Everything EXCEPT ammo please...
I like to buy 800 peds of ammo and know that thats what I will hunt for.. Keeps the tracking easier as well.

PED was in a loot but got removed for some obscure (for me) legal reasons. This takes care of the "PED".
Now, let me check the poll what was the other choice...? :scratch2:

Anything except ammo.

Makes it alot easier to track expenses during hunt.

Or if ammo, stored seperately, so that I don't end up using it during the hunt, unless I choose to do so.

more ammo and less other mats to make mu go up? sure :)
I'd like to see ammo replaced with ped or some other tt thingy tho, or make it explosives only (dont use those :D)

Just my 2 pec ;)

PED weigh more than ammo. It is uncomfortable. Better if we only get explosives, yes.
If we continue recieving ammo, i think must be different stacks (this was in the past), for calculations.

And BIG NO to universal ammo in the loot!!!

Universal ammo in the loot :yay:

nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu :tongue2:

something innocuos, just TT food is fine but not ammo, messes up tracking :(

or the ability to segregate the stacks.. I dunno if placing ammo in containor takes it out of the equation?

Nothing against small stacks of explosive ammo but the TT ammo should just dissapear.
I would like to see peds back in loot, a simple wight fix would remove the problem that its too heavy.

@Fifth

What do you mean with legal reasons ?

There was another reason behind the removal of peds in loot but make people spending more ammo as they wanted on a hunt and make it more complicated to track spendings ? The change that looted ammo dosnt get its own stack anymore goes nicely with that "theory" :)

This and the auction fee change are up today the two most user unfriendly things mindark have "done" to us.
sorry i start drifting away from topic

Ooh back to shiny PEDs, and reduce their weight.

With ammo out of loot it would make tracking so much easier, but we do need something with no MU making up the majority of loot so there can actually be enough MU on other stuff to be worth selling.

yeh Love the idea of universal ammo ;)

Vote that one up baby - get rid of all the other ammo then and cut loot lag at the same time

@Fifth

What do you mean with legal reasons ?

European Union & Gambling Laws - as Ped is a Virtual Currency there were concerns that ped loot and pec loot could then be classified as gambling.

At the time of the change there were a lot of of shore casinos and regulations were coming through the European Union to tighten them up hence the changes.

Hehe u were faster, Sal :)

Who already didn't get it, the poll has a certain entertainment value.
Other than that, it's pointless :p

Poll not designed well... you should also include at least one other option like "Neither peds or ammo", that would be my choice.

Given the choice between peds or ammo, I would say peds because it doesn't interfere with hunt logging.

The original excuse was because we, the players, asked for more item drops but the generally people assumed it was to try and avoid problems with the US government classing EU as gambling because the payout was in peds.

When it was first changed we didn't get ammo in loot but the returns we so poor and enough people complained we got ammo as well or they just forgot to enable it but it took them a few days.

Or, what happened was this:
At the VU when animal oils were implemented, all PEDs in ammo was replaced by animal oils - consider the typical drop of today but instead of the ammo, "animal oil residue". I didn't even notice the change the first day, because I thought the animal oil residue was the familiar PEC coins.

However, the problem was hunting in lootable pvp. Gettig animal oils and residue in lootable pvp would mean that you would lose more than Before if getting killed, so replacing animal oil residue with ammo was a way around it.

Another thing was that players were thinking if it shouldn't be possible to Craft ammo. Maybe as a response to that, the explosives got implemented, but so far they have only been in loot, they haven't been craftable.

The complaints about ammo in loot:
1) People who want to track their returns in hunting have it harder, especially if the base for the hunt is "I go out with 50 ped ammo, I shoot it up, and check my returns".
2) After a long:ish run, you tended to end up with a zillion stacks of ammo (too small for your gun to use). I guess the stacking algorithm is smarter now, and you only get new stacks when buying ammo. Also, today there is a "merge-all" function for stacks.

Just wondering if people prefer ammo or ped in loot again..

ammo is added like failsafe that boss mob cannot drop no loot, ammo is in loot only when it has nothing to drop .

It first was made on wanguards when mission tokens ended and started to give no loots, after quick rr was replaced by ammo

same with all big mobs like sand king, husk and other similar mobs.

ROFL dude all is fine and well but...

WHAT GOOD is this change in a system which ignores one of the main proffessions - crafting?

You think that a crafter who has no role in the universe at this moment - except for making - for example mining amps - everything else is mostly looted - will pay more MU for your items?

For what?

To craft a meaningless, useless item, which he only decided on crafting to begin with - because he looted 10 ped of 10x% shit which doesnt sell - coz noone needs the thing crafted from it anyway and goes into a BP he can try a bit of gamble on just for the swirlies - for example?
(x = <4)

No sir, I dont think so.

Untill the moment MOST - if not ALL things, which miners and hunters need, to perform their hunting and mining - are made by crafters - this game is and will be - by me and many others I believe - considered a mere monthly subscription game which is starting to tap into the microtransactions model...

I think someone needs to tap MA's shoulder and remind them they are THE F*CK*NG PIONEERS OF RCE MMORPG AND THAT THEY DONT NEED TO COPY OTHER GAMES MODELS and that the shit that is now going on -

IS CERTAINLY NOT WHAT MADE THIS GAME POPULAR AT THE BEGINNING AND IS NOT WHAT ATTRACTED SO MANY (INCREDIBLE) PEOPLE THAT YOU HAD/HAVE THE CHANCE TO MEET - TO THIS GAME OVER THE YEARS.

PED was in a loot but got removed for some obscure (for me) legal reasons.

In 2005, the US governement was clearly saying that Project Entropia WAS A GAMBLING GAME as we were receiving "real" money (peds are 1/10 of US Dollars) in loots.
This is what motivated mindark (for what I know) to remove the peds in loots.

This would also mean, that the minimum legal age at least in the USA to log in this game was 18, see 21.

This aspect would affect most occidental countries, USA & Europe at least, because you can be sure that France, Great Britain, Germany would have followed in the same process.

But mindark claimed for years "this is not a gambling game"...

The original excuse was because we, the players, asked for more item drops but the generally people assumed it was to try and avoid problems with the US government classing EU as gambling because the payout was in peds.

I answered too fast, I see that Spike did the same answer, which is comfirming what I say.

tl;dr

Every crafting material is at an all-time low in price, which is negatively impacting the main EU profession, hunting. This is in part due to messing with the loot tables so that a lot of mats that used to drop more sparingly are common. This actually hurts crafting too (although admittedly less than it used to because part of screwing up the loot tables made crafted weapons almost pointless).

I used to save everything in loot (besides the peds/ammo, obviously) because almost anything could be sold with a small MU in time if collected in a stack. Now i tt almost everything because you literally can't sell most hunting loot at a price that justifies the auction fee. The only way to have MU on some things is to have them drop less frequently, so yes we need lots of ammo or peds or socket components in loot.

tl;dr version of my post: you're misinformed about the past and present of hunting loot and what is in the best interest of the game.

Please PM me your thoughts on this or what exactly do you mean with this plz.

I was under the impression that MMORPG's...

have loot...to have things....which you need....to make good things....

to use it and loot more things with it....to make better things...[repeat]....

to loot even better better things..[repeat]...to make even better better better things,
which you use to loot even BETTER BETTER BETTER BETTER things,

to craft even BETTER BETTER BETTER BETTER BETTER things, to use and loot even BETTER BETTER BETTER B..........................

Tell me where - in this scenario compared to EU's state at the moment - you think - my missinformation of loot or what BEST INTEREST OF THE GAME IS?? - comes in place? :scratch2::scratch2::scratch2::scratch2::scratch2::scratch2:

Question here is, though, PEDs (coins) or ammo. Not ammo vs hides/extractors/oils.

As for universal ammo in loot: It can't be traded, so it's not that great if you've been getting a lot of (univrsal) ammo in loot, and now you want to hunt with melee.
if you want to buy ammo for hunt and is any univeral ammo in inventory, you need to hide it in vehicle/containers ;)gues what ammo will be used first by the gun on default ... despite of your wish .take a pick :).

As far as Im concerned its a non question we had peds now we have ammo we can TT for peds Whats the problem:scratch2::scratch2:

The way I see it, ammo in the loot is Mindarks way of basically forcing us to cycle extra.

I'd like peds to go buy ammo if I please.

Still though, to me at least, it's not really a big deal. In the end returns are the same, etc.

Please check my post here that touches on the reasoning behind this.

https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/...976-Odd-Loot&p=3267281&viewfull=1#post3267281

I understand your reasoning but looting ammo in loot constantly messes up our logs. I also understand the reasoning behind this because psychologically speaking you expect the avg player to spend that extra ammo looted thus more money for you guys. But for us who track our hunts its simply a pain.

Remove medium cells and blp packs from loot and replace with pecs (reduce weight) or explosive projectiles (Low percentage of playerbase uses explosive projectiles) compared to medium cells and blp packs or even animal oil residue. Another option could be universal ammo, but that would only work if it was tt-able.
I believe this way it will make most people happier, though of course you can't please everyone.
