED can be withdrawn, not animal oils !

And thats all about it.
Why should MA risk, that EU becomes illegal in germany or US ?

Don´t know about other country gambling laws.

It really doesn´t matter what you (or me or any other player) think about PED or animal oils, it matters what RL judges think about it. They got the might to say EU is legal or illegal. MA has to listen to them, not to us, if they want to continue their business.
 
Ammo in loot is terrible.

It makes it impossible to look at your ammo spend to work out the number of shots you fired. Bad for eco tests and such.. This is probably the reason why.

yes, i was around, and remember how this was speculation in the first place. the player base wondered aloud if the US (or others) considered EU gambling, and MA spoke to authorities... about money laudering. somehow this latter detail was ignored and the community decided it was the reason for removing gold coloured coins, even when MA (probably through Marco as i recall) had previously expressed a desire to change loot so everything was usable with markup.

as i would have said then (because i did a fair bit or reading up), and say now, gambling is defined in virtually all juristictions by the action taken and use of chance and skill in that action, not how the bet is laid and paid out. Otherwise there is blindingly obvious loophole for gambling, using tokens, be it plastic discs or KG weights of broccoli.

TT value is all that matters, whatever the graphical representation, as that is what is "cashed in". think about it, you're trying to say:
PED -> ammo -> ammo+oils -> PED is not gambling.
PED -> ammo -> PED is gambling.

So if this is true, the non-US gambling industry could side-step the US regulations by paying out chips and prizes, say electrical goods. instead most have either taken their bat home, or setup servers within states so they can provide legal gambling (because its far from illegal, mostly its inter-state operations that are).
 
don't really care, ammo is ped, ped is ammo, I shoot I am tossing ped at the mob, I loot ammo it is tossing ped in my inventory.

can't vote for my option so never voted.
